So much improvement needed

I have no idea what the point of most of the updates even are because the game seems to get worse over time. Don’t look at the pictures shown in HappyDinerStory Store because the game has absolutely nothing to do with that. I wish games would get removed due to blatant false advertising. You can cruise along in this game for a little while and then good luck. You have to pay. There are no other options. It’s like the game somehow notices you’re getting better, so each time you play the same level everything gets harder even though it’s supposedly the exact same. It’s a money grab and if you enjoy spending money to help developers make it worse, go for it, but just donate it to a charity instead of a greedy company.

Would be good if

Like the game set up and addicting play. Great graphics. Hate the way you get to a point that there is no winning without paying. Also the game takes away money and gems from your total without you doing it ~ all the while appearing to give you “free” money and gems if you watch a zillion ads. Spent money on the game without much difference in progress in game play. Would be a good game if not so frustrating.

A Critical Flaw in the Daily Reward

The game falls short in maintaining a fair and rewarding experience. Theoretically users can start the game and get free daily rewards by watching a couple of ads. The rewards includes money, diamonds and tools. However, I noticed that the diamonds from the daily rewards just disappear for no reason. No purchase, no upgrade, nothing, and the diamonds just get lost. It happened to me at least 3 times in one week, which is very disappointing and frustrating. Such a bad user experience.

Don’t waste your time

So here’s the thing, you guys need to go back and learn how time management games work. If I have 1:56 to get a certain amount of coins why are the customers not moving from the tables faster? Why the speed walking boost only last a few seconds? Whi does it cost so much diamonds for certain upgrades ? This is pure rubbish and you guys designed this game as an attempt to get people to spend $. There’s no way the levels should be extremely difficult to pass. I’ve played other time management games and it’s not like this. Shame on you for trying to force players to spend $, that takes the fun out the game immediately.

The upgrades

I love the game don’t get me wrong. But the amount of coins given each level is stupid. Yall don’t give enough. But have my chefs that I have to upgrade. One I finish finally maxing them out. Then now the difficulty is raised and I have to upgrade them.
I ain’t gone lie. Yall making money for sure. I’ve spent my far change. But at this point I’m about to stop playing the game. Because after I beat one restaurant and want to do the little 5 stages to get the little reward box. Yall don’t give the same amount of coins I would of gotten when I played the regular levels.
And I was just thinking like ok. I can play the new restaurant and use those full amount of coins per level to upgrade the last restaurant. But I can’t because that’ll just put me behind on the new restaurant. Get it together. I know yall want to make money. And I’m sure yall are. I’ll still spend bread no problem. But all these app updates. And still no update on the coins per level is crazy. Or how quickly the chefs need to be upgraded is crazy.

Don’t waste your time

This game was fun for the fist restaurant. Then it becomes nearly impossible to advance without spending money. You have to play one round (losing repeatedly) to earn enough coins for one upgrade. You may be able to win one level, then you’re back in the same situation. And the blue diamond button right where you would normally tap during the game so you accidentally waste them all. Frustrating game. Definitely not a game for relaxing play.

Need more coins

The game doesn’t play like the first three pictures so it’s misleading. It’s a fun game to play though, the game just needs to give more coins away because it’s really hard to upgrade even if you win 3 keys. The worse part is having to upgrade the servers and their time speed will increase after you upgrade for the time to decrease. Only fun for a short while i see i’ll need to pay to play.

Fun but frustrating

After playing this game for a couple days I can honestly say it’s not worth it. The amount of money you need for upgrades doesn’t not correlate with the amount you earn per level. When you finally earned enough, it’s time to upgrade again. The amount you make per level versus the amount you need to make upgrades doesn’t add up.

After trying to give this game another chance, i can truly say PLEASE DO NOT DOWNLOAD!! Every time you upgrade a server to 4s, it goes right back to 8s and you have to upgrade again. It’s absolutely impossible to win without spending real money. Do yourselves a favor AND DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS GAME. If the creators make drastic changes that actually make sense then i might give it a try again but seriously do not waste your time. This game is frustrating!!!!

Money Pit

This game is fun, it’s a standard mobile kitchen game. However, once you get past the first few levels, it becomes very frustrating to play. The money you earn in each level does not align with the costs of upgrades, and very few levels, the chefs lose speed and need to be upgraded as well. By the time you have earned enough money just to upgrade all the chefs, they lose speed again. On top of that, you earn maybe 1200 a level in the higher levels, but upgrades cost a minimum of 2000, and will quickly jump to 4 or 5 thousand. It’s very clear that the developers want you to spend money, but the amount of coins you get when you do aren’t even enough to fully upgrade one item. Not worth it after a certain point.

