Reisepässe werden nicht erkannt
App has issues detecting latest Gen passports. Spent literally hours on the getting the App to scan the passport. The
app however, had no issues scanning an old gen passport though.
There is no way you can get the app to scan your passport. As there is no other way forward, the app is just useless.

AustralianETA scannt den Pass nicht, egal was man auch versucht. Absolut unnütz, da es ohne Scan nicht weitergeht. Es bleibt nur die eVisa Beantragung über die Webseite.
I also tried everything. Different lighting, angles and it’s just not working. Even when my eyes see no glare, it gets stuck on „Document processing!“. Are there plans to correct the glitch? The app is clearly not working as it should.
Habe mehrere Stunden versucht meinen deutschen Pass (neueste Version) einzuscannen. Hat nicht geklappt. Hab alle möglichen Winkel, Lichtverhältnisse und und und probiert…
Ich bin nun schon 2 Stunden erfolglos damit beschäftigt, die Fotoseite des Passes (neueste deutsche Version) zu fotografieren. Habe bereits alle möglichen Winkel, Lichter und sogar Räume und Gärten ausprobiert, sogar einen verdammten Kopfstand mit pass und iPhone gemacht. Auch mit dem Samsung Phone meiner Freundin klappt es nicht. An und für sich ist AustralianETA eine gute Idee, aber der Foto-Prozess sollte überarbeitet werden.
The app just wont scan my passport
Can’t scan the passport, can’t read the chip.
However tried a German app with the same passport without problems.
AustralianETA scannt den Pass einfach nicht nein. Man hängt dort einfach fest.
Wer baut nur sowas? 🙈
Es hat Stunden gedauert, um die Reisepässe einzuscannen!
The app is not functionable, I cannot take the photo of my passport, its stuck in „Document Processing…“. Tried raising a ticket but could not do so due to a technical issue. I hope this will start to work before my trip..

Do not download this app. I applied for visa and waited for almost 3 weeks but no status updated at all. When I go to the official Australian ETA website and ask them about this, they said that my application is not in their database. I have even paid the fee to apply the visa! Very disappointed.
Alles funktioniert, aber das Abbilden des Passes ist langandauernd und nicht nachzuvollziehen.

Absolutely love this app! It’s easy, guides you through the process & with automatically reading your passport data there’s no doubts anymore whether you misspelled a letter e.g. in your passport no. That’s how it should be done! :-)

The ETA allows eligible passport holders to travel to Australia for short term stays for tourism or business visitor purposes.
From 21 February 2022 all visa holders who are fully vaccinated for international travel purposes can travel to Australia without a travel exemption.
Unvaccinated visa holders will still need a valid travel exemption to enter Australia.
Grant of an ETA through the app does not mean you have been considered for or granted an exemption to travel to Australia.
