Fun, then bugs and where’s support?

I have enjoyed this game a lot and progressed a decent bit. I had unlocked the snow area and was working on leveling my alien there when the game had an update, said it was big fixes… never had any problems with bugs but after the update I suddenly couldn’t access the snow area anymore, said it would require me to be level 10,000… I originally unlocked it at level 9. There is no new content for people who have mastered the other area so you’re just stuck. And when I went looking to report the bug I can’t find any convenient way to report like some apps have, there is no email listed to contact, no discord community or support like some games have… I sent a report on the one link I could find but it seems extremely detached and i haven’t heard back. This really sticks out to me because I’ve played other awesome games where support makes this process super convenient and easy with links or a noted email in game and they typically get back to you in around 24/48 hours… this game needs some optimized support especially when it comes to game breaking bugs like this. My game is just stuck!
Please provide better support and contact options!
(I gave 3/5 cause I still had fun up to this point… needs better support/contact as of Nov 20th 2022)

Pointless ad farming game.

This game has an interesting premise, but offers absolutely nothing in terms of interesting game play. The game consists of just moving your alien around, get close to people for long enough and you eat them. When full, you return to base and convert your captured people to meat used to upgrade your alien….that’s it. All there is to it.

But the reason for the 1 stars is because the game is constantly forcing you to watch ads, and the longer you play the more often it forces these ads upon you. It gets to a point where the instant you close one ad, another immediately pops up. Sometimes even DURING game play, taking up half the screen as you’re trying to run around and eat people. And you can’t just close those, you need to leave the game to go to the sponsor’s web site…and when you switch back to the game ANOTHER AD! Every time you resume the game from another app or sleep mode you’re hit with an instant ad. It’s ridiculous.

And to get rid of these annoying and constant ads you have to buy a subscription plan. The game isn’t designed to be fun. It’s designed to be grindy and annoying to rope you into a needlessly expensive subscription that automatically renews and so id you forget about it after a while, it will keep draining your bank account even after you’ve deleted the game. Which is exactly what the devs are hoping for, I’m sure.

Really love the game but….

I really really like this game. I’ve even gone so far as to spend money on it. Which I certainly don’t mind doing with a game I enjoy. However, since this most recent update has gone live, the game crashes 2-15 times a day for me now. In fact, during the crash I just experienced, I lost over 1.5B in meat and over 500 of the blue eggs. I know this for a fact as I had just checked the amounts to see how much I needed to purchase my next bot level increase. I don’t even have any idea how much I lost in all my other resources but know it was definitely some of multiple types. At first I thought it may be something on my side of the connection. I’ve checked and it’s not. This is very frustrating because I don’t even know how much I’ve lost up until now either. I looked through the game and found nowhere to send in a support ticket (which every game needs in my opinion). I’m hoping to find somewhere online, but if it’s a lost cause I’ll be pretty disappointed. I’m not even sure how this game identifies its various players, so I’m not too hopeful but will try. I don’t want to stop playing this game and would like to watch it grow.

Update improved/broke things

New update is good for the most part. The new map is obviously to get people to stop saying it’s a rip off of fish idle, even though it is. It was just reskinned, but they are trying to improve it. But the map was better before. They fixed a crashing issue and an overheating issue, but they broke other aspects of the game too. Max levels of furnaces (?) increased, but they became less effective too. One is completely broken where it gets maxed out and still doesn’t help from freezing. The deliverer aliens cost too much to upgrade for practically no boost, and the catcher aliens are completely broken. Mine are upgraded to a cargo size of 299 but only catch 6 before returning to base. They are the closest and cheapest humans to catch too, so their catch doesn’t even register on my totals. The new stats are good though. Overall, good direction, but big miss. Keep trying to fix the bugs and add new areas. That’s the biggest drawback, it becomes repetitive far before you can truly max out, making the grind to max out impossibly long and overly tedious. Not worth it after a while.

Great game

I play constantly I’m at level 10 which drags on a bit it is taking forever to open level 11. It would be nice if there was a base in the ice area. I do agree with some of the other comments that it would be nice if there was a forum or something that helped but I was able to find you tube videos so no big deal. I also think back to when we didn’t have mobile games and internet and had to just roam around and figure things out for ourselves. So I’m actually kind of enjoying the challenges. It’s a game that takes time that you don’t have to either spend money or wait for things to re load to play again. You can spend money if you want to enhance the experience. You don’t finish the game in a week. Overall I’m loving it can’t put it down. Haven’t gotten bored yet!!!!

