Star walk 2 is my go to app to find what I am seeing in the sky. It’s not great, most everything is behind a paywall, but it does the trick. That has now changed with my first purchase of the “satellite” pack purchase. Since I purchased it, every swipe/gesture/press or anything at all triggers an ad where there was not one before. It completely ruins the app. I did not spend my money on your product to suddenly be inundated every 3-5 seconds with a full page trump/pence ad. I would be upset with any extra ads after spending hard earned money...but it is a slap in the face to have my phone display the name of a criminal egomaniac every few seconds. I have requested a refund and will be deleting your app after my refund is processed. I’ll make sure to avoid all apps from this publisher for life. Good day, you’ve lost a customer.
Response to publisher : I did see ads the entire time I’ve used your app, so your bug guess is not accurate. what I did NOT experience before paying you for an upgrade was trump slogans splashed across my screen multiple times between every touch of the screen. I don’t use your app any more, I’ve got no interest in ads to the point of making the app unusable. I also have no desire when I’m stargazing to have politics shoved in my face repeatedly, there’s enough of that these days.

I purchased the full “ad-free+” bundle and most of the ads disappeared, but they still send advertisements through the notification system. The last one said “Grab all-in-one Bundle with a huge discount” which is clearly trying to sell me something and thus an ad. When I complained, they said it was not an ad but a notification and I could turn it off. But notifications are an otherwise good feature of the app which tells you of astronomical events, so no, I want to keep them on, but without the ads that I payed extra not to see. They finally “thanked me for my opinion”. Nothing was done about this. Don’t pay extra for ad-free as they will not honor it. There are other astronomical apps out there, hopefully more honest.
......Thank you to the developer for replying. To the developer my answer is: a message about “sales and special offers” is a message selling something, which is an advertisement. It’s an ad. To think that it isn’t an ad because you sent it through the notification system is wrong. It’s not just that they “bother” me. I paid your fee for no ads. So don’t send ads. Give me what I paid for. It’s that simple.

... but some features don’t work so well, or I haven’t figured out how to use them. For example, when moving my iPad pointing at the sky, it’s not displaying the right direction. I may be looking north but it is showing west, even after calibrating it. If I can get some of these important features to work I’ll buy it but without them it’s worthless, even as a free app. A HUGE issue is that I am trying the free version to see how I like it but the ads make it virtually impossible. You can’t exit some of the ads, sometimes you get 4 or 5 ads in a row, you get a new ad(s) when you touch the screen and you have to calibrate it every minute or so.
I also read a review by “angleyes715” who bought it but can’t restore her purchase after changing phones - and customer support won’t help with it.
That’s a deal breaker, time to delete the app. Too bad, it had such great potential but there are too many similar apps to waste time on one without customer support.
