Needs much improvement

Needs to remove cat. It’s hard to see if you got the answer correct or not. Also, I had to remove and reinstall LearnMusicNotesPiano many times because a lot of times LearnMusicNotesPiano would freeze on multiple devices. I made sure That my devices were up-to-date but there still were many issues with freezing of LearnMusicNotesPiano . I have permanently remove LearnMusicNotesPiano and do not plan to use it ever again. 👎🏻☹️

Terrible app

You have to slide the notes around before you can select which note you’d like. Too hard for my little one to do. Just put all the letters where you can choose the correct answer without having to slide notes around!

In response to developer’s response to my review:

I tried downloading LearnMusicNotesPiano again to check out their suggestions. When I tried to flip to landscape mode, it said the free app doesn’t support landscape mode, and you have to get the paid version. I changed the setting to include all the keys my little guy knows, but needs to practice (f space at bottom of base clef to g space above treble clef) and tried to play the game myself, but you still have to slide the letters around to get the right color “a” or “b” or whatever based on what octave it is in. If there’s a way to fix this on LearnMusicNotesPiano and actually make LearnMusicNotesPiano useful, it’s too hard to find.

I like it but it has some major issues

First of all if you are trying to learn the keys I don’t think that I should tell you what color they are cause that’s cheating and you will never really develop what letter it’s is. Second it dosent really do anything other than show you the letter and then you have to guess what key it is. I feel like there should be other activities or something to actually do.

Why is there a note H?

My kid has been using LearnMusicNotesPiano. She enjoys it but there are too many settings that need to be adjusted, treble and base, line and space notes. The format is great but it’s not that intuitive. Also, why is there a note H instead of a note B? This is really confusing to me and is questioning my sanity. There is not a note H on the piano! Also, LearnMusicNotesPiano suggests there’s a Pro version but I’ve checked several times and do not see any upgraded version or way to upgrade. I was hoping the Pro version would eliminate the dreaded non-existent H key.

Bug where I can’t select custom range (level 3)

This would be a 5 star app, but it won’t let me go any lower than the top space of the bass clef (G) when selecting a custom range. I assume it’s a bug. This is very unfortunate because if not for this bug I would have gladly paid a lot of money for LearnMusicNotesPiano :(

Great idea but major flaw

I am trying to use LearnMusicNotesPiano to teach my child note names. I want to use the option to answer the questions with the note names as opposed to the keys on the piano. When I select that option, it only has E G B D and F available to choose. I’m assuming it is some sort of glitch, but it needs to be resolved.

It’s good, BUT...

I like the setup but the microphone is 1 full note off. For example, when it shows a “C” note on the scale, it only responds correctly if I play a “D” note on my keyboard.

Before you think my digital keyboard is off, a “C” note on it sounds the same note that I hear pressing the “C” on LearnMusicNotesPiano keys. So, the mic is not tuned correctly.

Doesn’t capture correct note

The microphone always recognize note half step below. For example, I need to press C to make a correct answer for B. I used LearnMusicNotesPiano a few years ago it was working fine. Please help or fix this. Thanks.

This fun!

I am 55 and learning to play for the first time as physycal therapy for my hand’s neuropathy. This is very challangeing because I am playing my son’s flute. This forces me to stretch my fingers. It’s fun to have the cat pop up when I have my fingers in the correct position. I would pay for the pro version if you added flute fingerings. Thank you

Useful app but data collection is concerning

This very simple app offers a flash card approach to learning notes on the clefs. I found it helpful and as a piano student I appreciate the option of learning notes by name (letter) or finding the note on a keyboard. I would give it 5 stars for simplicity and usefulness, but removed two stars for unnecessary (and disturbing) data collection.

Has potential

I didn’t know if I got the answer right or wrong when I started. Maybe get rid of the cat and put a check or an x instead..

Maybe you can use the cat to put motivational messages that appear on the screen, like if your having trouble make the cat appear and put a speech bubble saying “You can do it!” And if your doing a good job the cat can say “You’re doing great! Keep up the good work!”

Also, maybe you should make the interface cleaner so there is not buttons everywhere.

You should totally add a setting to turn the timer and score feature on and off!

Maybe also add games where you compete against the clock to get the most points and rank up on the leaderboards!

Overall, this is a great app but it has so much more potential.

Why I think it should be four stars.

It’s great and fun I just think that you should make it more fun and enjoyable instead of just music notes. Maybe more colors and prizes! But I LOVE everything else about it!

Learning music at 62

I always wanted to play piano so put my daughter through lessons and now she is a piano teacher and teaches me. I love to have different modalities to learn sight reading and LearnMusicNotesPiano is helpful for identifying the notes on the piano.

I like this game!

One of the reasons I like this game is that it's educational, and I love to learn. Another reason is that it is colorful and I love the little cat. This isn't a long review, I know, but I just wanted to write so, so much more people can download it. Thank you for reading my review. 😃🙃🤩😁

Why I love it

It teaches me how to do piano and every good boy does fine and line notes and space notes

Great for getting back into reading music

I haven’t played music since high school (20 years). I’ve only been using this for two days and it’s all starting to come back to me. LearnMusicNotesPiano is great. Best of all it’s free. Even if it wasn’t it would totally be worth it.

Great remembering of notations

It’s easy and simple. Color coding gives hint. But after some time you don’t need hints. The sound also helps to get your ear used to the notations. It’s important that you register the sound. It’s as simple as alphabet letters which has sound too.

I am having trouble finding the correct answer

I don’t know the exact notes

Helps remember notes

I had a little melt down because I had a long break from lessons and did not practice so I got this and just can’t stop playing this game

Love the personalization settings!

First, having both treble and bass clef on the screen helps with reading real music scores. I love that you can personalize not only level of difficulty, but turn on/off the cat, change background and note color, vary the scales, and instrument source. Great job in creating a very useful app!
