Won’t Even Connect to the Servers

I downloaded CoinIdentifier a couple of days ago thinking it could be fun and useful. It has been nothing but a disappointment as I cannot even get it to work.
CoinIdentifier loads and I can either take a photo of a coin or upload one from my camera roll.
As it tries to identify the coin, I get an error stating, “ we are experiencing high demand on our servers at the moment. please try again in a few minutes. Thank you for your patience.”
I have tried dozens of times and this is all I get.
The program is worthless to me so far.

Sadly no

Got this yesterday and immediately tried it out on a non coin. Surprisingly, it identified it correctly.
Tried it out today on a nickel. First kept getting error messages. Tried back later and it identified it as a quarter. Tried again it identified it as a dollar.
Sadly, it’s a no. One star.

Wrong info

Just to try it out, I had it to analyze a Kennedy Half Dollar coin. I tried 3 times. It always identified it as an Eisenhower Dollar coin. Just doesn’t seem to function well. I will try a few other coins to see if it does any better.

Doesn’t work - Servers always busy error

Glad I didn’t pay for CoinIdentifier. It doesn’t work. I always get a servers are busy error - try again later. I’ve already deleted CoinIdentifier since it doesn’t work.

This app doesn’t work

I have tried numerous times on different days and at different times of day to have CoinIdentifier identify a coin. Every single time it says that. There is an error and that the servers are busy.

Bad start

I haven’t been able to use CoinIdentifier because every time I have tried it keeps giving me this message: Error
We are experiencing high demand on our servers at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes. Thank you for your patience.
Try Again

It is obvious that either your servers lack the capacity or CoinIdentifier doesn’t work.

I have high expectations for CoinIdentifier, but so far, not impressed at all.

Too many bugs

Takes a long time to connect to the servers. Misidentifies coins on a regular basis. Out of the first 7 coins I tried, 6 were misidentified by year and/or denominations.

Not worth it

Continuously saying Error due to high demand. Every day, every time. Try another app

Does not identify correctly

I tried to identify a coin I knew was 20 cents from Mexico. It identified it as a 1 cent coin from El Salvador. App not working. Junk.

Scam/Worst coin app in the store

This is THE worst coin app in the store, and with so much garbage in CoinIdentifier Store already, that’s not an achievement you want. It has never worked…the “update” just now also didn’t make it work. It only ever says it is “trying” to connect to servers, which I assume since it serves no actual purpose, is code for “steal your personal data”. As an FYI I do not grant permission for even one little bit of my personal data to be captured, retained, shared or sold. You should be ashamed of CoinIdentifier. Please delete any data associated with my downloading CoinIdentifier, please and thank you. Apple, you should be ashamed too. AWFUL app.

Not Very Useful

I was hoping this would allow me to scan my coins and get a somewhat accurate estimate of the coin’s condition and value.
CoinIdentifier just identifies what your coin is and gives a broad range of values, seemingly regardless of the scanned coin’s condition.
For instance, I scanned about a dozen Morgan Silver Dollars, varying greatly in condition, and CoinIdentifier gave me the exact same “Range” of 100-200. 100-200 what exactly, it doesn’t say. I’d assume dollars, but since the average Morgan Dollar of that time that these coins are sell for anywhere from 25-50 dollars, 100-200 ends up meaning nothing.
There’s also no database being built of your collection, where you can track data and keep up with your collection. You can only do two things, take a picture of a coin, or load an image of your coin. Then you get that general info on the coin, and that’s it. Your entering of that coin is not saved anywhere. You just hit the back arrow from the information screen and are then back to the take or load a photo main page.
I could see CoinIdentifier being useful the people who don’t know what US coins look like and might need help differentiating a penny from a dime or quarter, but that’s it.
I definitely won’t be continuing my premium account. Thankfully, I got that one month for free. If I had paid for this I’d be extremely upset. As is, I just want to make sure to warn others away from spending money on CoinIdentifier thinking it will be useful to them.
Thank you and have a great day.

It never scans

I downloaded CoinIdentifier so I could sell my extra coins but when I used my 3 free shots it kept saying “Photo not Clear”. Also on my third shot I moved my coin to a plain white background with decent lighting it still didn’t seem to scan. (The coin I scanned was a 1960 D Jefferson Nickel with the Monticello building on the back)

Frustrating

Frustrating for a single reason: once you have the coin in your collection, you never get to see the details you receive when you first scan the coin (which works well) Otherwise, it works well.

Constant Server issues

Error
We are experiencing high demand on our servers at the moment. Please try again in a few minutes.
Thank you for your patience.
Try Again

Sounds Good

Plain and simple the server is always too busy. So what is CoinIdentifier doing meanwhile? ☹️👎