PLEASE READ

this game is really fun. it's very challenging and it's super addictive.
HOWEVER: it does not in any shape way or form look anything like what you see in HappyDinerStory store. and the upgrades are so expensive. like in order to have cool features like auto-seat and auto-clean you need a crazy amount of diamonds only achievable by buying with real money. i understand making profit off of a game but there's some things in the game understandable for USD purchase but not simple upgrades like said above.
ALSO: there is a feature in the game where you create a product on a conveyer for cash and you use that cash to upgrade the product, but once the product is fully upgraded that cash becomes useless. so basically you can have 500mil cash but you need coins and diamonds to purchase anything within the game.
i hope that the creators take this all into consideration , thanks again

Cash grab

Game starts pretty fun but it’s uninspired. Seems like a classic cash grab cause you keep having to upgrade but with my chefs even after I upgraded their cooking to 10 secs it went up to have a minute the very next episode. Difficult to go to next levels without spending money and game makes you split money prizes with other players even though it makes it seem like you would win the money. Developers need to rethink the game and stop making things to be greedy. Would NOT RECOMMEND

Wildly Difficult Cash Grab

So disappointed, the game has fun gameplay and a lot of potential, but cannot be recommended in its current state. Upgrades are unreasonably expensive and it’s impossible to keep up with them, even spending quite a bit of real money. The ‘hard’ levels have their difficulty artificially inflated, as instead of actual mechanics coming into play to increase the challenge, every upgrade you’ve purchased for your chefs’ speed permanently goes away and they’re worse than when they started; you then have to purchase their upgrades again (every single hard level this happens) and if you’ve been keeping up with upgrades for the rest of the restaurant at all, you cannot afford them. Special upgrades that you purchase with the harder to get secondary currency (diamonds) are only active in the current restaurant and do not carry over. I normally don’t mind spending a little money on games if they’re fun and rewarding, but this seems almost predatory in its necessity to spend real funds.

Can’t even enjoy this game

I never write reviews, and I’m someone who loves playing games like this, and I am very good at them I’ve been playing diner dash since I was 6. That being said this game isn’t even enjoyable because they make it impossible to play. Any level you try to pass you can’t because you need upgrades but you only make $600 when you win and upgrades are always 2K. On top of that when you truly can’t win a level because of an upgrade it takes forever to beat it and you only get 50 coins. The entire set up made me stop playing it. I get having a challenge but you can’t even enjoy this. Too bad could be good.

two stars

I give HappyDinerStory two stars because a lot about HappyDinerStory is great! I just CANNOT STAND the staff service time restarting… oh my GOD it’s the actual worst… what is the POINT of even spending your money just for everything to restart you spend the whole game worrying about the staff and spending money on them just for them to restart? Taking up to a minute like what even is all of that about? There’s no reason for HappyDinerStory to do that, it makes it impossible to waste money on other things like the devices or revenue. Please please fix this. Not a big fan of the fact that you can’t replay levels but honestly that’s more bearable than the cooks service time restarting every three minutes.

Do not waste your time

This game is a waste of time unless you want to spend your money on upgrades that you can’t keep up with. It’s fun for the few levels you can play. After a while you will have to start spending your own money to upgrade the speed of the chefs and when you do spend your own ,only on those upgrades they don’t even help because you will need another upgrade. This game is the worst I’ve ever played. I DONT mind spending a few cents for coins if the money I spend will help me advance in the game but it doesn’t. If you don’t have the game don’t bother and if you do delete it because there are other games you can play that will allow you to advance in levels. This one is not it!! And the developers don’t care. They will just respond with the same generic response they give to all reviews. All the while they are counting the money you just put in their pockets.

Fun for the first bit

Confused because those first few photos aren’t in the game at all so that’s false advertising—you aren’t chopping anything it’s strictly running the server around like diner dash.
Like all the other reviews, the coins you get versus the cost of upgrades is ridiculous. I’m not spending real money because even still it won’t make a difference with how much it costs to upgrade things. I’ve been losing the same level repeatedly when I have free lives just to rack up a few hundred coins each time, plus watching all the ads for coin multipliers. At this rate, maaaybe next week I’ll have enough to buy some upgrades and beat the level I’m stuck on. But it’s annoying

Kinda fun game but too expensive for ppl w/o stable income

There are many reviews talking about how expensive the game is and i agree. i can’t keep up with all the upgrades as i continue on in the game. i find it pretty stupid that you have a conveyor mini game but the money you make from it doesn’t transfer over so you can buy upgrades. I get that the developers may want to make it challenging but you don’t earn enough from the levels to keep up. not everyone wants to spend money on a game they will delete in the next two weeks. fix it to make it more enjoyable, i got bored after the first 20 levels of the first restaurant.

some games with the same concept of that does not ask for so much irl money. you make yourself seem money hungry and it’s disgusting.

