Turned bad now

I know they said every level is beatable, some challenging but able to be beaten. However, I played this game before and had never failed the first stage. There’s no reason for the first stage to be challenging in any way. I used to play this for maybe two years on my old phone and it was never like this. Now it makes you watch an ad to figure out if there’s no moves left. It used to just say “No more moves” and I’m almost 100% sure they intentionally made it easier to run out of moves so you’ll be forced to watch an ad to get the hint and watch an ad to get a joker to continue playing. It’s so sad because this was my favorite game. I played it all the time and enjoyed it now it’s absolutely terrible forcing you to watch ads to enjoy it and constantly forcing you out of moves on levels that shouldn’t be difficult. I hate playing and I wish they would fix it because it’s the only this app app that i enjoy the interface of.

Used to be perfect, now it’s ruined.

EDIT: After my previous review, I decided I liked the game enough I should just purchase it to remove all the ads. This worked wonderfully for a while and I was quite content with the game again. However, today I ran across a lovely little message that says “you can’t use undo more than one time in a row” and now the game is officially ruined. Changing my rating to 1 star - I don’t need to be told how to play a game, especially one I’ve paid for.

Original review:
Solitaire used to be perfect. But recently they changed it and now you are limited on “undos” and have to watch ads to use the undo button. I’m sure this is fine for some people, but for the way I play I feel like they totally ruined Solitaire . I have a daily challenge streak going back several years and now I’m finding myself looking for a new this app app. Very disappointed.

Automatically ends game

I hate that the game abruptly ends once you move to a spot that causes no plays left. As someone who isn’t a pro I am endlessly stressed that every move I make is going to end the game instantly. I like to learn from my mistakes and it doesn’t let you attempt any more moves and doesn’t let you “inspect” your plays or figure out where you went. It just shuts you out. I appreciate the thought that it’s saving me time not playing a game I already lost but sometimes that’s part of the thrill. Can I move anywhere else? Is there a way I can save myself? What should I have done? Nope just kicks you out. I just am constantly stressed out playing this game when it used to calm me down. Anyways… it’s hard to mess up a simple solitary game but- I guess this one isn’t for me.

They made it better, but the ads are worse

They added an ad if you take too long to solve a game, and now they have three step ads where you have to hit the exact right pixel to close that page three times or get sent to the play store over and over, and frankly, after years of playing this game, I’m considering deleting it. It is fun when I get to play it, but the ads are just too much. Three step Meta ad, play a bit, get a three step Meta ad, win the game, get another three step Meta ad, get the winning screen, start a new game, get a three step Meta ad…

I understand they need ads for the game to be free, but there’s one that never loads so I have to close out of the game entirely and reboot it, the dang Meta ads for apps I already use that are not easy to close and get back to the game, and now the added one halfway through the game just makes it not fun anymore.

Unbeatable wall (paid)

As others have said, the game mechanics are hard set to punish paid users, once they have your money. I play thousands of games and I’d say I can’t pass first level 25% of the time, the second level 25% of the time and get hard restricted at level 4 about 49% of the time. Level 5 and up - that used to be easily achievable in one in five plays - only happens once every 5 months (I play dozens of games a day). I still play a lot cause it’s got a good UI, but the “wall” - especially once you’ve paid - is very frustrating. And don’t tell me in your response that it doesn’t exist (I know someone who also paid and gets same wall. It’s statistically impossible for it to be random. Just do the right thing and make the game actually playable. It costs you nothing. Don’t do a “runner” once I’ve paid you. Official review: 4 stars UI, 0 stars gameplay mechanics.

Only 1 Undo, No replay, lots of ads

It’s got thousands of pre generated levels, some are very hard. I like the challenge. I do not like two things: that Solitaire doesn’t allow more than 1 Undo and that there is no “replay” button for a level. this app is a single player game. If I paid you I should get as many undos as I want and restart the level if I want. All of the other apps come standard with these two features.

Also Solitaire has a ton of ads. They really want you to buy the premium version, which was okay. Cheap but Solitaire doesn’t have the features that most other this app apps do. Would love to see that change in the future! Until then it’s pretty average or below average of an app to me.

