I would give 0 stars if I could. I have written angry e-mails to Rode multiple times about the disgusting app they offer, but they don't care. Why would a support person care about anything their employer is doing? They just want to make money and go home.

So do I, by the way, but thats extremely difficult when you record audio and can't actually extract the files. You can't share files through any traditional manner. No messages, no Airdrop. If you want to e-mail a file, you'd better hope its a short file. (< 1 minute) Want to use File Sharing? Then you need to use this archaic web interface that hasn't been updated since 2008 (like RØDERecLE itself)

By the way, none of these problems will be fixed in the pro version. They offer more broken ways to share files, and more broken features for you to become upset with. It is my genuine belief that some executive let his 15 y/o nephew program RØDERecLE for free.

I have a 7 minute sound file paramount to my continued employment trapped inside the Rode Rec app. Too large to e-mail, and the soundcloud / file sharing features don't work. I've e-mailed Rode, I've messaged them on Twitter, and have heard nothing back, because of course I haven't. There is nothing I could do, except not have recorded the file in such an embarrassingly terrible piece of software. RIP, I guess.

Don't make the mistake I made. Do business with Rode's competitors like Samson or Yeti.

PRO option is nowhere to be found.
Yes there is an entry in Rode blog that they have taken it down to update it but to no avail. How am I supposed to record in 96kHz now?

Surprisingly I can share and delete my recordings normally despite other people having problems with that.

Why is this buggy app still around? There are no recent updates, it’s hard to move media out of it, just read the other reviews, thus tarnishes the Rode brand.

App will not run with iXY mic attached to iPhone 12 Pro Max. The mic powers up, I can even select 96Khz for my sample rate. But as soon as I hit the plus to start a new file, it crashes to the Home Screen.

Please do yourself a favor and don’t download this. RØDERecLE was clearly made by people who don’t care about anything, especially ease of use, efficiency, or safety. If you use this for anything remotely professional, you’ll probably get screwed over big time. RØDERecLE will decide to delete random tracks, export tracks as blank txt files that are 0kb, stop recording randomly, or simply freeze mid use. On the off chance it actually successfully records something, good luck getting it off your phone. No tracks will be saved to your phone, so you can manually extract; you’re at the mercy of this god awful company and their terrible servers. I honestly have never felt so strongly about a bad company as I have for this one. How terrible their app is has made me sell my two rode mics and exclusively buy from their competitors.
RØDERecLE will only give you nightmares and make you constantly question your poor, poor choices, if you download it.

Both the full and LE versions crash when I open the record option. This renders RØDERecLE unusable. I’m on iOS 13 which isn’t really any excuse for them as they are still selling the I-XY which is the mic I can no longer effectively use.

Yep, totally crappy, like it's designed for the first iPhone ever and asks you to go pro all the time so you can pay for a crappy app with more functions.

How do you delete the exported files? For the life of me there's no way I can tell aside from deleting RØDERecLE . Well maybe that's what I should do.

I bought a Rode Smartlav+ which only works through RØDERecLE. But this version does not support it so the lav is useless. They say on their website that a new version is coming “soon” but no details when. I emailed to ask but got no answer. Why do you even sell a product you KNOW cannot work???

I bought the pay version first. Junk. It didn't work right. So I downloaded this version to see if that may help for some reason. It didn't. Now every time I delete it, it's back when I reboot my phone. Rode, you should be ashamed for not updating this piece of junk. Not buying you Mocs anymore either. Booooo...

Downloaded this a long time ago and wanted to try it, but it won't record anything. Buttons are grayed out. Anytime I hit anything else it asks me if I want to buy the upgrade, but why would I believe that one will work better?

Don’t use this terrible product. RØDERecLE Store needs to remove this from their site to save people the headache of dealing with the nonsense of this company. I have to re-record everything using a different service now because there is no way to export it off of your phone.

Can’t email larger files because you get a message saying it’s too large to email (no problem doing so with other audio apps). If you try to generate an audio file to download online you can’t read or copy the IP address to retrieve the file. Don’t waste your time - You’re better off using the voice memo app on your phone! Very disappointed!! ☹️

WOW!!! You’d think a company with good hardware would have enough sense to put some effort into the software side of the technology. Nope!! Rode needs a reality check.... Hey!! Don’t offer hardware if you can’t commit to decent software to back it up. And if you can’t commit to making a decent app then don’t waste offer it at all. Do your self a favor and remove RØDERecLE from the store so we’re not all stuck in the abyss trying to make the S* app work. The creativity I had flowing was ruined by this less than half A* effort of an app.

RØDERecLE was once known as Fire before Rode acquired RØDERecLE . Now RØDERecLE seems to be fairly weak at best. But I can't get the LE version to even work. The buttons are grayed out and the only button that stands out is a request to upgrade to the paid version. The reviews at the paid version repeat the same issues for users - people can't get RØDERecLE to work, buttons grayed out, etc. Fire was a breeze to use and it's curious why RØDERecLE now is so buggy and difficult. Also a shame that a solid hardware company like Rode can't make RØDERecLE sing.

I have no clue what their budget is for RØDERecLE but I bet it isn't much. Really upset this morning. I needed a recorder for my Rode Wireless Filmaker Mic and decided to give RØDERecLE a try. I can not obtain the file. I assume you must upgrade to the paid version to get the file but I am not sure if that'll get the files off my computer. I am beyond ticked at Rode right now. It has actually made me wonder if their products are even worth the price they sell them at. I spent 400 dollars on a mic, at least give me an app that runs if your going to advertise about your app.

I downloaded the LE software so I could work on the recorded files on my DAW
Unfortunately that was not possible.
It’s not user-friendly and you cannot export normal Files – only CAFs
So now I’m going to upgrade to the $5.99 version
But my question is
why create an app that doesn’t work basically? Why create frustration and disappointment for your customers?
I’ll never forget the one and a half hours of time I wasted messing around with this stupid app
- it will affect my purchasing decisions in the future, of which I have many, concerning rode microphones

first off. NO DELETE button, how can you have an app with no delete button, in itunes delete ? saw that , tried it , and still the file lingers taking precious space on my iphone, did not like that, did a recording using just the headset mic, sounded good, but then we go back to the main problem, no delete, i know the excuses , "well its to protect the file from accidental erasure" no problem , you add a protect file button opposite the much needed DELETE button, I was really considering the upgrade version, but if its more of this, from a company that prides itself in making the top quality mics, this feels more like an after thought of an app, and we know your speacialty are the Mics, but i think you can hire a top notch team of quality app programers. and even then i think this might draw up some excuses relating to cost... but still if the product is right, then the expense might be justified.

I’d like to give this 5* and probably would have when I first bought it. However it’s been a “few years” since then and there have been no significant upgrades in capability or in UI.
From my use: it’s torturous to get a recording set up - yes, I know about presets - the sharing of the asset is looking as old as AOL and most times, frankly, it doesn’t work.
However, when the planets are aligned correctly, RØDERecLE really works very well. Close to excellent. But time moves on and I’m finding I’m using the audio capabilities of FilmicPro more than I am of Rode Rec.

I can not understand the reason for so many bad reviews, I liked RØDERecLE, I just found a bug, I can not delete more than one recording at a time, it is necessary to restart the application to continue erasing, repeating this several times.

I can’t understand the bad reviews for RØDERecLE. I have used it literally hundreds of times with the rode lav mic. It always works, sounds good and offloaded the files quick and easy. Maybe my workflow is more simple but it’s always worked for me. I use an iPhone 6s 16gb and no problems at all.
