MangaMax - Top Manga Reader Reviews

MangaMax is great! I’ve been using this to read my manga for a while, it’s full of amazing stories! But when it says 12+ and there is some nudity and sexual harassment it does confuse me. That’s how I ended up giving only 4 stars.

I do thank that it is separated by genres so the more mature mangas are in the “mature” genre. But even still some young kids at like 12 or 13 could see this. It’s not very healthy for their brain development.

But other than that the stories and mangas are great and I downloaded I bit too much manga on MangaMax . There are a bit of things on the adds that are a bit inappropriate but it is a bypass.

That’s it from me! This is a good app to download! Just if your a youngster, ask an adult for help if you download MangaMax or before you download it!

It free need I say more there are adds but they are less then 5secs and they are CLEAN 🧼 and if you really into manga you know how hard it is to find cites that aren’t showing you porny adds and have good manga there are also popular manga but it doesn’t have everything but what does 10/5 🌟 best manga app
The only sad part of MangaMax is the there are not many completed romance so if your ok 👌 with good manga that doesn’t end this is great for you

It would be great if there were an feature to auto-download per issue, which saves time later on than manually downloading them all, considering it is already downloading them, why not make them actually download it for offline for premium users which is fair enough. Would mark it 5 stars if that happens but will see in future.

pros: Fast loading, up to date content, good user interface

Cons: Missing “manga” titles (spy x family, one piece, etc), ads (but that is to be expected and they are not *too* frequent)

Conclusion: If you are really only interested in series that come from Japan, then you may want to skip MangaMax . If you like manhwa and manhua (series from South Korea or China), then MangaMax is for you.

I have been using MangaMax for a couple of days and I really enjoy it so far. But I would them to make a feature where it will save were you left off on a chapter. I find it a really inconvenient to keep scrolling throughout chapter just to find out where I was.

MangaMax is pretty good but I wish there way some way to show that my favorited manga had new chapters uploaded. Notifications aren’t really enough since they disappear; need something on actual app that shows the manga has a new chapter & so it’s easier to keep track.

Huge database. Only downside is that I wish there was an option to download the whole series instead of having to press each chapter individually. My office building doesn’t have great service/wifi so being able to download to read offline is big for me.

This stupid 12 year old app still can’t scroll properly you will be reading something and bam you are half way down the chapter and the big fight or whatever is over and the winner is revealed because EVERY SINGLE CHAPTER YOU READ… ends up skipping around at least 5 times trying to get through it . I thought downloading the chapters would help , like it was a connection problem… but no it’s just that they can’t get simple scrolling to work properly. FIX YOUR APP …..

I love the series on here, but they always leave me on a cliffhanger that is unexpected or the story cuts of abruptly. I wish the series were more completed so I got lore from chapter 1 to the end. Other than that it’s a phenomenal app and I would highly recommend.

Other then that love it I get about 3pages in and it will crash boot me back to my Lock Screen go about 3 to 5 pages each time it will crash again I’m on iPhone 12 newest update of iOS plz fix

I like manga that is free. That also has BL things. As look at this Manga app. I am very surprised every single manga chapter is free. But they are missing an lot of things. Like other manga that I read.

I really love MangaMax by far the most but it has just started getting to the point where it will exit me completely out MangaMax bk to my home screen. I don’t know the problem but fix ASAP! That’s the only reason I won’t pay for the membership.

Loved MangaMax, but Purchased premium and MangaMax stoped displaying comics，have tried deleting and reinstalling, still does not work, but now no option to restore purchase. Booo

I definitely just like the app, the one aspect I did not like turned into it lacks a manual to assist better recognize MangaMax , however it is still a good app.

I like it. But it likes to crash, kick me out of the ap, and send me to my Lock Screen. There are also times where I can’t load the chapter. Tried to delete ap and reinstall ap, and still didn’t solve the issue

It’s actually pretty good, it doesn’t overwhelm you with ads and has almost every title I’ve searched for. 10/10

I’m reading through the episodes and then it just skips to another part and when I go back, it’ll do it again, multiple times. It needs to be fixed. Very frustrating. Downloaded MangaMax then about 20 minutes later just deleted it.

Read Offline? You CAN’T even read it offline. It’s ridiculous. I downloaded some chapters so that I can read them on a roadtrip.

Once entering MangaMax it says “No internet connection” Ok understandable.
I tap on the “Downloads” button. There’s my Manhwa but it’s not displaying the cover, Um ok.

I clicked on a chapter and it said IMAGE UNAVAILABLE. I scrolled all the way down all the boxes said IMAGE UNAVAILABLE.

I don’t understand why you have a “Download” feature if it’s NOT even gonna work offline!!

