NOT WORTH MONEY

NOT WORTH THE MONEY!
Difficult to swipe backwards (in fact I CANT) to delete unwanted text! IMPOSSIBLE to do. I’ve wasted more time trying to delete....
Special characters? Nope can’t get them either!
TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!
DONT PURCHASE!!!!!!!!!!

A disappointed.

The space bar backspace and deletion reverse does not work. I am using an iPhone 15 with iOS 18.1. I hope the Typewise developers fix this issue soon. If this keyboard worked well it be incredible software.

Trying to figure tuis out

I love the larger key layout on this, but im havng trouble with the auto-correct function in that it seems to be not behaving as I would expect it to. For example, if i want to say that im ready to do something, the i's don't get capitalized and i don't always get the apostrophies to insert where they should, so i am having to go back to manually correct the multiple mistakes i make by not swiping up or holding the long press as I need to do. I have the auto-correct turned on in the settings, but it doesn't seem to do what I expect it to do. Im on an iphone 7, did I miss something or what? BTW, I love the privacy that is promised, but Im used to seeing the auto-correct options above the keyboard and being able to tap the correction from there. So, what am i missing?

I used to have a blackberry..

I used to have blackberry keyone, so when I switched to the iPhone it was very difficult for me to type fast. I tried out the free version of TypewiseOfflineKeyboard and found I typed a little faster than the regular keyboard. I got the paid offline version. Lately though when I tried switching back, I've realized that I am actually faster on the original iPhone keyboard. Still not as fast or as accurate as on my blackberry (gosh how I miss physical keyboard), but definitely a whole lot faster than when I use Typewise. The one feature I wish I could keep on the iPhone keyboard is sliding to delete. Every keyboard should have that feature. Other than that, there isn't a reason for me to use the Typewise keyboard.

Getting there

I read a review of TypewiseOfflineKeyboard and decided to give it a try. I'm a chronic fat-fingerer. The tutorial was mostly fine and I like the way the keyboard is layed out and in fact, I believe for typing it's probably a better alternative to QWERTY, but two things stood out that are kind of linked: First, I couldn't figure out how to revert back to QWERTY once the WRIO keyboard was activated. Maybe I just missed it, but I swear, I thought I was trapped. Why would I need to do that you ask? Well, reason number two is that there doesn't appear to be any access to voice texting through WRIO, which I use on the go a lot. So I couldn't get out of WRIO and back to QWERTY to access voice texting.
TypewiseOfflineKeyboard has promise, but still more work to do. If I just "missed" how to do this (there is no manual or help feature), please feel free to post how to do it.

Too much of a departure from standard keys

I wanted to like this keyboard, but the key positions are too different from where the keys "belong". My typing speed was abysmally slow. Kudos for trying something different.

I keep trying

I've tried every update. I want to love it but I always delete it after a few days. It doesn't work with most apps. The spell check has never worked. I'm always disappointed.

The delete function bugs out

Hey on the hexagon keyboard the swipe to delete only works half the time. It’s annoying and I would like a refund but there no way to contact you. Otherwise it’s good but autocorrect doesn’t always work too.

Long Way to Go, but Getting There

I love this keyboard desperately. The design is so polished and such a realistic improvement from the default keyboard; the swiping and holding effects are placed perfectly, and the color selections are tasteful. Nonetheless, it crashes and lags so often I have to revert back to the default apple keyboard for sometimes days at a time. The autocorrect changes correctly-spelled words to typos (or at least words so obscure they look like acronyms), or correctly-spelled words to other words that look similar to the original. Having autocorrect on at all even lags the input behind by entire seconds.
It needs some work, but I wouldn't ever want to delete TypewiseOfflineKeyboard. I'd love to see it improve in the coming months and years. So close to being worth the price of admission

Interesting Concept, Lacking In Certain Areas

I like the basic concept. The drastic change in the keyboard layout is refreshing. It does, however, have some flaws that bug me.

The top row doesn't seem sensitive enough. I'll occasionally go to type a t or an i and it won't register.

Text substitution not allowing for special characters is a huge letdown. I use Apple's built in text substitution both to type the interrobang (‽) and to type various ascii emoji. The lack of versatility in the text substitution feature on this keyboard heavily stymies that.

On top of lack of versatility in text substitution, the absence of a shift key of some kind and forced reliance on the swipe up to capitalize gesture makes typing in ALL CAPS really annoying.

Finally, the autocorrect seems way off. It misses obvious mistakes like woth (should be with), it won't autocorrect contractions like don't or shouldn't at all, and it wrongly corrects words like app to alp!

Intuitive and functional

I was really surprised by how easy it was to adapt to the new keyboard layout. I feel like spending more time in it will help reach the advertised 70% percent speed gain. To the people who say that you're stuck using it, press the 123 key and then the globe key on the following set of characters. I feel like it's a little slow to switch, and the punctuation is not very intuitive. While it is clear and easy to find symbols, it takes a bit of extra time to find what you need sometimes.

The only keyboard that I use

There is a learning curve but it is totally worth it. In the early days, the autocorrect used to be a huge issue but it has been corrected and so now the typing experience is absolutely superb!

Love it

Didn't take long to get good at it. Swipe back to delete works great. Love the two space keys. Pro version has lots of neat added features. You can edit and learn autocorrect words. Best feature - 100% offline.

Great Alternative Keyboard

Typewise PRO is a excellent replacement for the iOS keyboard. I love its hexagonal layout.
Unlike many other keyboard Apps your data is secure since it does not leave your device. Word predication improves as you use TypewiseOfflineKeyboard .
In addition, the developers are extremely responsive to user feedback. The frequent updates are more often improvements rather than bug fixes.

Newcomer

I'm always up to try new keyboards for iOS. Since Fleksy has stopped development I've been in dire need of a good replacement. Giving Wrio a shot. 5 stars for concept & layout.

😍FINALLY!!!

I have gone through so many keyboards and every time i get let down; ice had this keyboard and it just wasn't working for me,
____---!! Then i get this alert or something and it tells me this key just got an update ---- l say FINAlly because i now have the ultimate keyboard!! THANK YOU!!! I love it ! Everything with this keyboard is amazing! It Beyond worth the learning curve because the more you use it the more awesome it becomes!!!

Different

This keyboard is neat! It takes some time to get used to but its very funnnn to use!!

Updated review

Edited review, have been using the beta version for the next release and this keyboard is about to get a lot better. After awhile it gets to feel amlot morelnatural and comfortable than the stock keyboard. I wouldn't necessarily say it is faster than the standard keyboard, but it definitely feels better to type on even if you are really probably typing the same speed. Also the gestures really help with only having to type tings once. Really shares a lot of similarities with Fleksy another great keyboard.

Terrific!

I've been using WRIO for about three weeks. The first major re-think of a mobile keyboard I think actually works. Very high learning curve as you might imagine (at least for this old man trying to learn new tricks), but my accuracy is way up, I think my speed will be, and I find it hard to go back to the standard keyboard in the few apps it won't work with. The use of swipe for capitalixation, delete and restore, and to reassign keys to special charactors mean all of these tasks can be done with fewer key strokes and one-handed. Woth the effort to learn the modified layout, and highly recommended.

The keyboard I need

The design of this keyboard is what my fingers need. There was a learning curve, but the amount of mis-typed characters is so much lower with the Typewise keyboard, that the learning curve was well worth the effort!!
