4.6 out of 5
Great for 3.5e Core, Useless for anything else

Whoever said RPGScribePathfinder35 supports supplemental rule books is entirely wrong, at least as far as D&D 3.5 is concerned. Only supports core PHB1 classes, and custom class creation is useless as it doesn’t support by-level stats or custom effects (e.g. Warmage edge, which I get in particular might be hard to do in a generic way), but 3.5 has been out so long there is no reason to not support additional classes. For the core classes, however, it does excel, despite small bugs such as failure to calculate skill synergies during entry (does show them correctly afterwards, but can be disconcerting while entering) and clumsy entry support for special items (have to add them to your “backpack” first, and then add them to your worn equipment. Would be easier to be able to add from either and specify worn at the time). If the developer could address its shortcomings, it would be the best character tracking app bar none.

Useful but lacking

I like RPGScribePathfinder35 and everything it can do but it is severely lacking in content. I know it’s a lot to expect to have every little thing in pathfinder but seeing as this is one of the few apps you have to pay for i would expect a bit more. There are no prestige classes and a lot of archetypes are missing, the enchant system is manual which is a little difficult for new players/users, and there is a big chunk of items that just aren't there and hard to implement. Something as simple as the backpack isn't even in the catalog.

Now i know it seems like i’m just ranting about the bad here but it’s more likes what i want to see added. There are plenty of good things in RPGScribePathfinder35 like the easy to use spellbook system and the intuitive stat/skill adjustments. You can even make your own status conditions if the right one doesn't exist in the database. I think RPGScribePathfinder35 is good but it could be so much better with a little more time and effort in the little things.

Good, but

Having never played pathfinder I thought I would use RPGScribePathfinder35 to help me out. Now with that said I’ve some of the books and figures this would make it easier. Then I started using it and the areas I wanted help with it was lacking. It’s also missing several hybrid classes. Now yes they have added some so it’s heading in the right direction. So I thought adding them would be simple and it’s relatively easy but then you can’t make your own archetypes. Ok fine. The copy option makes it easier. But then when I went to finalize some ideas, I went to change racial traits and couldn’t do that either. I figured RPGScribePathfinder35 would make it easier to keep track of what I had replaced. And it does, by not having that option. Now it does have some traits. And it has pretty much every feat ever, but it’s equipment section seems lacking to me. Overall it’s good but for what I wanted it either doesn’t seem to have what I want or it’s hidden.

Best 1e app for Apple…

It is the best 1e app for Apple. However other options are more complete and there are new PC options so now there’s really no reason to pay money for RPGScribePathfinder35 anymore. I did pay money and I don’t regret it, I even tipped because I really enjoyed the continued support and communication from the devs. RPGScribePathfinder35 is really good at what it does and I really enjoyed using it. However, I’ve moved on to 2e and despite the developer saying that it’s coming I honestly don’t believe it. This might be a passion project from 1e/3.5 diehards or 2e just isn’t a priority. I don’t begrudge the devs that at all but I’m porting over to Pathbuilder2e and I’m also using Wanderers Guide on the PC and they are doing an amazing job. TLDR: If you’re stuck with Apple it’s the best 1e app, otherwise there are better options. Also don’t hold your breath for 2e support. I know I’m not.

Great app, would like more functionality

This is a great app as is, however not all things that have been published are out there. It would be nice if the database was more fleshed out, and it would be nice if more of the fill in spots had some more versatility. The language area in specific should have custom language options for more personalized campaigns. It would also be nice to have a note taking system outside of characters, or a GM/game building side to RPGScribePathfinder35 .

Other than those things, this is probably the best pathfinder app out there that I have tried, and the spell book in particular is nice and feels organic. Great job, just needs a little more personalization capabilities to get 5 stars from me.

THE Pathfinder app for 1e

RPGScribePathfinder35 has most everything you need and definitely a HUGE help in learning the system flawlessly. I do say almost because it doesn’t have every archetype within the expansion pack but the developers are actively updating and implementing them so you will have to be patient for everything to eventually be rolled out.

The layout is clean and very easy to understand while also being quite modular. If there is one improvement I would like to make, it would be the option to edit existing characters to incorporate future archetypes that have yet to be added to a class. Other than that, RPGScribePathfinder35 gives you the option to add your own classes, feats, items, spells and even languages just to name a few.

So far this has been the best option on the market and by a long shot. The cost for the expansion pack is almost too generous considering it incorporates everything + future updates while being a free app initially, and it’s a small price to pay to support the developers into giving us better content. All in all, I highly recommend it!

What a great app!