THE RAGE.

This game seemed AMAZING AT FIRST… but then it started becoming INFURIATING to play. It’s impossible to beat levels and honestly it seems like this game is money hungry. I don’t write a lot of reviews but I want to know any other games like this that aren’t so frustrating to play. It constantly wants you to upgrade things to win, but it cost thousands of coins to upgrade which you need to spend gems or your own money on. When playing you can lose the level and still make coins which you can watch an ad to triple which helps to upgrade if you have a good amount of lives. After five lives you have to wait for a refill. You get awards though which lead to 30 mins of infinite lives which helps because it’s so hard to beat a level. This game genuinely makes me so angry because I want to enjoy it and it is addicting. I can’t upgrade anything. There is also restaurant upgrades the “owner” of the restaurant can ad after a certain amount of wins, but I can’t even get to that because I can’t win enough levels. Whoever made this game, listen to the reviews and stop making it so hard to play. You are making yourself look money hungry trying to get people to spend money to actually enjoy the game.

Fun game but has multiple flaws

I love games like this, fun to play but with most typical games like this, the hook and pull eventually comes through. You find yourself spending money for servers, and restaurant upgrades which gets costly. It’s not cost effective for us as players to keep spending real money for servers, it gets frustrating. You can get by a few levels without purchasing upgrades but eventually you end up needing to do so to continue with the game. It would be a nice start if servers didn’t need to be constantly upgraded. Also, offering more coins after level completions and decreasing some prices of the upgrades would be helpful. It’s ridiculous to have to spend real money constantly on a mobile game like this, I rather pay $30 upfront than having to keep with these micro transactions. Therefore, I eventually see myself stopping this game after completing a few restaurants but definitely not a game I’ll be playing long term. To me , it would be a better business motto to keep your customers overtime than to only have them be able to play for a short while. I also would recommend more diverse people of color in the game too.

Very disappointed player

I love this game and play it religiously every day. I am hundreds of levels in. With that being said, I think I am going to stop playing because the updates are ruining it. It was already hard to earn enough coins to properly upgrade and progress through the game, but with the newest update it’s pretty much impossible. It’s costing more coins to upgrade and the staff need upgraded faster and faster. You just can’t keep up. At least I used to be able to buy coins with diamonds, now the amount of diamonds needed to get coins is absurd. I’ll spend every diamond I have (1,000+) and maybe afford 2-3 minor upgrades that won’t get me far.
Severely disappointed because I genuinely like this game but the fun has been sucked out of it with the terrible decisions of developers.

So hard to keep up

I have become obsessed with this game. I got my boyfriend obsessed with this game. But it is impossible to keep up with the revenue needed to upgrade items. Each upgrade is near $2000, and the second I have enough coins to upgrade an item it still isn’t enough of a change for me to be able to pass the level and continue getting coins to upgrade other items. No matter how fast I am, no matter what boosts I use I still end up coins or guests short. I just don’t think it’s fair, and it’s keeping me from wanting to continue on- knowing I don’t have a shot at passing levels unless I spend real money.

fun but it’s pay to play

so this is a fun game. a lil addicting of course but it’s also very frustrating. even when you don’t lose, the amount of money you get for completing levels never amounts to real upgrade of the restaurant. it often takes several upgrades before you’re able to upgrade ONE of the 20 things. and each thing has 3-20 levels to be upgraded. they do this of course to force you to spend money on the game. but even IF you spend money, the amount of coins you get is negligible. spend $10 and get enough coins to upgrade 3 things 🙄 there are no ways to earn coins through videos either. it’s rough. this game could be soooooo fun if they weren’t so focused on making it unplayable without paying real money.

Diamond cost increased

I have been playing game for a couple of weeks and I could say that I really enjoyed playing this game till the most recent update. Since the update they increased the amount of diamonds to cover the difference in cost for each item. Each item is already expensive and each time you upgrade the staff the amount of time it takes to serve the customers increases, making it kinda impossible to upgrade equipment. Also since update, if you want to continue round after time has ended it used to cost 50 diamonds. Now that amount has doubled to 100 diamonds. I will continue to play for now since it is a fun game.

Love this game but…..

I love playing this game but the fact that you have to keep upgrading the servers speed is really unfair. It reverts back to them being slow so you are repeatedly using all your coins to upgrade them again so you can’t use your coins to upgrade other things. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t even play anymore because it’s impossible to win. You really should do what most games do; when you upgrade their speed, let it stay that way. It’s really frustrating because I do really love this game.

