App review

I have tried a lot of weather apps so far and this is by far the best one I've tried yet the only complaint I have about FreshAir is that you have to purchase the radar section of it, other than that I find it to be very accurate even on the long range forecast which is quite unusual. I have found it to be very pleasing and almost fun to use but personally I think if you're going to have a free app the whole thing should be free or the whole thing should be purchased not half-and-half. If you were going to make it an app that were to be purchased as a whole I would suggest a two or three week trial period for free after witch you would have the option to purchase or decline. I think the product that you offer would be purchased by most that had a chance to try it and see how well it works for themselves. In conclusion I would've given it five stars had it not been for the having to purchase the radar section in but overall I think it's a great app keep up the good work

Elegant and useful

Beautifully designed re both appearance and functionality, everything one needs to know to be prepared for any day's meteorological vagaries. The weather radar option is great.
Two very minor niggles:
1. It took me a while to figure out that tapping area for today at the bottom left of screen returns you to "now" time-of-day. However, while there are vertical lines to mark each midnight, sunrise & sunset during the period displayed, once you scroll forwards or backwards in time and leave the present time-of-day location in which FreshAir opens, there is no active permanent reference for "now" other than to look at the numeric time displayed just above the temperature profile—some sort of vertical line (say marked "Now"?) would be nice.
2. A vertical line cursor that moved along with the displayed time and day would be nice.
But all in all a great app!

Elegant UI, broken Today widget in iOS 10

Fresh Air provides a simple, graceful UI for horizontally scrolling through charts representing the predicted changes in the temperature, wind, precipitation, humidity, and cloud cover. Its clean, semi-minimalist design sets it apart in a field of cluttered, incoherent weather apps. It's great for visual learners like myself. So far its forecasts have been very accurate for me. My main regret is that FreshAir 's Today widget has apparently not been updated to work properly with iOS 10's Notification Center, so its layout gets all screwed up there (white text illegibly superimposed on a near-white background, and partially hidden numbers that can't be unhidden because there's no option to expand the widget to full size, at least in iOS 10 on an iPhone 6s). I'd like to make Fresh Air my main weather app, but I'm accustomed to glancing at the Today screen several times a day to quickly see the forecast and then clicking through to FreshAir if I want more details. So until the widget works correctly again, I guess I'll stick with BeWeather or WU Weather.

Very good...but

I’ve been a fan of FreshAir for a while. I’m a weather freak and love the detail it gives. Here’s my big gripe with FreshAir : on the left side of the screen is the time of day with notes like “clear” and as you swipe left or right, the time changes to show you where on the weather graph you are. So if you’re checking wind as I often do as a cyclist and you want to see when the peak is where winds are the strongest, as you scroll/move/swipe left to get there the time moves off the screen! Basically the time is only on screen, changing with the graph for about an hour’s worth of time. Not sure why the time can’t be fixed so that it’s always visible. It does, however stay on screen for as far back in time as FreshAir lets you go but who cares about the past when it comes to the weather??

Because of this feature I rarely use FreshAir anymore. Apple’s weather app shows me each hour at the top and an icon for basically what I can expect which is as good as I’m going to get until the developer’s fix FreshAir. Not sure why they would consider the current experience a good UX.

Almost perfect

This is a really great weather app. I love how it’ll show you the percentage of precipitation and the rise of temperatures throughout the day, when sunrise and sunset is (with coordinating colors), send out weather alerts, and the overall aesthetic graphics. The scrolling feature is also useful.

On that note, one thing I wish would get fixed is having the time move as you scroll along; it always gets cut off after a certain time, I believe within the 11:00am hour. I remember the scrolling time being part of FreshAir when I first got it, but I think there’s some type of bug that came with the last update. Would definitely love to see this feature fixed so I can give the last star!

Only weather app needed

This is by far the most aesthetically pleasing weather app I've seen. One minor thing, as others have said, the widget is a bit glitchy, as it isn't formatted for widget size and the writing is in white and therefore hard to see. It's minor enough that it still gets 5 stars, but hopefully that'll be fixed in one of the next few updates. I also really like the visual aspect and how you can see correlations between different aspects like temp and humidity for example. If you are visually oriented, definitely get FreshAir. I have the premium which I recommend bc you get rid of adds and get a weather radar (another added bonus) and it's only 3 dollars, plus as FreshAir says, you're supporting the small scale indie app maker.

Almost perfect.

