Sign on

I like playing this game. However, I can’t even login with my info. I don’t know why it logs you out each time.

Broken

Would not let me sign in with my Goethe Account and kept losing connection to the server. I literally copied and pasted and typed my password in but it wouldn’t take it.

Wirklich?

Leute Leute Leute

Sever connection

This is a excellent app for me to learn German. However, the network connection isn’t so good. Every time when I played mini games, it took more time on refreshing. Sometimes I play game with people, it told me “The avatar was deleted”, but when I clicked the same person again, their account were still there. Also I was logged out several times, it took me a lot of time on re log in. The sever connection seem to be a big issue. Please fix them.

Looks nice, but audio doesn’t work

I have a lot of high hopes for LernDeutsch provided that the audio bug is worked out — I’m on an iPhone 6s+ running the latest iOS. The alp looks really nice, and since it’s from the Goethe Institute, I know the instruction will be good.

No sound!

I saw LernDeutsch on Goethe website and I was so excited but neither the game on the website nor LernDeutsch have any sounds on my device!

tricked into

You did not or I miss this when reading about this program that I would be playing the games online against a person not the program itself.
That is a no for me and your program has been deleted.

Good Concept, Several Issues

The game concept is good and ONE of the two mini games is very helpful for practicing memory of new words learnt, but the server connection is not great and literally every single time I log on, my friend list is reduced to around 60 players. I HIGHLY doubt that 20-40 people have deleted their accounts between the times that I log off and log back in, as this happens every time even if I've only been away for 10 minutes or less. I also have an issue where I'll be playing a mini game with a particular player who has been consistently online and we are both learning and getting better, and then suddenly I can no longer invite them to play a game with me, and it's not because they refuse to play the game with me, because the invitation won't send even if they are offline (a player can't reject a mini game invitation when they are offline, can they??)...also this only happens with the better of the two mini games (the one where you listen and write, not the silly speed game that doesn't actually help you learn the words). I am able to send invitations for the silly speed game but still can't send one for the better game. So developers, what gives?

My last comment is this - the game gets boring once you've learned all of the words. Please add more words, or if this is too expensive to keep the game kostenlos -- maybe you could provide a way to buy (for a reasonable price, like 0,99 for each bundle) a larger vocabulary set?

UPDATE: They've updated the game and awesome news is that they have added a way to increase vocabulary. The downside is that the thumbnails for the new words are much more complicated (busy) and will slow your speed and ruin your previous scores considerably in the games as you sluggishly try to figure out what each of these new photos are supposed to represent and then remember which new word goes with each busy photo. 🤦🏻‍♀️

UPDATE x 2: The busy pictures are ok after getting used to them. Still leaving the review at three stars because I still can't send invites to several players that I've been regularly playing the mini games with. I can only send the speed game invite but not the word choice game. PLEASE fix this. It's extremely annoying.

UPDATE x 3: Very buggy (even more so than usual) lately. Also a misspelling (Verband plural was misspelled), and when you enter "der KFZ-Mechaniker" into the fill-in-the-blank, it tells you that you got it wrong but shows literally the same "der KFZ-Mechaniker" as the correct answer above my exact same crossed-out answer. ??? Also the lamer of the two games - the speed game - it bugged on me last night and so I played twice in a row against the same person and my second score went as their score, and then I received a notification saying it was my turn again but it was just me playing my side and then their side and then my side again... really bizarre bug. Also the way that the minigame invitations and completed notifications are set up is quite bad. You have to scroll for ages to see the completed notifications and get a chance to reinvite a player to play the game with you, but it's super easy to accidentally delete your completed notifications and then never get the chance to reinvite a player that you were playing with... please just put these completed notifications in a separate tab. Besides, it's super annoying to have to scroll through all of your existing sent and received games to get to them.

UPDATE x 4: Another complaint (yeah, I know, sorry): throughout the city of words you see other players around the world who are online appear. My complaint is that from day one I've seen a player reings and a player Baravatar and they never play the minigames and never will, it seems. Why must they always be online and appearing in the city??? Plenty of other people who are online and actually play the games rarely or never appear in the city, and believe me, I scour the city looking for people to play the minigames with.. most of the players I find linger in the city for weeks, never gain points, never play the games, and thus take up space that people who are actually trying to improve their word retention through practising in the better of the two games could fill. Why? Why are Dhievapoetry and avand always lingering in the city? They'll never play the games, so why are they always there???

How do you turn off challenges?

I just got the game, and I am not ready to play challenges yet. I like everything about the game so far, except that when I decline a challenge the person will try again and again. I just want to turn it off for now. I would like to turn it back on when I feel ready for that.

Organized but distracting

The educational content is well structured and written. However, objects on the screen bounce and wobble continually, making it very difficult to concentrate on the words without nausea.

Essential

LernDeutsch is very fun to use the whole city of words theme is amazing! It has helped me improve my German. I do wish I can reset some quests and do them over To have more stars though. I hope more new vocabulary is added gradually!

helps me learn a lot but question..

I really really enjoy LernDeutsch! I haven't been able to put it down since I got it this afternoon! Its absolutely perfect for beginners! I find it way more engaging than Duolingo and Busu...plus its free!! Its really helping me learn words and their gender so fast and easy...Super smart way to do things!

But I have a question, I would really like to participate in minigames but I do not understand how.
WhenI click that I want to challenge someone a message pops up saying that s message will be sent to me once they have completed their turn...But where do I receive the message and when can I have a go at the minigame and do I get to choose a topic?
There doesn'tseem to be much info about this.
I would love some help!
Cheers

Really Well Done

I was very impressed by the quality and attention to detail put into this game.
I do think there should be more variety in practicing words you already learned.
the game looks a tiny bit pixely on my iPad. I'm sure it looks great on a phone.

Nice

I love LernDeutsch

Maravilloso!

Esperando con ansias la segunda parte.