The stores are back, thank you

I actually love the game but I have a couple suggestions. For the black market you should take off the 90k crystals for the next level because it makes it seem like there’s another level when there is not. The amount of meat needed to level the carrier aliens does not scale well at all with the higher level mobs that give more meat to actually buy the upgrades. For instance, I need 170b meat to get my carrier aliens to the next level of being able to carry 360 items a piece. I need them to go up to over 500 to grind the next aliens that give more meat. The best mobs to grind long time will give 2b meat every 35 minutes with the game running. Idle doesn’t really work, to get those levels it will take an insane amount of leveling other things first. Even with all of this I do actually enjoy the game but I’m a completionist so this doesn’t bug me too much. I have had the game open nearly 24/7 for the last two months to actually get anywhere through to give you a frame of reference.

New review for new update

I have a very long review already posted but I’d like to address/edit it now. I hate they moved to a whole new version and all they say is “bug fixes” lol they’ve updated the look and changed a lot of numbers around. They fixed the sound glitch! I don’t like the rest to the freeze area at all. They seem to have made the warmers in the ice area make more sense for temps but I’ve maxed one in the second level and it still don’t stop the freeze from progressing which is disappointing, it only partially slows it down. Doesn’t bode well for the third level. I don’t mind the new info on the screen but maybe have an on/off switch? Some people don’t like the cargo alien info. Are the catchers restricted now? I don’t like that… also it still kills my phone battery and heats my phone up. NEW UPDATE: y’all I hate the new BEGGING for us to top up or use gems and confirming a thousand times. I accidentally clicked it three times now and have lost 300 gems I worked hard to save up and of COURSE y’all don’t let us cancel it once clicked.

In the words of other players.

The premise of the game is alright, fun for the first fee hours then it becomes ad watching simulator since you can't get the resources you need in a reasonable amount of time unless you're watching an ad every 2 minutes worth 30-60 minutes of gameplay. Devs do this to make you want to skip ahead using the store but the grind gets more tedious the further you go on so you'd end up spending way more money. Stats scale terrible comparing to how much they cost and the event they have going on is designed to be impossible to complete without paying.
20,000 of a limited currency within 7 days from an enemy type that spawns randomly and drops one at a time? And frequently flies into areas you don't have access to? And is extremely difficult for lower levels to capture? Oh but don't worry, you can pay money to get that currency.
The game barely has any idle mechanics besides these trees that generate currencies even when away from the game but take an unreasonable amount of resources to upgrade them in the first place. Then they barely give anything. I spent like 120 purple dna on a tree just to get like 10 back every few hours.

Debatable game

First off, I really enjoyed playing the game. I spent a lot of time grinding upgrades and lvls.
Any of the humans that run away will phase through the walls, making them hard to catch until you level up to a point you eat them quickly. The scaling for the game is horrendous, you end up paying a ton of resources for an upgrade that seemingly has minimum effectT on the game. The helper aliens are borderline useless. The hunting ones really seem to be a waste of time and meat. While the transporter helpers are so slow you end up having to run back to your base because you fill up way before they make it to you, not to mention their awful pathing.
Half of the upgrades make no sense as to what they are actually for or how they impact your game.

Then there’s events, there is no heads up that they are about to start, you just login and boom event. Then the main prizes are seemingly impossible to achieve without constantly being online. Not to mention the ranking. You don’t get on in a couple hours, boom 200 points behind, and is seemingly impossible to catch up unless you live on it..

Fun concept, frustratingly buggy

I like the concept of the game, been having fun with it. They could certainly do more with it - you’re basically just fighting the same enemies over and over, just a little faster or a little stronger. But I’m not bored yet, just hoping things change up as I progress.

The game is also buggy in one particularly frustrating way. I’ve invested in delivery aliens to collect my human meat, and they never freaking work. I have 4 aliens that are supposed to empty my stomach so I can eat more, and they just don’t do their job. They’ll show up to my character, and the first one might work, but once my fullness hits a certain number it just doesn’t go down any more (I see a little crate icon, meaning they should have grabbed something) - so the other 3 delivery aliens do literally nothing. I can eat maybe 1 or 2 more humans before I’m full again. Then I have to either wait like 2 mins before the delivery aliens show up again, or I have to walk all the way back to the main part of the base. Super frustrating.

Also, the $ transactions are stupid expensive for such a simple game. I’ve happily paid to remove ads from fun games many times before, but $15/month to remove a small subset of ads (there isn’t even a way to remove the rewarding ads) is insane.

Between the bugginess and the high $, I can’t say I’ll stick around too long - certainly won’t if the repetitiveness continues. Pity for such a fun concept.