I’ve been using RPGScribePathfinder35 for a while now, and I’ve got to say I’m really impressed with it! For those of you on the fence it is absolutely worth the few dollars. It saves me loads of time as a DM making characters! I’m talking hours saved! There’s so many references to characters, items, prestige classes and spells that you don’t need to be constantly looking through your players handbook anymore! (they just added animal companions!)

If you play 3.5 then this is a must buy!

(PS to developers, can you please add the weapon “maul”? Several of my characters use them and I would be very happy to see it in RPGScribePathfinder35 ! Thanks! :D)

Amazing

RPGScribePathfinder35 is honestly really amazing and has made creating a character so easily now. RPGScribePathfinder35 gives you the option to switch between Pathfinder and DND 3.5. The classes and races that RPGScribePathfinder35 provides are the basics from the core books. However, they allow you to add a custom class with whatever benefits and disadvantages a regular class might have. I would say the best thing about RPGScribePathfinder35 is the fact that it keeps track of your equipment. You’re carrying capacity your health and it’s free. I highly recommend it. Give it a shot test it out. Can’t go wrong.

Easy to use, continually adding new content

RPG Scribe is very easy to use to get a character up and running, with enough content to get into some pretty loaded characters. Updates come often and a lot of content has been added to pathfinder recently, including additional races. You can also add custom content, which I’ve used to add spells from content that hasn’t been added yet. Although in my experience, as soon as I add something like this, it gets added almost immediately.

I would like to see the addition of pathfinder unchained, and the ability to incorporate companions and familiars, but I’m sure this is just a matter of time.

Irreplaceable

From the ground running this will enable both players and dms the ability to create characters on the fly. I love the ability to make all my noteworthy npcs and bosses quickly and smoothly. It tracks all important information like spell uses, weapons, money, armor ratings feats and skills smoothly. Without this you can spend 30 minutes to hours making a character (especially if you are new to the game or class). With this it’s a matter of minutes even if exploring new races or classes. I strongly recommend the expansion pack, even more so if your whole crew is running RPGScribePathfinder35. You have the opportunity to run campaigns that were either a stretch or impossible with the base pathfinder game.

Such a great app

I use RPGScribePathfinder35 quite a bit with my Pathfinder gaming, both as a player and a GM. I really appreciate the easy to use interface and all the content they put into it. A few times I have been in situations to run a flash game spur of the moment and RPGScribePathfinder35 is great, but I’ve had to use another app for dice. If there was a way to incorporate a mechanic for rolling attack, damage, saving throws and skills straight from their menus, then RPGScribePathfinder35 would be perfect and all I would need to play a game no matter where I am. Thank you so much for all the time you put into making RPGScribePathfinder35 a cut above the rest.

Edit: Still loving the hell out of RPGScribePathfinder35, but is there a chance we could get the Sleepless Detective prestige class please?

Solid design and active Dev

You know, in an era where you have Herolab running a subscription model and WOTC being just plain evil... it's nice to have a tool that gives direct and simple access. I've been using RPGScribe for a hot minute to manage my theorycrafting and characters for my in-person games. It works beautifully for many things that you would need it for, and only falls short in niche use-cases. And by falling short, I don't mean like it's utterly a failure, but it's just things that are rarely touched on and wouldn't need to BE a priority.

As an example, I recently started running an Undead Lord Cleric, which opens up some interesting undead companion stuff. While the archetype IS in the system, the ability to set up a templated undead is not. Would the average player run into this? Most Likely not.

The vast majority of use-cases are covered, especially for the new players that need to keep track of many things at once. I look forward to the future development of this Application into something to rival the current tools.

Note: Please add an option to disable any and all 3PP from the database.

Great app, but maybe not if you like tons of non-standard options

I’m not normally one to pay for an app, but I think that this one was worth the $2.99 for RPGScribePathfinder35 itself and the $4.99 for the Pathfinder upgrade. I play in a play-by-post group and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been out somewhere and unable to update because I needed to refer to something on my character sheet, which I keep at home on my computer! I especially love that it makes all most of the calculations you need for you.

That said, it does not have every single Pathfinder option ever released. Among the things missing, I noted story feats, animal companion-specific feats, the elemental arcane schools for wizards, as well as most magical items that aren’t worn in one of the slots and many of the mundane items, though you can add some of those yourself. I also could not figure out how to add magic properties to weapons, though that may be a user error on my part.

But if you don’t need to venture too deeply into every PF option ever offered, RPGScribePathfinder35 should work just fine for you.

Best Pathfinder App

Hands down, this is the best pathfinder app on the market. As a new player, I can’t imagine playing without it! It’s the first thing I recommend to other players as well. The customization is awesome, too! You can even create custom conditions to toggle when using certain feats and weapons that alter character stats. So useful!

