Still haven't spent a penny but the good will is gone

***Update: well I WON the game, and happy to report I didn't spend a penny on it. Too bad, I probably would have paid $20 to buy the whole game because I love the actual game play so much, but because EA was so greedy, they got nothing from me. I made a point of doing so. *** I refuse to give a dime of my money to a company who has stooped so low as EA has to CRIPPLE the game play of one the best games in PeggleBlast Store, so I am slowly but surely advancing through the levels and stages. Offer a one-time purchase and I would be happy to pay it, but I will not be contributing to the mindset that the freemium extortion model is acceptable. To the 5 star reviewers claiming those of us who have nasty reviews are just whining because we aren't good enough, nope. Even when you win, as I have, the game will then ask you to wait 5 hours to play the next unlocked level...or of course you can ask your friends or pay $$$... no thanks. People caving in and paying or posting this crap all over social media in order to play are contributing to this problem, because it sends a message to companies that this method works. Apparently there are enough people willing to hand over their hard-earned cash for the hopes of advancing faster, and EA is raking it in as a result. It's a brilliant move for EA, whose bottom line is dollars and not good will. Greedy as ever, that is for sure. Not impressed.

Yet another good game tarnished by greed

The game itself is quite fun and feels like a proper Peggle game. However, it is very clearly designed to rope you in and then squeeze money out of you. In the beginning, the only real issue is that you only have 5 lives which regenerate after a certain time period. For the most part this is fine, although it can be a little aggravating when it comes to levels that involve a lot of luck and/or random elements. Other than that, the microtransactions don’t feel too forced and you only have to watch ads if you want to earn extra power ups or lives. However, at around level 45, this suddenly changes. I sincerely hope this is a bug, but after *every single level*, you have to watch an ad. If you fail, you still have to watch an ad. Sometimes if you cancel instead of retrying, you get another ad. And in further levels, you sometimes get ads when *starting* levels. It’s ridiculous. And they don’t even offer a one-time payment to get rid of the ads?? I would gladly pay $5 to get rid of the ads as it is an otherwise fun game, but I just can’t keep playing at this point because the stereotypical low-effort mobile game ads are way too frequent. I’m so tired of seeing good games be ruined by corporate greed, so please do not spend a single cent on this game.

THIS is why you’re so HATED, EA.

And EA strikes again with this soul-crushing load of filth. Oooh boy, where to begin.. First of all, the original PopCap’s Peggle was LIGHT YEARS better than this one. Why? Oh, I’ll tell ya. Because, like I said, it was made by POPCAP and NOT YOU. I loved the original.. I played it all the time on my grandma’s computer when I was little. But where is it now? GONE. KAPUT. EVISCERATED. And I know why; You KILLED IT just so that people would have to resort to THIS… THIS SHAMELESS, UNINSPIRED, FRUSTRATING CASHGRAB. This is a SCAM, that’s what it is. Most of the later levels are made to be straight-up IMPOSSIBLE so that people will have to spend their hard-earned cash on extra balls. And DEAR GOD, THE ADS. There’s an ad placed at every possible opportunity. All your company does, EA, is take an actually enjoyable game and toss it in a dumpster, light said dumpster on fire, and tape a money vacuum to it. People should see the name Electronic Arts and KNOW not to download this. Your company name is a title of shame and you wear it like a BADGE like you don’t even KNOW what you’re doing wrong, which shouldn’t even be possible, considering it’s OBVIOUS. EVERYONE HATES YOU, EA, AND YOU CAN JUST LOOK AT EVERYTHING YOU’VE DONE AND KNOW WHY. I HATE YOU, EA, AND I’M PRETTY SURE THAT ANY REASONABLE PERSON WOULD HATE YOU. Please, for the sake of everyone’s bank accounts.. GO. OUT. OF. BUSINESS. That way you’ll actually be doing what’s right for once.