Fun but prepare to grind

So so the game on an ad and decided to download. So far I have been enjoying it a lot. My only problem is the grind. Now I understand it should be a little bit of stocking up to upgrade, but some things want thousands of not millions of a material to increase only 0.032 of another material. Trust me when I say prepare to grind because it multiplies very fast when you start upgrading your alien and you think you have tons of materials. After two or three upgrades you are broke and have to farm for hours to get it all back just to spend it in 30 seconds on 5 more upgrades. Or you can just dump tons of money, which I decided I’m not going to do, and just buy everything. Your choice. Overall fun game but beachside the cost of some upgrades for very minimal gain I decided to rate it 4 stars. I’d say give it a try if you find yourself needing something to do every now and then.

great game

no bombardment of ads, no waiting each day for reloads, even has an fps counter to let you know your frame speeds! overall outstanding game, but one personal complaint. i can kill just about anything if those stupid little carrier drones could be turned off!!!!! i tactically use base as an infinite heal spot but every time i grab a human to heal, the stupid drones take it and i cant heal! i utilize tons of speed and slows to do this but fail most the time because last second a wild ****ing drone decides “oh let me help you NOT heal!” UGH! not the game or developers fault but would enhance a lot to be able to turn them off.

also in the ice zone. i dont take frost damage cause the power thing, but the spammy notification of
terrible frost over the planet
terrible frost over the planet
terrible frost over the planet
terrible frost over the planet
terrible frost over the planet
terrible frost over the planet
terrible frost over the planet
terrible frost over the planet
screen dark as can be
terrible frost over the planet
dude…….. *disable*

overall i just think settings needs some disable features for players that been on for months and tired of seeing the same incredibly obstructive messages, past that id vote 100% at least worth trying out!

Great Game but some bugs

I don’t do reviews often, but apparently I have to to let the devs know of a bug involving the tentacles. First off, I’m only eating this 4 stars and not 5 because comparatively over the other games I’ve played, it’s 4, not to say that it’s bad, but still.

Anyways, the tentacles. Seemingly, no matter how many I have, it only latches on to the first few that come in to your range. The faster you capture them, the more it hardly matters, but with the ones that take a while, it can be annoying. Plus, the most expensive upgrade of the tentacles; how many for each single target…again, no matter how many I have, it only seems to accelerate the speed on 2-3 of them at most. I have 6 right now. So it’s definitely a bug.

Other than that, pretty addicting. Also though, the diminishing returns feel like too much diminishing. Kinda dumb.

Unfinished

I want to start by saying I thought this game was AMAZING. played it constantly when I first got it, stayed interested for longer than almost any game I have ever had on my phone. Enjoyed the holiday event.

But then… it all fell apart after needlessly grinding for days. The last three or so areas you can unlock each take numerous hours of back and forth running around, or spending real money to level up harvesters just to allow you to stand still. All of that just to find out that this game eludes to so much more content than it has. There are unusable in game items, purchasable upgrades that upgrade things that don’t exist (yet I hope), cut and paste enemies, status effects that don’t matter, poorly scaling stats that cost exponentially more and more.

If you have gotten this far, I still suggest giving it a try, but I just want everyone else that falls in love with this game to be prepared for the heartbreak.

Props to the Devs

The first time I was asked about rating the game I gave a mediocre response. I was surprised when I was met with a message asking what they can do better. With a question like that I had to really analyze the justification behind my opinion. The only improvement I could think of was that the Background music was on a very short loop, making it repetitive. I also made sure they knew I loved the sound of it, it was just too short. It was like 2 days later when they gave the game a slightly revamped background music. What dev team does stuff like that these days? Thanks guys and keep up that gaming passion. Thank you for making the ads optional as well, it makes me happy to do so when I feel like it haha.

New update catching aliens acting strange

Overall I love the game, it has it’s flaws but I’m not bombarded with ads and game is addicting and has kept my attention longer than most games. I love playing it during my work breaks and just in general

I enjoy the new update and game looks a lot nicer and UI is overall better. But the catching aliens act sort of strange now, they don’t seem to venture far from the starting area, which means they aren’t getting much meat and seem very inefficient. Before they would catch in more difficult areas and be spread out but they kind of follow each other only attacking/catching the starter humans. Seems pointless in upgrading them any further.

Too Many Ads! Subscription Fee Ridiculous!

This is a really fun game with good graphics, interesting and engaging gameplay and a great concept, but it is totally ruined by the insane amount of ads.

I understand that the company invested time and resources into this gameplay but you cannot progress without watching the ads (which is fine) but NOT when every Ad you click on is actually TWO different 30 second Ads.

This is twice the amount of Ads for any other game and it gets old very fast. Looking for a “No Ad” purchase option? Nope. You can subscribe for a ridiculous $5 a week ($15/month or $100/Year)!

