FanFictionAO3unofficial has a lot of great features. The vast majority being hidden behind a paywall. Understandable, everyone needs to earn their keep. However it does feel super smarmy to put the disable censor filter behind a pay wall as well. FanFictionAO3unofficial is already rated 17+ So users have to pay $33 a year to read the stories as the author intended.

TTS doesn’t work, can see it enter mode but no sound. Reporting bugs required you to make an account to do so. Nice features would be to save favorite fandoms or tags because otherwise you start from scratch every time you open FanFictionAO3unofficial . So not worth paying for something you get for free online and can have read using Accessibility features on your phone.

I keep getting “This is taking longer than expected” or whatever whenever im trying to searcg something. I JUST WANNA READ MY FAVORITE FICS CMON!!!

FanFictionAO3unofficial works really well- with a couple small complaints. The pros are that the interface is nice, tagging system is translated over, and it feels good. Cons though- 1. I paid for the upgrade (which is an ongoing payment, not a one-and-done) and yet though it mentions offline mode, I don’t see any way to turn it on for individual fics or the entire ‘library.’ If it’s there, it isn’t intuitive, because I did a fair bit of digging. 2. The search function could GREATLY benefit from the use of filters. This is a little weird because if you open an author profile, then you’re able to filter by fandom, relationship, etc. when you search a title or author name initially, however, the filter button doesn’t appear. Subsequently, you really have to dig to find titles that might have common names with an author with a common name as well. (Ex- if your author’s name is ‘Evidence,’ that search term will obviously bring up more than just their fics.) 3. The censoring of swear words is exhausting. And again, even though I turned that off, it’s still around. Maybe it’s a bug, but it’s annoying and definitely has me looking at alternative reading platforms.

Honestly, the only thing I don't like about FanFictionAO3unofficial, is that it eats my battery. FanFictionAO3unofficial eats my battery more than any 2 games on my phone.
Other than that, FanFictionAO3unofficial is amazing. Great search feature, the ability to create a reading list... it's almost ideal.

It maintains a library, lets you browse and search, comes with good flexibility of themes and has text to speech in any language you care to listen in. The one “feature” that detracts from it is a coarse language filter that doesn’t seem to have any means of being turned off in settings. I’m sitting in the privacy of my own home listening to a fic as an “audiobook” and instead of just saying what’s on the page it awkwardly spells part of the word around the asterisks it inserted into it. Wish there was some way to opt out of that, we’re grown-ups here.

While you can change you reading screen to white with black text, it seems that the bronzing screen can’t be changed from black with white text. Also, the chapters are going out very randomly. I can see reviews that reference chapter 8, but I can only access up to chapter 5.

I love FanFictionAO3unofficial so far. It’s turning out to be my favorite, but I only have one issue. When you search for a good story and you find one. After you tap on it to add it to your library, when you return to look for more stories to add, it makes you start at the top of the list rather than allowing you to return to where you left off, while scrolling down through the different story titles and descriptions. I could make it really far and then it would start me back at the top of the list again and I’d have to scroll all the way back down to where I left off. It’s kinda frustrating, but I do love FanFictionAO3unofficial.

A little bit hard to find(navigate) exactly what I stories wanted but usually what I would find was a story better than what I originally had in mind anyways. Overall this is a great app for people who like detailed FanFiction that mostly stays to the origins well.

My comic section is glitching out so it only shows me the one from the first fic I read.

App is amazing, an amazing alternative to the Lore.fm app. I just wish the TTS wasn’t so robotic sounding.

I love it, it has some of the best story’s out there but I hate how it’s constantly down😓 it is currently down and it was down not even two days ago too. BUT I ABSOLUTELY LOVE ITT