I will forever despise EA for ruining a classic

PopCap hit an absolute grand slam with the original Peggle. It’s one of my favorite games of al time, and it only cost me a dollar! As a highly replayable and mechanically sharp game, it easily kept me entertained for 50+ hours while giving me HUGE bang for my (literal) buck. I would have gladly paid $5 or more for it— unfortunately now I can’t play it at all. It’s been removed from PeggleBlast Store to make way for the soulless, greedy cash cow that is Peggle Blast.

This game embodies everything that I hate about the mobile games industry. The design is absolutely insidious, with cutesy graphics, a fun introduction, addicting and fair challenges— then suddenly they start systematically robbing you of hard-earned and well-deserved victories. The frustration comes from a series of increasingly infuriating cheap shots, like bombs that literally blow up your whole carefully laid plan out of nowhere. Peggle has always had an element of luck to it, and that was part of the fun. Now the cards are stacked against you, designed to milk a few more bucks out of the struggling masses for a temporary power up or a few extra attempts at clearing the board. Don’t give in, and if you are susceptible to impulsive decisions then don’t download Peggle blast. Vote with your wallet by keeping EA out of it— and believe me they are constantly grabbing for it in this depressing shadow of a once great game.

Level 81 is too hard and shuffle gives me migraines

I deleted PeggleBlast over level 81. I’ve genuinely never been more infuriated with any level of a game before in my life; I kept losing the level on the first turn because it’s nearly impossible to complete the level without dropping one of the eggs and losing the entire level because of it. The only way to complete the level is by getting astronomically lucky and having any eggs that do fall land in the bucket, which is nearly impossible to time properly and thus can only be based in luck rather than skill.

This level was kind of the last straw, though, since I had also had issues with the rapidly-shaking shuffle effect on some levels giving me headaches, eye strain, and motion sickness. I could generally get around this by closing my eyes but sometimes I would forget to do that and end up feeling sick because of it. There’s absolutely no option to minimize motion and this is, I think, a major accessibility issue in PeggleBlast .

The only reason I’m not giving PeggleBlast one star is because I did honestly have fun playing it, for the most part; I just wish the level design for 81 wasn’t so terrible and there was a motion reduction option in-game.

Great game! Until...

I first started playing Peggle a few months ago and was immediately addicted. I would play this game for hours on end, staying up at night, neglecting all the other apps on my phone. I had gotten so far and was more than halfway through the entire game. (A huge feat since some of the levels are near impossible to win) At this point I was sure I had spent 30+ hours playing this game. But recently, I had opened PeggleBlast to play the game and it had taken me to the first level. I was confused, closed PeggleBlast , opened it again, and was still at level one. I left the level to look at the map and all of my past levels that I had worked so hard on said that I had never even played them, let alone won them. I then repeated the process of closing the game with no luck, so I restarted my phone and still nothing. It’s been a while since that happened and I have still been continuously opening PeggleBlast in hopes that my data would be restored, but I am met with the same sad result every time: level one. I know I sound dramatic, but I am devastated considering the amount of time and effort I have put into this game. I am so disappointed and hope that this fate never occurs to anyone else who plays this once magnificent game.

Conflicted opinions

I love Peggle. I remember playing it as a kid. I decided to download it to refresh some good childhood memories. Instead I’m stuck on a level I can’t get past. I think this game is incredibly challenging and becomes too difficult very quickly. I thought this game was made for a younger audience, for example in the beginning levels fnord is constantly referred to as silly and it’s just overall made for a younger audience. I’m not sure if the age you are required to type in adjusts the difficulty of this game.

I’m disappointed in how difficult it is to play this game. I’m also disappointed how I can’t earn any of the Peggle coins or whatever they’re called unless I purchase them. I will not spend money on this game. Another few things that really irritate me about this game is I cannot adjust anything in settings or do anything after connecting Facebook. I can never finish the daily activities to spin the wheel because of the issues within PeggleBlast . PeggleBlast is almost broken to the point you can’t play. They need to make some major adjustments to the game for it to be functional and fun. Overall super disappointed in where Peggle has gone since when I played it as a kid/teenager.

