This game is fun, and I’ve only played it for 2 days straight. I especially love the subtle details that can be easily missed. A good cast of characters, with various personalities.
As of now, there’s only one error in the game where Bella (from the Steelbloom mother and daughter family) is supposed to be calling from the room (203), but it says “…this is Stella…”, which is the Florist lady in 103.
At first I thought the game was properly testing my memory of the names. But it happened a second time, so I’m assuming that it was just a name slip up on the developers side.
But again, great little game. I appreciate the artwork, even to the different appearances like when they are drenched wet, or suddenly are wearing glasses.
Very good stuff!
The only thing now is just some small suggestions:
1. The error that I previously mentioned could be used as a genuine anomaly to look out for, but it would mean that the person that is in the room already, is the escaped “experimentation”. Maybe that could be used to dial “911” for the room… I don’t know, I’m just thinking :)
2. I would add more detailed dialogue. Maybe a character could for example plead to be let in, once the case of the detain button is opened.
Another idea. Maybe you could tap on the characters themselves, where random dialogue could cycle through.
More so just to give the characters more personality. I would say to check out the game “Papers, Please!” for a bit of inspiration.
3. When you’re finished for the “day”, there should be a transitional menu, for example a news broadcast updating the player of potential dangers. Just so when playing, it feels like the days are continuous, instead of reverting back to the main menu each time.
Also, during that, placing the ads would make more sense.
4. More achievements! I love the button achievement, add more small but doable achievements.
5. To up the creepiness, maybe add some more eerie elements in the audio track. Maybe some soft knocking or quiet coughing🤷♂️
Or, maybe put a very, very, small probability of a jump scare. It could be when the step into the booth. Or even better, a jump scare when the player is constantly flipping through the folder.
The probability should only be very low though, just to startle the player a bit.
But yeah, great game nonetheless! I look forward to any updates that are already in the works.
I read some reviews and saw a mention of new modes and stuff so… very excited.
Keep up the great work!!