Ads Keep Increasing

I have loved Solitaire for awhile and, until recently, would have given it 4-5 stars. I like the daily challenge, the leveled games and the periodic “events.” It has always had ads, but that’s expected in a free app, and they were always pretty reasonable. Well, that all changed with the most recent update. The ads are suddenly required more frequently and they are noticeably longer. I am always suspicious of any app that is so obviously just trying to keep the user on longer and longer. I get that the developer needs to make money, but this latest jump is pushing me out. I hope they take another look at the user experience and make a better change in the next update. We’ll see…

Too many ads and crashes

Overall love this game, love the customization options and graphics but there are so many ads and they get in the way of being able to use Solitaire . The ads freeze and don’t close and i have to close and reopen the entire app if i want to keep playing, and seeing there are at least 5 ads per game this makes Solitaire impossible to use. Also the ads are frustrating because you need to use a hint to see whether or not there are any moves left, rather than the game just telling you, which forces you to watch more ads. This game also makes my phone overheat and the game lags and freezes after a few games and overall is just a clunky faulty experience because there’s too many interruptions.

I’ve never written a review before but this app makes me mildly infuriated

This this app app is the only app on my device that makes it drop frames, heat up, and lag. I play other games where there are tons of graphics and my friends have problems with lag and frames dropping but I have had no problems with those games. It is only this game that really messes with my device. Sometimes, whenever I watch ads (either to get undos, hints, or just because I finished a game of this app), the game freezes or just stops working for no reason. Then I have to restart Solitaire and lose my progress. Now, with this recent update, for some reason the game consistently changes the screen orientation for no reason even though my device has been still. Sometimes it gets stuck like this in a different orientation, has the screen cut off, and I have to restart Solitaire . I don’t know if this is just a problem with my device or the game itself. But otherwise, Solitaire has a clean interface and is overall a fun experience (barring those annoying problems that mess up my progress). I really enjoy the events with cute drawings and how there are daily challenges.

Used to be Great

In the past I would’ve given this version of this app 5 stars. But recently some changes have really rubbed me the wrong way. I just play the game casually when I’m bored. It used to be that you could undo as many times as you wanted, which was great for a casual experience. But now the number of undos is limited, so I never use them anymore, lest I have to pay for more once I reach zero. Moreover, this is a minor gripe, but the game no longer tells you when you’re out of moves? It’s a minor inconvenience, but when playing a game as quick and simple as this app, the alert would be nice. Also, this has been mentioned in other reviews, but getting a high score is totally luck-based at this point since within 3 or 4 games, you usually reach an unsolvable level, I assume again so that the player needs to pay for privileges to keep going.

I don’t know what caused Solitaire to change, but I wish it would go back to the way it was.

Hitting the unsolvable wall

Overall, there is a lot going well for this version of this app that i just decided to buy the ad free version. Always appreciate that Easybrain gives that option.

The issue i have with the current build of the game is what feels like an “unavoidable wall” you hit when you’re playing a high score marathon. I get that not all this app games end in a solution… but the way the game progresses from stage to stage, youre basically guaranteed to run into and unsolvable stage by stage 3-4. It makes the high score more of a stroke of dumb luck than clever tactics or persistence. Perhaps all stages can be solvable and a limited amount of stage start over option available that allows players to reattempt?

Also the single move rewind is basically useless for speed solvers like me. Often the single move back is just a card flip from the main deck.

The best UI/UX but some serious flaws

I’ll start off by saying this is easily the best interface of any iOS this app game I’ve played. Tried it out cause I love their Sudoku and I was not disappointed. Very clean, intuitive, good animations etc. For the record, I have paid for no ads because I did like it very much so it was worth it. It’s genuinely unplayed with the ads so treat it like a free trial with them and just buy it if you like.

My only complaints

It’s a resource hog. Idk what is going on but a card game is easily my biggest battery destroyer. 30 minutes playing this on the bus and I go from 90% to 65% and my phone is hot to the touch. Not sure what that is about

The automatic game ending with “no moves” is wrong. There have been countless times that I have a clear move available that will reveal a card on the board but it tells me no moves remaining. Insanely frustrating when going for a high score. There’s a chance that the game knows what card is about to be revealed so it ends it prematurely but you have to see how this is frustrating for a player

All that said it’s still 4/5 for me. Fix my two issues there and it is easily the best this app game on mobile.

Like the Game mechanics, but missing an important feature

Overall the game play is good and the ads are tolerable for a free game. There’s one ad platform that crashes any other audio apps running in the background so those could be replaced with the ones that don’t. One feature that’s missing that I find frustrating is the ability to give up on a game that’s not going to be able to be won.

If you use all the hints, and the joker, then you can get to the “no moves available option”, but it requires watching like 10 ads to gracefully give up on the game. I would like to see a give up option that gracefully exits the game so I can start a new one without going through the ads. If I go back to the main menu to start a new game, I can only do this about 3 times until Solitaire glitches and I have to close and reopen to start a new game. Also the longer I play, the odds of Solitaire locking up increase. So I can really only play 3 regular games before Solitaire has to be closed and reopened to continue playing.