It’s so annoying

Listen so I used to play peggle classic years ago on my iPad. Then once he got taken off PeggleBlast Store which I was super sad about because it was literally my favorite game I decided to download Peggle Blast because why not you know. The second I started playing the game I was super disappointed. I know that the original Peggle is super old but this game had extremely bright colors and flashy stuff all over the place I already knew it wasn’t going to be that good. The fact that you literally need to pay for everything is super sad. In Peggle the only thing you could pay for was Peggle nights and that was totally worth it. The fact that EA is so greedy to the point where they destroy what are used to be a good game is disappointing. About two years ago I started to play peggle classic on my Xbox. Which is still a lot of fun don’t get me wrong but it was something about playing on my iPad that was so much fun and nostalgic for me. I think that it would be awesome if peggle classic would come back and maybe they added a cool login with Microsoft feature or something like that so that you could have your save progress. Overall I’m very disappointed in EA and I wish the game would go back to how it was.

Ugh

Really enjoyed this game at first, but now I can't stand it. I've probably played give or take 100 hours of classic Peggle, and this game is an INSULT. It looks good, plays smooth, and controls are beautiful, but the meat of the game is corrupted with greed. It's been specially designed by evil, greedy people to make you spend money. I have been stuck on level 51 for 4 days now. Every time I lose, there is always ONE PEG LEFT. It's DESIGNED so that you wouldn't have enough plays, unless you are bestowed a miracle and have something really lucky happen. And then they insult you further by making the IAPs have zero value. Fail a mission? You have to spend $2 on three balls that only get used in that level and session. Power ups that can be used in any level are incredibly pricey and one-time use. There are only five lives, and when they're gone, you get to sit there and wait hours until you get five more, unless you spend money. I just finished losing to one single peg on my last life, and it was hard to resist the urge to spend $2 to get the level over with. Then I realized, it's designed to be pay to win, and takes advantage of people who are desperate to play more of the game. Well you know what? No. I'm deleting this. I won't succumb to your greed.

By

The game is literally RIGED

Now that these people mention it, this game really is evil I am deleting it. ALSO it is way to hard and this whole game was designed just to make you pay the creators I am stuck on level 75 and every time I start it says BUY THE FIRE RING and I have not spent ENYTHING on this game. The worst part is I think the glitches in this game are actually placed there to make you buy stuff because once I beat a level that was really hard and the music played and everything then it said I failed. Later in the game it happened a bunch more! IMPORTANT NOTE: Most people who submitted 5 star rating were actually PAYED to do so. So don't get this game all it does is generate impossible levels so you spend too much money on a simple game. I used to think this game was cool but thanks to these truthful reviews I now see this game is a SCAM! PLEASE DONT BUY IT IT IS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD! Get the original
edition instead because it is actually good. And one more thing, people who are making fun of those of us that rate one star is NOT COOL because if you look at the game whether you admit it or not, most things require to to BUY them which is NOT COOL. I am a nice person but I had to comment about the truth of this. (P.S. I am going to convince my cousin to uninstall in too!) Ok bye! 🙂

It's not worth the anger

They make this certain level so hard and impossible that it's not worth to play. They think it's "fun" to play a game that you have to beat three levels that every ball counts and if the game throws the ball wrong you start form scratch but not only one but three levels. So does it sound like you want to play this or just move onto angry bird cause at least you accomplish something. Same level for months and I'm ready to delete PeggleBlast again cause these Moran gamers can't put a challenge out there, they have to make it impossible thinking they made an awesome game. This game is nothing like the other peggle and just steals the stupid bomb and you can't play but wait for worthless life's from candy crush. Don't waste your time and peggle hire the gamers that made original peggle cause it's a shame I can't play peggle without wanting to break my phone. Are people seriously saying you aren't good enough if you are complaining wow must have a lot of time to sit around wasting time on this game. Than to insult others cause they want to play a relaxed game like peggle was meant to be! Shows who you are. Play original peggle, whatever this game is should be called something else. Like waste of time

