Do not waste your money on ReverseImageSearch. It is complete garbage. All those other reviews are most likely fake, ReverseImageSearch does nothing for you and everything in the description is lying crap.
Another unnecessary, low-effort cash grab that introduces a privacy and security risk by standing in between your data and your browser.
Author claims no personal data is being collected, but the ToS and privacy policy state he'll be using third party libs and api's he takes no responsibility for. So he's a liar.
He also maintains the right to rip ReverseImageSearch away at any time and for any reason while demanding you accept every update. Also whatever else is good for him and bad for you.
They're horribly written and I don't imagine this 13 year old understands what is and isn't enforceable, but it's just more crap on top of hot trash.
Use your browser.
ReverseImageSearch used to work reasonably well (not great), but now it brings me to a page and error message stating that google image search is unavailable and to try again in several hours. Been receiving that message for many months now.
Did the developer close up shop but forget to turn off the lights?
I was using ReverseImageSearch on my iPads and was very happy with it. Suddenly on my iPad Pro I would tap on the image search key and the image would blink and not go anywhere. It still works fine on my iPad Air 2. What hapened? I tried reinstalling?
You can do the exact same thing through Google search and it doesn’t cost you a dollar.. Plus it gives you three options for searching Google, Bing and Yandex. The best deep expensive search is on Yandex for those hard to find photos
were google Safari Bing drops the ball Yandex picks everything up.
I have used ReverseImageSearch for some time and liked it. Unfortunately the developer got greedy and changed it to a monthly subscription. Just simply not useful enough for a monthly fee. A one time upgrade fee is more in line with this type of app. Oh well, deleted!!!!
I've tried to search up a picture of someone and if the person is sitting in grass it shows other people sitting in grass. If you want to search for the person, find a different app!!!! Don't waste your money on this one. They should have paid me to get ReverseImageSearch.
Waste of time money & hope would like refund
& no I won’t delete you guys are misleading people & taking people’s money giving them false hope ReverseImageSearch didn’t work on any photos . Instead of DEMANDING me to delete you should want to figure out how to make ReverseImageSearch work for everyone or atleast make it free .
Ahhhh, surprise a monthly fee and ReverseImageSearch does the same thing as several other free apps. Also yandex or google in a browser. If an app like this waned to charge a reasonable one time fee I would be all over it. Why can’t they just say “this is a trial and if you like it you will have to pay a monthly fee” before we waste our time.
ReverseImageSearch works great when searching from the photos app, but it’s currently broken in Safari. Any attempt to search an image from within Safari results in a green or purple screen appearing and disappearing, with no image search being run.
5 star app if this can be fixed!
I’ve only just started using ReverseImageSearch, but so far it’s been excellent. The “get started” documentation is short, simple, and clear.
My only quibble - and it’s not worth taking off a star - is that Google results come up under the sub-heading “IMAGES”, which shows exact image matches. This is not a bad thing - but I am often looking for *similar* images. So, when the Google results appear, I will change the sub-heading from “IMAGES” to “ALL” and will see similar images. I guess I’m saying that I’d suggest that the developer “fix this in the documentation” :)
That said: this is a nice, simple-to-use, and sorely needed extension. Well done!
It does its job.
Looks fine..
No problems since I had it
Had a bit of trouble getting started. Didn't realize it worked as extension. But is very cleaver now that I got it.
It's important to check the provenance of images prior to sharing them. It also helps in distinguishing fact from fiction in social media. This feature, as others have stated, should have already been included by Google and/or Apple. So thank you, dev, for bringing this to iOS and making it so simple!
I loved how this integrated the lookup in the share bar. I have downloaded multiple apps looking for this, but this proved the best.
Only finds like images. Not a true reverse image search app. That’s very very disappointing. I only found myself using it once or twice to demonstrate but as far as usefulness..... it does nothing.
Interface is easy and works great! Just wish on the Google side (am guessing), that it would recommend "visually similar pictures" based on 2 points - such as hair style and gender or a mix of other classifications.
great app, works perfectly
would it be possible to get iqdb support though?