It’s fun, but there’s one major issue

I enjoy playing this game and the daily challenges, and the events are fun, but the only issue is the ads. They are SO ANNOYING!!!!! There is literally an ad after EVERY SINGLE GAME and during the game it will randomly interrupt your game for a stupid ad. And if you move a card when it wants you to watch an ad, it will just go back to the game but keep trying to put an ad in. Even more annoying, they ALWAYS show the EXACT SAME ADS EVERY TIME, which gets sooooooooo old, especially royal match ads, and social media ads (I’M 13, I’M NOT EVEN ALLOWED ON SOCIAL MEDIA, SO STOP SHOWING ME ADS ABOUT IT!!!!!!) The only good thing about the ads is that you can choose to watch an ad to get more hints or a joker, which you can place any card on when no moves are available.

It’s Solitaire

It’s a good app, has randomly generated games and lots of challenges to keep you busy. I’m not here to talk about the good things on Solitaire , I just want to ask about the lag bro. It’s literally this app, I know you ain’t breaking out some GTA V type software to run the game. I don’t get why but the game randomly will fall like 12 clicks behind randomly, you’ll stare at the screen and think it crashed but then Solitaire will apply all 12 clicks on screen simultaneously. What dude is just running a this app app off a Windows 95 computer in his basement in Russia. Solitaire is seriously good and if you like card puzzles I’d strongly recommend it but I’m just baffled that a mobile game of this app random decides to run like I’m playing on my iPodTouch from 2011.

I like it BUT

This is a fun game and I like the layout and mechanics but when I originally dowloaded this game a few years ago it was marketed as not having a bunch of ads in the middle of your game. That is no longer the case and it’s really annoying. I was ok with the ads after the games but it interrupts the game every so often with ads. Just about all games are like this now and I find it extremely frustrating because you can’t enjoy anything anymore without receiving an interruption every few minutes for some brain rot ad for another game or a money scam.

The game is fun though. I doubt this issue will be fixed but I wanted to complain just in case the creators decide to do so.

Great App, Too Many Ads Cause Problems

Overall, like Solitaire . It’s easy to maneuver within Solitaire to access play options (regular game, daily challenge, post card challenges) and access settings. The design is clean and the game functions/animations run very smoothly. One serious issue I have with Solitaire , which is why I removed 1 star, is the high volume of ads. I completely understand that this brings revenue to the developers, but Solitaire constantly running ads was inhibiting game play by being extremely disruptive and it was requiring an excessive amount of energy. If I play this game off of airplane mode it drains the battery of my phone very rapidly and causes my phone to heat up to a point where it stops functioning properly until it cools down. Would recommend the developers consider a different way to run ads on Solitaire that doesn’t risk the overall functionality of the device!

The Best Solitaire App Available

I love this app, I play it every day when I need to kill some time, and when I watch TV. In this day and age, ads are inevitable in apps, and Solitaire is no different; however, where Solitaire differs from others is how amazing the remove ads feature is. Normally, when you pay to remove ads, it just removes the banner ads and the pop-ups, but when you pay to remove ads with Solitaire, you don’t have to watch ads for the hint or undo buttons. These features make the game so much nicer and more casual to play. This is the only app I’ll play this app on, and I absolutely love it.

Just the deck and me

Two months ago I didn’t give this 5 stars. A new update reduced card sizes with no way I can find to change that. Being almost blind, I like larger cards especially since the screen space is there on a 12+ in iPad Pro. Also the “hint” tab functions somewhat smarter, but is more inflexible.

I’ve played the game over 2500 times now, but still get error messages when I don’t tap a card exactly right. Small card size and poor eyesight make the message appear way more frequently than I need.

I retract my card size complaint. Just rotating the iPad to portrait view makes everything very readable, duh!

My new complaint is the “awesome” message no matter if I take 2 minutes or 8 minutes to finally finish a game. Something like need more practice, fair, good, very good, excellent, awesome would be better feedback...

I especially like the new way cards are flipped. That’s real attention to detail.

Great game- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

this app is a great game with lots of different categories for where to play. There’s an adventure category, where each game of this app is finished, you unlock a space on a board so you can see the adventure. There is also a challenge of the day where you can play this app to play as many days done in a month as possible. Once you finish the challenge for the day you’re on, you can go back and play past days. Finally, there’s a tournament. I never play the tournament, but I’m pretty sure you try to rank up based off of how good you are at this app. Overall, this is an amazing app and I highly encourage you to try it.