Who in their right mind would pay that for a single Game App? You can buy a full fledged PC/X-Box/PS game for HALF THAT MUCH - and the game is yours forever. Playing this very basic phone App would cost you $200 for 2 years!

C’mon guys! That is just a blatant rip off and it’s going to kill this game very quickly. If this was a $10-15 purchase, you’d already have my money. If there was a “No Ad” option I’d be all over this.

No way am I subscribing at those prices and I see myself getting annoyed very quickly with the full minute of Ads just to get a few resources.

I’d give this game a 5 for gameplay but it is currently only a 2 until they change the Ad frequency and offer real pricing options.

Direct clone of Fish Idle

This is just a direct clone and reskin of their older game Fish Idle. They just change it from a boat on water catching fish to an alien in space catching humans. The maps are legit the exact same, same locations, same farms, same everything. They didn’t even change the names of the medal farms from Fish Idle to match the new terms in Alien Invasion which is why it will say “increase Bronze/Silver/Gold farm” instead of saying Green/Red/Purple. Just like in Fish Idle the scaling is beyond ridiculous, once you get to the snow area unless you watch ads to get meat or blue gems leveling up skills becomes a grind not even worth doing. I’m sure once you unlock the level 9 stuff in the snow area it will add on fire pit areas that you’ll collect wood for to increase their radius, I know this because that is also exactly what you did in Fish Idle.

Developer needs to rebalance the leveling and actually add some new ideas instead of just cloning their old money grab game

Entertaining *and* annoying

This is a fun time waster, but it has one critical flaw, in that it won’t work offline due to the ad-spamming libraries under the hood. I don’t mind an occasional ad, but don’t prevent people from playing because they’re offline - eg. air travel, secure spaces, courtrooms, etc. Ads & metrics can be stored locally, until the next connection is made.

Also, 5-15 second ads would be less intrusive and net you more views overall. Many of the current ones exceed a minute, because of the forced interactive portions (I’m looking at you, Royal Match…)

Also, the double collect panels are unnecessary and annoying. The first is obviously to get you to spend gems (and buy more of them), but the collect screen which follows it is superfluous.

By

Things you can add

Ive been playing this game for awhile and even though its just a time waster i hope that it can develop into something much more and is actually a game i would loom forward to play. Thing I think could make the game much better is to add a function to make the catcher aliens actually do stuff even after upgrading their damage and cargo they still go for the low food and level npcs so they are practically useless i think adding a button where you can place/position them to a place to farm and having a dmg or cargo requirement would be much more beneficial and i would also suggest MOREEE upgrades on the alien that can actually change and evolve the alien further like the original black market which can change and alter the appearance of the alien which was really cool.

It’s nice to grind

I like it, it’s fun to play and I don’t mind watching the ads because the ads come with rewards; if you don’t choose to watch those ads the game doesn’t flood you with ads at all which is very nice. You have to grind a decent amount it the game but the the rewards are worth it, I only have one question for the Devs and that’s for when they’re going to update the game with new planets. I’ve spent 2-3 weeks grinding the satellite space missions and the end of grinding those continuous missions comes with a built spaceship. However, as of now the game hasn’t updated the perks of the spaceship, as well as actually discovering the new planets. So the game is nice I just hope the devs update the spaceship and new planets soon.

Fun Game, Developer Keeps Removing Purchased Upgrades

The game itself is pretty basic, but a fun idea. It’s easy to sit down and loose track of how long you’ve been playing. Game balance is non existent, which for a single player game that seems like an impossible statement. Progress through the game is built around upgrading your monster. This is accomplished by normally gameplay, and participating in events. Events are simple but fun, and you can gain “permanent upgrades” from them (supposedly). Every other month or so(sometimes less) “updates” are performed where they routinely reduce your stats; which negates or removes upgrades to your monster. Stats are typically reduced by 25%-40%. While the game is free to play, there is the option to pay money to get more upgrades. While you would normally think anything you pay for is permanent, in this game it is temporary until the next large update where you stand to arbitrarily loose some percentage of all your upgrades. Rather than try and balance the game and create more content that makes use of more powerful players, they just reduce the power of all players so they don’t have to actually work on any new content. I would avoid this game, even if you are looking for a brainless diversion. You’ll only end up frustrated once the game finally reached a fun point and you are knocked back a couple months worth of progress.

By

Why are you stealing from us?