Not only is FreshAir statistically pleasing, but it is comprehensive and runs smoothly on IOS 10. I've had no issues with "...nagging for location", and FreshAir is easily customized in its settings; the Today Widget also seems to be working flawlessly for me. I'm only giving it a 4 star solely because of its semi-functioning, basic featured, Apple Watch app... Integration seems incomplete; the AW complication fails to display any data and is therefore only useful as a shortcut to the main AW app. The AW app itself only offers the current temp and conditions and a scrollable "cards" styled weekly forecast... the scrollable hour by hour daily forecast, which the main app executes so well, is not offered.

By far the most attractive app visually and functionally

Like many people, I have a ton of weather apps. Some have lots of info. Some let you see far into the future. But this is FreshAir that I increasingly go to. It is good and speedy even on my old iPad (where it looks great, btw). The design is such that the most useful info is the easiest to see. The UI features a horizontally scrolling view that lets you see the projected temp, precipitation, total snowfall (helpful this year in the NE). One day runs into the next, so you can see how this day and the next and the next change over time. The colors change to indicate time of day, and noon, midnight, and sunrise and sunset.

Really wonderful app.

Great app, great UI, radar could be better

I've tried many of the weather apps on FreshAir Store including paid ones and this one seems like the best balance of everything. Great UI, gives you lots of info without being cluttered, accurate thus far. Tried Dark Sky for a while, but it wasn't right about rain even one single time. That app screwed up at every turn. I would change the radar though. It only shows 2 hours ago up until about 15 minutes ago. Won't show you what the radar is predicted to look like. Other than that I like it. Also the widget is messed up visually it needs to be adjusted.

Not working as it should

I downloaded FreshAir because I liked how I could see the weather conditions at specific times of the day. As you move your finger across the gradient/line, the time appears on the screen and tells you the exact conditions at respective times. This function has stopped working. You can now only see what the weather is at specific times in the morning hours. The time icon gets caught on the left side of the screen and disappears. Not sure why. But basically...you can no longer see what the weather will be at specific times of the day. Doesn’t even have an hourly forecast. Can only check sunrise and sunset rendering FreshAir pretty worthless. I hope it gets fixed because when it was working, FreshAir was perfect.

Beautiful and useful - Just one suggestion

FreshAir is everything you want from a weather app and then some -- I love the fact that it syncs with my calendar and can show me the temp for that part of the day, according to my plans. Brilliant!!
Its beautiful and very easy to use, showing weather across multiple locations.
I have just one suggestion/request and that is to display the temp in BOTH F & C, rather than one or the other. I haven't seen this on any other weather app yet but it would be greatly useful to me and probably many others used to F and C but not wanting to convert numbers all of the time. Thanks!!!

Best weather app by far

The wonderful, inspired use of graphical depictions of the weather gives one all the hour-by-hour information needed for a week at a quick glance - in fact, this may be the best use of graphics to convey information in any app out there. I really appreciate that FreshAir authors actually thought about the best, simplest ways to convey all the important information on a single screen that one can easily scroll through to see a weeks worth of weather intuitively - kudos for thinking it through rather than just adding graphics as an afterthought!

There's always a room for improvement

FreshAir no doubt is brilliant. Gorgeous UI. Accurate weather updates but there are some bugs that need to be fixed.
1. The time for which the weather shows up is inaccurate for my location. It's like 3:04 right now and it's showing weather update for 2:01. I can surely slide to get the accurate reading but it can be fixed so why not?
2. Make adding locations easier.
3. The temperature reading a switch for changing units. Like hit the temperature and it switches from F to C. Can be done easily.
Other than that. Perfect app. 🤘👌🏻Keep up the good work.

Simplistic and Efficient

Before I write this review, if someone does not stop the dog from barking down the street, I may have to take drastic actions! LOL!.... anyway, the description provided for FreshAir is spot on exact. It does not have all the bells and whistles of some other weather apps, so if you are really into meteorology, this may be too simplified for your taste. As I said, this application delivers exactly what it promises with a clean, crisp, and refreshingly simple plastic motif. There are also a couple of Easter eggs that I was surprised to find by tapping on some of the buttons with in this application. It definitely deserves five stars.

Great but unmaintained...

I have used FreshAir for 3-4 years and have loved it for it's ability to view temperature and percent precipitation by minute of the day. There have been no updates in 3 years though so it still looks like it's for an iPhone 5. The bigger issue now though is that something caused the time of day function to stick to the left side permanently so it no longer moves with you as you scroll left to right/right to left. Now, you can only view exact weather for 6 hours ahead before you scroll too far to the right and can't see the time of day any longer. Sadly, FreshAir is pretty useless now. Seems like it would be an easy fix if the team was around.