Fun and addicting game but

I would love if there was more coins and lives to be earned once you complete each diner. Now that I’m in challenge mode it is hard to play and get enough coins to update the chefs and also everything else. Now with the new update I can’t keep trying the challenge modes to gain coins and now I seem to be always out of lives. I love this game but it needs work with the costs of everything and how many coins can be earned

Fun, but false

Game is fun but NOT as advertised. Basically “diner dash” different name. There is no variety in activites as advertised. You are serving customers that is it!! If tht is all there is to it fine, but don’t make it seem more interesting than it is. Also you will constantly upgrade your staff to the maximum then have to do it again to the same staff a few levels later. As I said “fun” but being honest is better.

Love the game but…

So, I’ve been playing this game for a while now. I was quite excited to see a game with a similar concept to the hospital game. This game is enjoyable to play. However, as much as I love playing it, I don’t recommend it, unless you’re willing to spend money. It becomes very difficult to advance after a while. With each restaurant, the upgrades become VERY expensive and it’s difficult to upgrade because the money you make with each level doesn’t compensate at all. Don’t get me wrong, I love a challenge but the prices for the upgrades are a bit ridiculous. From my personal experience, this is the most expensive game I’ve played. In terms of upgrades and I’ve played a lot of games with this concept. I’m not sure if I’ll keep the game. I’d like to because I enjoy playing. But like some of the reviews here you’re gonna have to spend money eventually in order to move up. Other than that it’s a great game to play. If the company does decide to change some of the prices of the upgrades I’ll definitely keep the game and edit my review.

Great at first, then impossible

This game is typical in the fact that as you progress through the levels it becomes impossible to play unless you spend real money for upgrades of your workers and equipment. It’s a shame because the game is really fun. I’m on restaurant 3 now and the joy I had for the game is becoming increasingly frustrating. By the time you grind the levels out while watching 20 ads to try to get more coins little by little (and I do mean little) you end up right back in the same spot. You finally upgrade all of your workers and you may get one level to play then they all need upgraded again. Never mind the fact that you need to upgrade the equipment regularly, upgrade the prices of your items and make sure your customers are patient throughout the game. I have grown people bills so I can’t blow money on games. I doubt I will play much longer because I won’t be able to. It’s supposed to be relaxing but it isn’t anymore.

Getting frustrated

Loves the game for a few months but now I don’t advance to the next dining room and you have to play the same dining room for 12 more stages. And have yet to see that because you can barely advance after the second try. I’m bored now. Sorry guys good game but you need to loosen up the strings a little and also, stop taking coins and then let game immediately end with a an angry customer. That just pisses me off and gonna move in to another game.

Great potential but a balance flaw

I really like the playing style of this game. The levels are fun and the game is a cool take on the time management concept with nice graphics.

BUT there’s a huge balancing issue. The chefs need to be upgraded and - unlike with most games - there’s no end in sight. As you pass more levels (which you have to do to get coins) then the chefs have to be upgraded more. It never ends. There’s never a time where you are fully upgraded and the math doesn’t work to even keep up with the levels they recommend.

I also can’t see a way to “farm coins” without making the levels harder and harder so that’s frustrating.

Shorter: Great until a point, then literally impossible without spending cash.

Worker upgrades

The game is great besides the fact that every few levels the workers need upgraded. You finally get through upgrading them all so you can move onto other things. And bam again you have to update them. It’s ridiculous and makes the game horrible to play because if you ignore upgrading them and go for other things. They end up incredibly slow and it’s so much harder to win levels.

Going downhill

The game was so fun in the beginnning. It hooks you in but eventually it’s impossible to beat without spending actual money. Customers are too impatient and the things you buy in game, like server speed, resets so you’re constantly spending to upgrade. It’s impossible. I’ve been stuck at level 55 for so long I’m officially giving up and deleting the game. It’s impossible to pass. I’m sad.

GAME PLEASE HELP

I love this game.. but it’s now frozen on a level & I’m so upset I’m gonna have to delete this game.

It’s the Charm of Paris restaurant on level 32. You’re supposed to send the mysterious customer to the reception desk.. but my game won’t work. As many times as I drag the customer to the desk it just won’t work..