This is a fun game, and I’ve had no problems spending my money on it… until now. Do not support this game unless you are ok with your progress that you work hard to attain and/or purchase being erased with no warning or fair compensation. In this most recent update, my catching radius was reduced by over 40 points (cut nearly in half) and my move speed was reduced as well. I had purchased thousands of gems, spent trillions of resources and dedicated months of phone time only to have it stolen from me. Literally days later, as a reaction to the anger their actions caused, they finally created a mailbox in-game and issued an insufficient and insulting 500 gem compensation. Much too little and much too late. They have handled this very poorly and are showing how little they care for their supporters.

I believe they are doing this to make it harder for us to earn during special events to try and force us to purchase more gems and event collectibles. I can understand having to restructure the game in order to maximize profit but not at the expense of those of us who have supported you financially up to this point. I would ask you to please make this right by (at the very least) reimbursing us with an appropriate amount of gems to compensate us for what we have lost.

If you like to watch ads for a dev… then this is your game

A fun filled game full of ads … one right after the other. For every perk you need to make this game worth your time. If you a person you has no life and time to waste in order to get devs paid so you can play a game full of ads that take up 30 to 45 secs each … download and play and many other idol play type games. This game could be great and even worth paying for but when the subscription comes down to it I doubt the ads go away for the perks because these devs are greedy and want to get paid. So join the fun in watching the ads like so many. But I’m gunna delete this game like so many prior also. Because; well, I have a life. Oh and yea.. if you want to talk to anyone about this game or complain about your purchase … don’t bother. No one cares. They don’t allow for contacting support of any kind… 🤣. Gotta love greedy idiots.

Also, it’s misleading because it’s not really idle because it doesn’t earn or do anything when you shut it down. Idle games are supposed to play in the background to earn money. Even with the extra spawned creatures. It’s like everyone goes to sleep when you shut the game down. Not very idle if you think about it.

Devs out of touch

Game is a huge grind, works best if you are able to sit your phone up with the game open over night, in order to farm the supplies you need to upgrade your alien’s power, catch radius, health etc.

Every update just seems to say “bug fixes” but never actually says what they fixed. However when you log in, if you pay close attention to your stats you will see they have nerfed some of your abilities.

Latest patch nerfed catching radius, alien speed. Made some bosses harder to kill and reduced their reward amounts as well. Appears all humans give less rewards.

Game periodically has events that reward extra permanent powers. As well as rewards you can work towards as the event goes on, like a ranking system l, higher rank means bigger rewards. This requires you to leave your phone running non stop on the game to gain any rewards. Been here for four events each event is 9 days long. All the events have had creatures that fly around the map that you must catch just like the humans for items to turn in. Every event is just a reskinned creature that flys around.

I’m still going to be playing it but I feel the developers aren’t actually paying attention to their player base, aren’t fully showing what they are fixing or needing and appear to be punishing players that have invested time and some money into the game to be stronger. Just nerfing their powers secretly and making bosses harder and less rewarding.

Suggestions

I love this game. I do a lot random game downloading and trying out games then reviewing for the community. I’m a veteran at this game I’ve restarted it a few times to keep up with your up dates and you guys have been doing very good. But may I make a suggestion? It’s going to be for the people that haven’t played it at all. I’d like to suggest you take away having to spend diamonds to get followers and collectors. Great idea for people that have not played it before. It will drive off new players. Secondly the time limit that you have added to waiting for new people to spawn is a little off the charts. It was excellent when it didn’t have that. I understand why you did these to space out game play and time but with out these your already spending hours on it. Thank you guys!!!!

Honestly I like it

Was expecting a standard trash game with ads every few seconds but surprisingly it’s not. In fact, there are ZERO forced ads in the game. All ads you watch are by choice, which is a refreshing change from most mobile games. I watch ads now and then just to get some free stuff but I don’t feel it’s necessary to make progress in the game. As for the gameplay itself it’s quite a fun loop. Despite being “idle” you actually constantly move around and do things so you’re never really just sitting around and waiting. I only have a few complaints. My main one is a lack of information on how certain things work. Specifically like what the various stats in the game do. For instance, I cannot tell what benefit I gain from the “Attack Power” stat, but it’s listed separately from the “catching power” stat, which I would consider the main attack, so that confuses me. My only other gripe is that you cannot choose which targets your tentacles are attacking, so if there is a special unit you want to consume for a reward it’s possible random enemies will get in the way and allow the special unit to escape. Some sort of priority option for the tentacles would be nice. Other than that honestly pretty addicted so far. Hope the game keeps improving.