Disappointingly infuriating

As a person with no opinion whatsoever on the EA aspect of this game, as I see is taking up huge retail in the ratings here, and also as someone who has actually zero problems with the amount of ads during gameplay (I’ve only been offered the opportunity to watch in exchange for some sort of carrot) I would like to offer maybe a different perspective on the game…. And say that I still concur with the general idea of everything else I’ve read.
I can get past the hugely, overwhelmingly annoying cutesy graphics and, what, is that.. banter?? Yikes. And I could, though it stings a little, say it’s just at some points too hard for me. But then I realized- no- it’s too hard for EVERYONE. The only way to beat this and keep your sanity (pride and dignity) is with some cold hard dineros.
Sorry, old chum. Not today, Fnord, not today.

This Game Is Rad

I absolutely love this game. It’s a challenge, it’s fun, it’s gorgeous, and addictive. So many games are either stupidly designed or stupidly easy, and this game is neither. People are mad that when you defeat a world it makes you wait five hours, which I don’t think is too ridiculous, but mine glitched somehow and let me move on without waiting. Others are saying that they can’t get past a level without paying, which is flat out false. I’m on level 195, and I’ve never had to pay for a powerful to help me move. Maybe try a new strategy? People are never happy, it’s either too easy or too hard, but I find the challenging aspect of this game is what keeps me playing. I love this game, and people who are saying it’s a cash grab probably just aren’t good. If you’re unimpressed with most games on PeggleBlast Store, I think you’ll really like this game. And I saw someone saying all these 5 star reviews are paid, but sadly, I am not.

Fun but rigged to take money

So I got thru all 199 levels in a few days without spending a dime. How? Easy trick for unlimited lives. But in doing so I Could see what a rip off this game truly is. Physics and trajectories change according to what’s gonna be least beneficial to u. For example the pegs with oil don’t slide if there is like a sun nearby that will kill ur ball. Bucket slows and speeds up. So does the ball. The rate at which the hit pegs disappear changes. They will stay longer if u might get a bucket drop or disappear faster if it will dead the ball. Long shot challenges and what not. Well some shots that should be long don’t register. If ur about to make a good shot and tap the screen it’ll just do nothing. All types of madness. Well screw u EA y’all ain’t get a dime for me and if anybody wants the free lives trick well I got ya.

For real I wish u could sue ppl for rigging stuff like this. It’s bad. Takes the fun away.

Oh and the last level. Last battle. Good luck. You’ll never win the coin toss and Bjorn has the shot set up every time that clears everything so u lose. Of course my unlimited lives trick also allows me to not have to start those battles over if I fail

Fun, addicting, challenging

Some of these reviews make me laugh. I can't believe some people give this game one star simply because they aren't skilled enough to figure it out. This is a fun game that definitely has some challenging levels. I never had to spend money on this game, it simply requires patience. I have beat the game with three stars on every level and sometimes you have gather more advanced characters before you can go back and three star some earlier levels. The key is understanding the powers each character had and using them to your advantage based off of each layout you may be stuck on. You have to reach a certain point in the game before you can choose the character you want to play as. I'll admit there are some levels that are frustrating and required me to put my phone down for a while. I only wish they would update this game with new levels, I miss playing it!

Copies from clipboard without authorization

I've noticed that PeggleBlast will paste from the clipboard on launch and without authorization. You'll get the iOS notification saying Peggle pasted from (whatever app you last copied from). I don't know why this is but given PeggleBlast 's other money-grabs I can't imagine it's an honest mistake.

I uninstalled this game for that reason, and you should too. I hope Apple notices this issue and removes PeggleBlast from the store until the issue is fixed as well.