Good app, easy to use. However, it tends to skip around on chapters and you can lose your place. Also MangaMax crashes every few chapters which is annoying.

It pops up a screen before MangaMax when you download and make you make an account for a website nor related without really putting much in there and they won’t let you cancel and their stealing your banking information

Loved it so much that I bought the premium so that I wouldn’t have ads, but these days it won’t even load the home page.

It’s a very good app but the updates are kinda slow for the chapters. And don’t get me started on the adds. There are adds every 1-2 chapters and it’s sooo annoying!! And like even when you exit a chapter you still get an add. Also, sometimes when I press on a chapter it doesn’t load at all even if I have good wifi. It either takes a long time or won’t load at all.

good overall but randomly deletes my favorites list and i have tons in there so its not fun at all happens every few days and you cant download multiple chaps at once. Those are all my qualms and i do pay for premium if this was fixed it would be 5/5

Opened MangaMax today and found (for the second time) that all of my history and favorited titles had disappeared!!!! Getting really tired of having this happen. I was in the middle of a longer title too….

MangaMax itself is exactly what I was looking for. But, I can’t use the search function properly. It lets me type in names if I use my original manga reader app, to be able to enter the name and find it on manga Max. I however, cannot search for the specific genre I would like to read, it closes MangaMax every time I try. I would like to see this fixed in the future but for now, the fact that I have my old app with the same names as the new app, I am able to find them, but if I don’t use the old app, then I can’t find the genre that I enjoy easily.

I keep losing where I’m at in a series due to it deleting my history

I've been using MangaMax for quite some time now, and I appreciate its convenience, allowing me to read anytime and anywhere. I particularly love the automatic saving feature after finishing a manga; it's incredibly helpful when I want to revisit it later. However, I've noticed that the page loading speed in each chapter is a bit slow compared to reading in Chrome. It would greatly enhance my experience if your team could work on improving this aspect. Additionally, a more modern interface would be a welcomed enhancement. Thank you for considering these suggestions!"

I genuinely enjoy MangaMax ; the stories are truly wonderful and captivating. Reading through them is a delight. However, I'm not a fan of the coupons and points system. Ideally, I'd prefer the freedom to read all episodes without dealing with borrowing, points, or similar restrictions. While I understand the need for authors and translators to be cọmpensated, the points and coupons system doesn't sit well with me. Despite this, I would still recọmmend MangaMax to others based on the overall positive experience with its engaging stories."

I really like MangaMax overall. I just wish it had a way to filter your saved manga based on last update.

Although I feel like the chapters are shorter then other WEBTOON like reading apps it’s very few amount of adds and large quantity of story’s I haven’t found anywhere else yet makes this honestly a good choice especially when you are too broke to buy expensive freaking gems like lower your piece I’m not paying 10$ for only 50 gems yk???? Bc this doesn’t have that and It’s really nice <3

I’m a paid subscriber - It would be nice if I could download every chapter at once instead of individually installing everyone of them at a time please.

There’s a small selection of manhua and manhwa on MangaMax, very few of the major titles. The first 2 days worked just fine, but then it’s starting to reset MangaMax on its own and even lock the phone when it does that. Going to look for a better manga reader now.

MangaMax is very good. And I love how they have so many things on here. But there’s a very annoying bug that deletes all the manga you have read and saved. This has happened to me multiple times. And I have to go back and find all of them again. That’s
the only problem other than that highly recommend.

So, I sometimes look at new apps. A few years ago, I went through 30 apps wondering what to use instead of manga reader (by robin studios - removed off MangaMax Store btw). All of them were miserable experiences filled with ads and poorly set up.

Here I am randomly looking at new apps to see if the situation is different or better.

I say all this to build context that MangaMax is perhaps the best app since the removed manga reader. Thank goodness I haven’t deleted it and I’m still using it just fine. How so? Because if that app is a 5/5 despite not being updated for around 5 whole years -> it is still better than all these apps.
Not to suggest that it isn’t flawed, as some features straight up don’t work anymore, like the in-app-only screen lock (to prevent rotation).

MangaMax, as I said, is perhaps the best app I’ve seen on the iOS apple store in a few years now and comparing over 30 apps - and it still a 2/5.
It’s slow, it has a tiny catalogue with no way to change the source and stuffed with ads. Furthermore, the premium is expensive. To put it into context, the removed manga reader app was a one time payment of $7 or $8 and that was still too expensive for everyone at the time. Ya’ll have conceded too much ground allowing these manga apps to screw you over so badly. On top of that, they charge you how much? And it’s only for a month? They’ll never stop unless they fail, ya know.