Very good game

I was quite surprised by this game. I found it advertised on another game I play. It looked and figured it would be fun but you’d play for one minute with two minutes of ads. This is not one of those games. I’m actually very surprised by the lack of ads. The only ads you see are ones you want to watch and the game gives very good loot for doing so. All that being said, the game is quite good. There is no waiting for energy, or whatever, to build up. You can just play and play. I’ve been playing for two weeks. I wanted to wait to make sure it didn’t grow boring. It does get a little repetitive at times, but that’s because you’re gathering materials to level up. Now that I’ve opened a new area (the ice area), it comes with all sorts of new challenges. The only thing I don’t like about the game is that aren’t any directions on gameplay but it’s easy enough to figure out. It’s the best free game I’ve played in years.

Overall good but could be better…

My least favorite feature is the delivery alien! It is so distracting when you’re trying to catch satellites and flying astronauts etc to then have an alien with a cart chasing after you to pick up whatever you’ve caught/eaten! It’s honestly very annoying. I feel that feature isn’t really needed and can be removed from the game or maybe changed to where it follows your second alien around versus the main one that the player controls. Also obtaining DNA takes too long from my perspective and the cost of upgrading each alien feature is very high you have to collect meat plus multiple DNA colors which the game doesn’t give much of. Trying to upgrade your alien’s health is ridiculous expensive already and I’ve only been playing for two days at this point. Going to continue to play but if it becomes too slow to progress or if the game drags too long in order for me to make upgrades on my alien I probably will stop playing or remove the game.

Tried to charge me $65 upon download!!

I clicked on this game after watching an ad for it in another game that I play. As soon as I ok'ed the download for this game, I immediately got two notifications from PayPal (my PayPal acct is the only thing I have connected to my ap store account/apple wallet). I was extremely confused because I remember seeing that this ap was free with some in app purchase options. I was annoyed because I thought I was being scammed out of a couple of bucks. I was so wrong - I was actually being scammed out of $65!! The only thing that saved my & my money was that I didn't have anywhere near that much in my PayPal acct so the transaction didn't go hu hi happen through AlienInvasion Store! This wasn't some kind of trick to scam me either. I double checked & everything occurred exactly as it should of if I had made a purchase for real.

So I haven't even opened the game up yet nor played it. I'm going to give it a try despite what happened but I had to write this so that hopefully it will prevent someone else from being robbed of their money.

This absolutely needs to be fixed. There's no excuse. This is theft!

Updates

The game is great if your just starting but ever since the new updates the game seems lot more tedious than fun. New quest are great but at least if you’re going to make them collection ones make sure the quest items move is a set area where one can pick them up. I am referring to the part in the ice area where most of the mines are located. If you set the targets by difficulty why are you making the easy ones fly over walls when you know we lose progress capturing when they leave the range. This is personally ruining my experience without even adding that the bosses now do higher damage depending on the percentage your done fighting which is ridiculous when it dobles and keeps staking to the point one gets one shot and loses all progress. In short the game updates need better balance for the bosses and pathing for collection quest loots otherwise it is just a frustrating game where all your hard work can go into smoke at the whims of a bots deciding to go over walls even when labeled “easy”

Great game but very pay to win

Don’t get me wrong I love the game great time waster and I’ve progressed a good bit but when you have “events” for your game like the one going on currently catch pony spark it’s good event but 1. I feel like there’s not enough pony sparks to catch like when you first log in there everywhere but then it gets to a point where they just spawn at the slowest rate possible and I think you guys know that too because you can just buy the stuff you need for the even which is my next complaint 2. Cmon guys it’s an event you shouldn’t be able to pay to win for the event it’s just not fair to the people that can’t afford it and with the very slow spawn rate it’s just so hard (yes I am one of those people who can’t afford it) but regardless a very good game

A decent game that could be great without too much effort

Overall, this game is a fairly decent time-waster. As noted in other reviews, this is a reskinned version of a fishing game. That’s fine, but the developers missed a heck of a lot of the original fishing-themed elements when doing the conversion to make it about aliens. Expect to find many strange, unintuitive, messages about boats and fish. You’ll likely end up on the Reddit page for this game trying to figure out what some of it means and how to proceed through various obstacles that are about as clear as mud.

This game feels unfinished. Generally, you gain access to something new each time you level up. Upon reaching level 13, there’s simply no more new content. It essentially leaves you hanging, with no resolution in sight. Time will tell whether the devs address any of these issues. If so, and if they spend a day or two fixing all the fish-themed elements they overlooked when doing the initial conversion, this game could be amazing!

Fun and a true F2P!

I started playing this game about four weeks ago, and as it turns out, it’s excellent. Usually the problem with these games is the intrusion of ads and in this game it is entirely up to you whether you decide to spend time watching the ads or not. If you do, you’ll be handsomely rewarded with resources you can use in the game, including the one item that you can spend money on in it, making it a true free to play game.

