I was hoping this would allow me to scan my coins and get a somewhat accurate estimate of the coin’s condition and value.
CoinIdentifier just identifies what your coin is and gives a broad range of values, seemingly regardless of the scanned coin’s condition.
For instance, I scanned about a dozen Morgan Silver Dollars, varying greatly in condition, and CoinIdentifier gave me the exact same “Range” of 100-200. 100-200 what exactly, it doesn’t say. I’d assume dollars, but since the average Morgan Dollar of that time that these coins are sell for anywhere from 25-50 dollars, 100-200 ends up meaning nothing.
There’s also no database being built of your collection, where you can track data and keep up with your collection. You can only do two things, take a picture of a coin, or load an image of your coin. Then you get that general info on the coin, and that’s it. Your entering of that coin is not saved anywhere. You just hit the back arrow from the information screen and are then back to the take or load a photo main page.
I could see CoinIdentifier being useful the people who don’t know what US coins look like and might need help differentiating a penny from a dime or quarter, but that’s it.
I definitely won’t be continuing my premium account. Thankfully, I got that one month for free. If I had paid for this I’d be extremely upset. As is, I just want to make sure to warn others away from spending money on CoinIdentifier thinking it will be useful to them.
Thank you and have a great day.