This is a great game ruined by the microtransactions shoehorned in to the game. They're absolutely a huge issue that destroys an otherwise fun game, especially when you add in the ads that take over after you fail a level (and the ads always seem to be those balding guy ads that were banned for being misleading). Doubly so when considering that there's no option to just pay once to remove all the ads and life limits and such. It's a fantastic game that you can play in those spare few minutes, but is ruined by MTX.

By

The negative reviewers just can't play well

I love this game because it's the only "free" game that requires skill. Yes, you can pay to unlock certain features to help you advance but I've made it a point to never do that with any free game and just keep playing using skill until I'm bored of a game or it's impossible to not pay so I delete it. I'm currently on level 175 without ever having to spend a dime. Yes it gets challenging but if you use logic and don't just mindlessly aim and shoot you will realize there is skill involved once you get past the easy rounds. I love you don't need an Internet connection to play. Graphics are great and characters are really cute. I suggest doing all the daily challenges in order to spin the prize wheel and get boosters that get help during hard challenges and especially during boss battles. Overall this is a great and awesome game that keeps you coming back!

EA, WE NEED TO TALK. (1/3)

Peggle Blast. A colorful, seemingly addictive version of Peggle 1. Corny jokes and impressive physics. Graphics and music are done professionally, which is a good thing. You actually have to think about your next move, as this game is actually difficult. If Electronic Arts would have left EVERYTHING ELSE out of what they actually put in, this review would be 5 stars. But it's EA. They can't help themselves. They have to rig the game with IAPs that are next to worthless and sometimes don't even help you. The first 45 or so levels can be beaten in one go. After that, it's exponential. Oh, did I mention that they had the BALLS to put a LIFE SYSTEM in this game? You lose a life whenever you fail to meet the goals of that level, regardless if you get 25 orange pegs. Some of these goals are ridiculous. For example: Level 101: Get 5 Bucket Drops with a random Master. And don't even get me started on those gay egg levels. If an egg falls off, you fail. This has been my DOWNFALL for A F****** YEAR! There's a character limit on these reviews, so I have to cut this review up into parts. That's how bad this game is.

Way too hard and designed to make you spend money

This game will make you angry. The original Peggle games are just challenging enough that it’s still fun, especially because you’re able to try as much as you need. The levels in PeggleBlast can be fun, don’t get me wrong. But as the game progresses it gets ridiculously hard. Like several bombs that you have to destroy within 5 tries, eggs that can’t fall or you lose, freaking gnomes 🙄 there’s so many levels that can only be won with pure luck imo. I’ve tried some levels countless times and have to wait because I’ll run out of lives and have to wait for more. They want you to buy the power ups and more balls so you can get past the really hard levels. I think it’s pretty ridiculous, they should just make the game cost a little bit from the get go if that’s how it’s gonna be. Anyway, download at your own risk because this game is frustrating and will make you angry. I’m only on level 64 and am considering deleting. Replaying a level 10+ times really gets old.

Peggle blast

In the past 60 days i have completed the game twice. Honest opinion i love the game its very fun and addictive. But there are some things to be mentioned. 1st off the peggs do not always melt/disappear at the same time ,sometimes it takes 2 secs or sometimes 5 and that could lead you to believe the game is more about chance than skill sometimes. 2nd and most annoying, during the boss battle aka fnord I could be wrong but i feel it’s completely uncalled for to have 25% of your score taken. Perfect example i have 100k points boss/fnord had 76k …clearly one sided.
I miss the last red pegg and just like that was dropped down to 75k therefore i lose and must play all 3 boss battles all over again. But other than that its a great game and id definitely recommend it. I might even play it a 3rd time in the future . Solid 4 stars.