The only reason to spend money in the game is to accelerate your progress, and since I was having such a good time playing the game, I didn’t really feel it necessary to accelerate the process. It’s fun as each part of the game unveils itself, there are new challenges, new mobs and new resources to go after so if you’re a grinder like me, you’ll really like playing this game.

If I have a complaint, I would say the only thing I would like to see different: upgrades should feel more powerful. When I spend 1500 green gems on more attack power, I wanna feel it in the gameplay, it’s only a small upgrade.

Other than that the gameplay is smooth, the game is fun. There’s a sense of accomplishment and I hope to see more content added soon. Thanks for a great game. It’s nice to write a review without a bunch of complaints about a mobile game.

The Grind Has Gotten Too Extreme

In the beginning, I really enjoyed evolving my alien and unlocking new areas. However, once you move through the frozen map and reach level 13, the grind becomes so overwhelming that you can spend literally months farming billions of materials to activate the reactor (to possibly reach another world? I can’t tell yet because I’m stuck farming billions of materials for James’ shop for hundreds of upgrades in a chain of grindy upgrades required for research facilities and so many other things), or you can spend a ton of money to buy the materials to upgrade the many things in James’ shop to improve the efficiency of the research labs so you can keep grinding drones to get enough materials to maybe have a chance to successfully activate the reactor. Something needs to be changed here. I’ve been gaming a long time and I’ve never seen such a deep never-ending trench of stacked grinds like this. All I want to do is move forward sometime in the next year. Don’t get me started on the events. Halloween event specifically. 2 days to grind billions of items by doing a separate chain of upgrades by farming pumpkins to increase the drop rates from witches? Come on, developers. Let’s be serious here. By the time people reach the frozen map and realize it takes MONTHS to get enough frozen meat to build your aliens immunity to the cold enough where you can even move through half the the map they’re not going to stick with it. That’s not even the worst grind.

Love it! But…

Can’t find a “help” option, or I’d submit this there. I’ve gotten to a lvl 13 alien, almost 14, and I can verify that no less than three times I’ve gotten the “catching speed” upgrade for the purple mine, but it hasn’t moved. It’s at level 25 of 100, and it should be closer to level 30. Verified level 28, but I’m sure I saw it “miss” a few other times before I made a point to track it in particular. I don’t think that’s the only thing that’s gone missing, either. Frequently the delivery bots will “glitch out” as soon as they collect from me, and appear at the (I think nearest… could be the last one they hailed from, hard to track that) base, but I don’t receive credit for the things they collected from me, which do disappear from my cargo. This is especially frustrating when I lose special items like the jellyfish event that’s going on right now. As my four star rating indicates, it’s not enough to abandon the game… yet. But I’d really like it fixed.

GREAT GAME… BUT NEED DEV HELP

This is more my fault. But wondering how to fix it without having to restart, because I’ve put money into the game and that would be a shame. Okay so I was Uber bored and played this game basically all day one day, and I didn’t really have much to do besides wait on a time to run out then I can progress much further. So me being dumb and thinking nothing would help. Set my clock 24 hours ahead of time. It worked perfectly got to do my thang play a little bit, kill basically everything I had unlocked. But now everytime I go to the game nothing spawns in besides what I’ve killed. It’s kind of a bummer because this is one of the first games where I’d actually like to upgrade everything and finish all the mission. But I feel hindered because I cheated a little bit. Like I said totally my fault. But devs if you know how to hot fix this I’d be eternally greatful. Thank you for this wonderful game, that’s actually like the ads, that plays fantastic.

Terrible Ice Mechanic

Overall, the game is an okay time killer with optional ad viewership. The biggest downside to the game is the ice mechanic which doesn’t add any interesting gameplay and instead feels like a way for the developer to pad the runtime of the game. Being in the ice just makes you slower and weaker so you have to return to base more often. I can tell the ice feature was not thought through because if the alien dies with levels of frost, it somehow respawns cold and has to warm up. Leveling up your ability to stay warm also just increases your max frost number which means you have a longer timer that you have to wait through to warm back up.

Additionally, the events in this game are all the same. It’s a reskinned flying creature that does not appear commonly enough to reach the top level rewards of the event. I’m also at 12 million catch rate and the event monsters appear to take the same amount of time to catch as when I only had 1,000 catch rate. What’s the point of playing to get all these upgrades if the developer wants to randomly decide that the upgrades don’t apply to an arbitrary enemy?

