There's a small problem...

While this free app has pretty decent graphics, sound and a nice sort feature and offers several minor variations of rummy to choose from (hence the two stars), it also has a fatal flaw. It occasionally re-deals discards later in the game. I thought at first I was imagining it, so I kept track and yes, it happened at least once in most of the games. Bizarre. Another flaw in the algorithm is how frequently, after discarding one card of a pair (like 8-8), a third card of that kind will be dealt from the deck on the next round. Bummer.
Scores for boxes don’t show.

I have been playing several games in each mode and the box score and the total score tabs do not open! This seems like such a basic function to be failing totally that it makes me wonder about the skill level of the ai. I have noticed that it tends to pick up card and then discard it on the next turn more often than I would expect. I can not be certain of the ai issue but the scores not showing is for sure.

Sorry to say after playing several hundred games of Gin in this app, the AI is so bad I almost never lose anymore. Total lack of challenge makes this app incredibly boring after a while.
Want proof? All you have to do is keep discarding the highest cards in your hand, only pick up from the discard pile if the displayed card card is lower than your highest card or if it can be melded immediately. Oh, and NEVER knock. That's it. Simply stick to your guns with this simple strategy and you will win about twice as many games as you lose. This is because the stupid AI knocks so much that as long as you stick to this strategy the AI I'll either win minimal points for each knock, or you will undercut. It's so simple it's embarrassing.
