Not a practical app at all for iPad

Functionality is almost as smooth as the iPhone’s, so on that bar it s not bad. However, the fact that you have to have your phone not only on the same network but have WhatsApp opened on the iPhone for the iPad WhatsApp to remain open makes this app completely pointless. FB Messenger beats WhatsApp in this regard, which I feel is the most important. When I get home, I toss my phone aside, and can seamlessly continue on FB messenger, which stays connected, and has full and functional push notifications on all devices, not just iPhone. WhatsApp iPad fails miserably here. If you want to use this app on iPad, and you don’t mind having the iPhone open right next to it with WhatsApp on iPhone also open, then you won’t mind this app. If you’re like me, and you chuck the iPhone aside when you feel like using the iPad, this app won’t let you.

The worst implementation possible

This is app has one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had on iOS. Push notifications don’t even work, so you literally have to open the app to know if you’ve been messaged. However, the app will send notifications reminding you it exists! Multiple times the app has sent a notification saying “send notifications with WhatsPad!” It’s the most annoying app on my iPad. Not to mention the scroll view is buggy, and the interface is squashed & not formatted for the iPad screen at all. Overall, one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. The developers should be ashamed of this abomination, and work on making an experience that is user focused instead of geared for max ad views.

Horrible on iPad

I use the iPhone version and it works great, but on iPad there are too many glitches. If you need to insert the cursor to correct a mistake, the text window you're typing in switches from the bottom of the screen to the middle of the screen, but doesn't insert the cursor, so you try again, but now it switches back to the bottom of the screen, but still no cursor. It's quicker to erase everything after your mistake and retype it all than it is to try and insert the cursor at a different point in your text. And opening the app and conversations takes forever. I have time to thumb through Instagram while I wait for the app to open and my conversation to load.