Ideas

So my first idea to make your pay to win/grind heavy game better is to add a horizontal option in the settings menu. You should also add a reason to build the rocket other than to have a decoration item in the main area. I mean seriously? You put a rocket in the game to get to another world but then when you build that rocket it does nothing? Like I understand you didn’t make the world yet but why put the rocket in the game when you don’t have anything to go with it? So with that rant out of the way, How about you remove the option to pay your way through the ufo event that is meant to be COMPETITIVE and not about who has more MONEY. That really pisses me off. Also take your time to fix the amount of time need to upgrade the alien please. Like I read someone else’s review and apparently it takes like a month to upgrade the ice market stuff, which I've barely been able to upgrade. And if you don’t want to fix that, please add a feature to target specific enemies or an afk mode. It doesn’t even have to be useful just make it so I don’t have to spend my life on this game to progress. It seems like you are all about the money and don’t care about your community. So if thats not what you want, please listen to us. To me. To your player base.

LOL - building the rocket is pointless

I actually spent all that time to build each rocket component (chasing down those annoying satellites that go off map) and there’s no place for the rocket to go. There was a message like “more worlds coming” and the rocket just sits there. Then I checked the reviews and people have complained about this for months. You’ve got to be kidding me. I thought the rocket was the whole point of the game. The game is named “Alien Invasion” but our octopus alien doesn’t appear to be invading anything. We’re stuck in an indoor maze of rooms with big doors. It’s also called an RPG, so the story I imagined was that I crash landed on earth and was brought to Area 51. Human scientists and engineers dismantled my ship for study and I break out to rebuild my ship. As I get stronger, I gain more access to the facility. Early on I saw there was a health stat to level so I thought that would be a military element at the base with guns. There are a couple of “agents” which was cool but humans that hurt are just regular people that, what, hit back? Please. Knowing that the rocket is pointless, that there is no end goal, and there is no consistent narrative element that makes sense makes this a delete. I thought there was something special here but it’s the same as countless others. Maybe I expected too much.

Pretty cool game

Cool game. Fun design and easy play. Upgrade goals take some work but aren’t impossible. I’ve learned something about this game recently that causes me to give it only 2 stars. During the events the progression of placement seems to be rigged. You are not competing against other people, you are competing against the program. When in second place, you can see how many tokens you are behind 1st place. You can also watch first place advance which it seems to do about hourly and at a rate of what looks to be 100 tokens at a time. The problem with this is you can’t just collect 100 at once (during the regular contests) and purchases start @ 200 tokens and go up from there so clearly you are not being outplayed by another human player. The program is set to add tokens at a rate you cannot beat no matter how hard you work for it. You will never catch 1st place unless you buy tokens through the events page and rebuy at a pretty expensive rate. If the programmers care to explain how this works differently then what I’ve just laid out, I guess I can reconsider the rating. But, for what this is, 2 stars is what you get.

Addicting but tedious

I’ve been playing this game for several months and I’ve gotten up to level 14. I find it to be a interesting diversion when I am watching TV or otherwise just wanting to doodle. I deliberately use the word doodle as the gameplay often feels like it. After a certain point the entire game is nothing but gathering resources. So you are moving your alien around the board capturing assorted resources in the hope of an upgrade. This is where the game gets tedious. Because of the upper levels you need to collect tens of thousands of unit resources but you can only collect 100 or so at a time. There are some upgrades that require billions of resource units. Thus you are doodling, moving the alien around forever. In early levels there’s often no clear guidance on how to proceed. And often you will spend a lot of time collecting resources to improve something only to find out you need to collect more resources to finally make it to the level. It’s very deceptive in some ways. If you are OK with that constant maneuvering around to collect these resources, then this game can be a mindless entertainment. Otherwise, it is a frustrating experience.

Fun… for a bit

Don’t be fooled by this page’s “previews” they are nothing like the current game, at no point to you fight another alien that looks like you. The game is thankfully mostly add free with occasional popups to allow you to watch an ad for resources if you want to. However the developer has worked on adding new items that randomly spawn in your path that create a full screen popup to ask you to watch more adds rather than focusing on the promised new content. It has been 7 months since they added new ways items to build and upgrade to get to other worlds yet they still say coming in future. It is not hard to level up to max and fully upgrade if you’re willing to leave your device idle while running game but having cargo carriers is necessary for that to work. You’re required to build a rocket to free a trapped individual from the starting area but the rocket does nothing and the guy runs off to unlock the ice area then gets stunned and no longer offers anything. Once you fully upgrade there is nothing left to do in the game, it only takes a couple months to do so becomes pointless to waste any more time on this game without the promised new locations.

Update:
To my point even in the developer response to my post, they say updates soon. It’s been 7 months since the last big update and I haven’t even played that long to fully finish all of the areas without spending money.