If someone can help to fix this bug I’d leave a better review but for now 🥲

Recent Update Brought Disappointing Changes

I really enjoy this style of game and I play HappyDinerStory a lot as my main phone game. I was really disappointed with this new update, bc now if you lose in the challenge modes, it doesn’t slide you back down to the bottom. I really enjoyed that if you lose the challenge mode, you could go back and practice with the earlier challenge mode levels rather than just being stuck at the level you can’t beat. Plus, it’s more of a challenge/success when you do beat it. That feature is what made me change to HappyDinerStory from a similar one. I’m really disappointed that it went away. I hope in the future they go back to how it was, or that it becomes something you can toggle off and on if you’d like the harder challenge. I hope I don’t have to start looking for another version of this game style 😞

Good game but unfair

It is easy to see problems in anything that is generally good. The levels get challenging and more expensive, and the game turns into an unfair challenge. For example, there is a customer you must serve or loose a game. Well, even if you get there on time, but close to time running out, you serve the dish, still loose anyway. Or, charging100 diamonds for only 30 additional seconds is also unfair, too many diamonds for not enough time. Also, the amount of coins you need to upgrade is way too much because of the constant chief upgrades, you are always behind on other upgrades. There are more examples, the game is full of unfair details. All of those things take away from the fun that this game could provide.

Fun but expensive

I’ve been playing this game for a while. I enjoy it a lot. It’s not super challenging, but it’s fun. The graphics are great. Here are my top complaints:
1. I have spent hundreds of dollars, and still cannot keep up with the upgrades. Specifically the chef upgrades. They need to be upgraded basically every 5 levels, but when it’s impossible to have enough coins without spending real money. Same with the revenue for snacks.
2. The self cleaning table is over-priced gem wise. Again, impossible to earn enough gems in 1 section to be able to get self cleaning for the next one.
3. There’s a lack of diversity in the the characters.

Money/ Upgrade Ratio

The game is fun. But wow, the people saying the money you make does not match how fast you need upgrades are right. Either upgrades in the game get cheaper to match the level you are on, or make more money per level. I’m not very far in the game and I’m already struggling

Fun and challenging

Idk why everyone is complaining about levels being too difficult. Obviously the developers make levels challenging to incentivize you to spend real money BUT YOU CAN GET AHEAD WITHOUT SPENDING MONEY. I’ve been playing this game since it was first released and I haven’t spent real money. I do replay levels multiple times before I can pass, but you just need to strategize and try different approaches/combinations and you can pass eventually. It does get annoying sometimes but I appreciate the challenge. If you want something that’s easy and mindless play one of the other 1000+ cooking games out there

Fun game but…

Okay so after playing for a little over 2 weeks I can finally give an honest review . Game is fun , nothing special but I like it. There is one huge problem with the game and that is the unrealistic opportunity to upgrade items. I understand that a game needs to be challenging but I have spent real money for coins and gems and still somehow can’t keep up with upgrades. The revenue to upgrade scale is largely imbalanced. For example, right now on average I make 5 to 6 hundred coins a level. Each upgrade is at least $2,000 and when I finally save enough to purchase that upgrade, guess what ? You guessed it , the chefs then need to be upgraded. Impossible to keep up and kind of ruins the game. Yes, there are extra rewards after some levels but 8/10 chance it’s chump change. My suggestion is if I’m paying more to give the chefs and upgrade, then they need to be paid more per customer for their “ promotion”. Also , there are other ethnicities than Caucasian . Please include some diverse avatars. Sad to have to mention this in 2024.

Highly Addictive Game with Great Graphics

I have played Happy Diner Story for hours. I am loving the updates.
One of my favorite features of the game is the multiple levels. It adds to the complexity of the game without growing stale.

The graphics are A-1 and I look forward to the mini-games when I don’t have the time to sit and complete a full game. One of my favorite games to play for strategy and time management skills.

Why timer

The game is too expensive to get ahead ads now are sooo annoying… y on the levels the timer is faster than my character 8,000 coins for the table by the time u get to another level u have to buy coins just a way to make u spend money. I I’ve spent a couple of dollars on her but the coins go so fast because everything is so expensive. I do love the games as whole but please with the timer and so much for the upgrades in the game at least be reasonable. Overall great game keep it up❤️❤️❤️

Levels

I LOVEEEEEE this game, however they’re way too many levels. You start with 60, then you go to 80, then 100. I haven’t gotten past the last board yet because it’s so many levels. 60 should be the max for any game to move on to the next country.

It is a lot of fun but the levels have to be shortened because I find myself putting the game down a lot because I don’t want to do all of them.

Thanks

So far so good

It’s been pretty decent compared to others I’ve played! Have enjoyed playing

Great time management game!

These types of games are my favorite. They keep my brain active. I particularly like this one because you can get through most levels without spending a lot of money. I have bought a few game packs for fun, but I could probably make it through the levels without the rewards. It's cute and they're constantly updating the game too!
