Why do I have to scroll to my weight? Let me type it in.
by Zoe364
I really wanted this to be a slight more structured as far as calling it a “food journal”. At least add a + sign for notes, food, beverage, & weight. That way I’d be more inclined to log my food and drink. Especially if it remembered “regulars”. And how awesome if you could snap a pic and post it as your entry!
A couple of technical aspects I find frustrating is, 1) I import my weight from apple health. So I have to scroll to the bottom, (please move to top), and select import…, then I get a list of items I can import, a button to select all, or in my case, scroll to the bottom, (can you please give options for most recent to latest as a filter)?, to find my latest weigh in. And you have to be careful, because if you have other apps “writing” to apple health your weight, the entry will show up twice.
So then you select your entry and then scroll up, to select “import”. Then you can choose an option from the bottom of the app - I go to the journal section, I still am baffled about half the options in this app and what exactly they do.
But at this point I find I generally log my reaction and feelings about my weight and maybe a quick rundown on what I’ve eaten.
I weigh myself daily, been researching this and apparently this helps you to lose more weight and keep it off because you’re more aware. However, you do have to get over the initial shock of seeing your number go up and down, and eventually down. Hence seeing the trend is nice.
The other technical part is I wish this app would work with Garmin connect, or even some of the new scales that send your weight directly to their app. It’s so much more efficient.
I do like this app the best regarding food and weight because you’re not lost in all the nutrition talk. You are just recording, which is what I want and need. Plus I am not great at eating at regular meal times, (yet), so I like that there’s no classification for BLD and snacks. (But I would like to separate food from beverage and notes). So at every entry you have the option of logging food, beverage, notes, or weight.
And I do like that it shows your BMI, and if I had a different scale I’d be able to log my fat %. Which I will do as soon as I determine the scale that meshes the best with my Garmin watch, iPhone and apple health, and Garmin connect, lol! (Not to mention my insurance has a health app “Virgin Plus”, and I’m doing the OMADA program. (It’s their scale that sends my weight directly to their app, and is connected to virgin plus and apple health.)
I hope I wasn’t too convoluted.
Thank you for your app. I hope to see some of these changes!
