Zocal is basically a platform for local conversations. The news feeds are split by city so you can browse content thatβs specific to a place. Great app!

I was always cautious of using Snapchat's Map, Google Latitude, or any other location app with my friends. They broadcast your exact location and with everything that's happening around the world that is so unsafe!! What I love about Zocal is that it shares only your city and doesn't show people your exact location. This I can get on board with.

I always felt I knew what was happening around the US but was out of touch of what was happening in my own city. You can follow NY Times, CNN, and a few other news accounts on Zocal will filter the news by city. Simple enough, but yet quite a fun user experience.