The only thing I wish it had was the ability to select custom icons when creating new items, rather than the default base one. A few items are missing too (instruments for bards, outfit options, improvised weapons). Also, syncing to Dropbox or iCloud would be a nice option for those of us with multiple devices. There is an export/import feature, but even so, auto sync would be nice.

All said, buy RPGScribePathfinder35 and the upgrade. You’ll be glad you did!

Great app for Pathfinder

I’m a DM and player and RPGScribePathfinder35 has made all the difference in the world. I’m able to create varied and interesting NPC’s easily and with very little hassle. RPGScribePathfinder35 has an abundance of rules and content from most the core rulebooks! It even got my wife more into character creation and that was her most hated part, but RPGScribePathfinder35 makes it easy and takes the boring calculations out of 90% of it. As some users have said it does not have every rulebook and spell out there from all the AP’s and books ever released, but it has a TON.
It’s also always growing! Every month they release new content with more archetypes, races, and classes! I look forward to it every month. I’ve made well over 300 characters with RPGScribePathfinder35 and strongly recommend it for any and all Pathfinder use.

Become more powerful than your DM

I recommend RPGScribePathfinder35 to everyone. I have a group of friends who likes to play one shot campaigns and they have to make a new character each session. With RPGScribePathfinder35 I’m able to create full characters in minutes while completely understanding race traits, skills, feats, and spells by the time it takes them to decide on a class.
I discovered a small glitch in a feat and emailed the RPG scribe team, they responded promptly and even noted the change on the apps update notes within a few days. RPGScribePathfinder35 is constantly improving and is already infinitely better than pencil and paper. My entire campaign is now run using RPGScribePathfinder35 and the resources RPGScribePathfinder35 provides makes it easy to become as knowledgeable as the DM. (Well worth purchasing the expansion pack.)

I don’t have ties to this company, I’m just a very satisfied customer ⚔️

Best D&D character manager I’ve used.

RPGScribePathfinder35 is incredible, and here are my favorite features that make it perfect: 1. The ability to make custom items, Feats, etc. that are then all automatically calculated into your ability scores, AC, etc. for you. 2. Custom trackers. My DM will often create new skills or abilities and being able to set them up and track usage/and reset free each rest is so very helpful. 3. Organization. RPGScribePathfinder35 has the best workflow I’ve seen. Everything is easy to find and easy to work with. 4. Last but not least, the developers are CONSTANTLY making improvements. There are updates with improvements so often, it is obvious they love RPGScribePathfinder35 as much as the players who use it. Drop whatever app you’ve been using and purchased this today. You’ll be glad you did.

Missing LOTS of info but really well made

So, I’m playing a Seducer Witch with the Enchanting Courtesan Prestige Class and even though literally NONE of the information I need to PLAY this character are on RPGScribePathfinder35 , it DOES have this really great “Custom” feature that allows you to fill in the missing gaps which has worked pretty well. I paid for all the bonus packs, thinking my missing information was in one of them, but I’m honestly not even mad about it because RPGScribePathfinder35 is fairly well done and the team seem very hands on and eager to help. Vvvv Having someone actually CARE enough to help me figure out how to build my character made me feel like I was dealing with a friend. Which is amazing. Also, they update information CONSTANTLY. I feel like every time I log on, I see “we’ve got an update, would you like to download it now?” 🥰

Great App, especially for casual/new/returning players

It had been a couple decades since I played D&D. I picked up RPGScribePathfinder35 a couple years ago for a Pathfinder campaign. I thought it was useful/cool enough at the time to drop a couple bucks and pick up the expansion. But our campaign fizzled out after a short time and it sat unused until a couple weeks ago.
RPGScribePathfinder35 makes creating a character a breeze even for novice players. Equipment management took a little bit to figure out how to use, but it works great once you understand what’s going on. What was once a rather daunting exercise in “getting up to speed” to create/manage a character is now simple and mostly automated.
I recommend having the Players Handbook available to reference tables and descriptions while using RPGScribePathfinder35 , though the built in descriptions are really good too.
Game play with RPGScribePathfinder35 is fantastic. Swap weapons, manage conditions, leveling up; it’s all pretty straight forward and logical.
Props and a big “Thank you” to the devs.

Amazing app

As a huge D&D fan and what feels like a Forever DM I love RPGScribePathfinder35 I have all of my players download it so we can all be on The same page for characters, the ease of use creating a character is awesome I teach a lot of new players using RPGScribePathfinder35 and I spend a lot of time crafting items and NPC with it.

A few things I think would be amazing to have it the ability to add a picture to your character, another thing is animals such as horses can get the armor feats but have no way to equip said armor

Just food for thought, keep up the amazing work can’t wait to see what comes next