Stop Whining It’s Great

Awesome game. Fun. Lots of enjoyment. Reasons below, as well as addressing some of the negative reviews left by other people.
1. It’s a great game that I enjoy, and my 5 year old can enjoy as well. (On the lower easier levels of course) Fun, and gets challenging so it really makes you think. Yes, you have to get lucky sometimes, but that’s part of any game.
2. App developers need to make money. Of course they’re going to put in ways for you to spend money. That being said I just finished getting 3 stars on every level and haven’t spent a dime. I’ll probably buy something now just to support them for making a great game I’ve spent hours playing… they deserve some of my money.
3. I don’t know how much they’ve changed it over the years, but when you beat the game you unlock unlimited lives and don’t need character credits anymore. You can play any character on any level. Also, it was quite obvious that some people who left reviews don’t understand what beating a game is… if you beat the game… there shouldn’t be any more levels past that…

Temporary fix for the level 8 glitch… which proves this game’s biggest flaw

To everyone struggling with the game breaking bug on level 8, do not attempt to extreme slide with your first ball. You have to throw away your first shot, after which it should work properly (and you can still get three stars).

Despite the fact that a solution like this exists if you think outside the box, the fact that EA refuses to just fix the level is just further proof that they deserve their fall from grace. I get that Peggle Blast is a smaller game, but there is still a dedicated community of players, and them not even addressing the issue just proves that from the start, they really haven’t shown that they care about their players. I would still play the game despite this, since I’ve had major fun with the levels, but if you’re still reading at this point l encourage you to go full F2P (free to play) despite the challenges and refuse to give any cash to EA.

One Thing That Holds This Game Back

See games a lot of times now take either two roads to funding a free app. Advertisements for simply pressing start or restricting content behind a paywall. This game takes a unique approach that holds it back. You have so many lives and if you run out of lives it takes 25 minuets for each life to refill. This means they are putting hour restrictions on when I can play again, when honestly I’d probably do absolutely nothing but play this game all day until I got home to play it on my Xbox. If the developers or bored members are reading this review I would strongly suggest trying some other revenue model for a brief time that allows players to play unrestricted (even if that means only paying players) because they put their customers behind a time wall of how much time they can spend on their product and it forces me to play competing apps.

GLITCHES MAKE IT UNPLAYABLE

Look, I love Peggle. I played the PC version growing up, and I was so hyped to have it on mobile, too. Yeah, it’s not the same as the PC version, but it’s still fun…until you get the glitches. I’ve played this game in full on mobile before and had no issues, but I just redownloaded PeggleBlast and started completely fresh. Was doing great, having fun, but there were two levels right at the very beginning that wouldn’t count all the orange pegs I hit. One was an arbitrary level where you start by using your first level help with extra green pegs, which was easy enough to get past if I just ignored the urge to get as many orange pegs in one shot. It said to hit 25 orange pegs, and I had several retries where I cleared the entire board but it wouldn’t let me move on because it refused to count all 25 orange pegs that I hit. Again, I got past it by going slower and hitting fewer in one move. Unfortunately, the level where you’re encouraged to do a slide move (the spiral formation) gave me the same issue. No matter how many times I restarted the level and tried to fire to get no slide or as few orange pegs in one move, it would not count all 25 orange pegs I hit. Again, I cleared the board several times, and nothing worked. This ultimately made me delete PeggleBlast entirely. I couldn’t care less about in-game purchases or whatever else, but good GOD this game is literally unplayable with the glitches. Hopefully they fix this crap.

Updated: crashes, pay-to-win, constant ads

Another update: still awful, time bombs and challenge levels should be removed, devs should be ashamed.

I finally beat complete garbage level 56 only to have it lock up while counting the end-of-level bonus. When restarted I had to do the level again, and 25 tries later, still stuck. There are more levels in this game than all other Peggle games combined, but will I get to play them? I think not. I've been a big Peggle fan and looked forward to the latest version. Instead of buying a game and working through it when I felt like I'm stuck with poorly designed levels that trial-and-error all your "lives" leaving you to wait real time (or pay) to get more lives. But the big issue is the level design. Too many rely on luck of random power-up placement. At the moment I'm stuck at a "challenge" level requiring "long shot"s rather than points/dropping objects and I'm essentially quitting at this point. EA's "modern" microtransaction design on mobile is loathsome. This is the first Peggle game I've neither liked nor finished.
