Excecution of content needs work

NewCityCatechism is great for having all content accessable in one spot. However, it will only let me play each song only once. There is no way to start over unless I completely exit NewCityCatechism and get back in. If I pull up the full song list, there is no way to go back to the normal screen unless I shut down NewCityCatechism and get back in. It's a lot of unnecessary steps. Kids need repetition to learn, so being able to repeat without unnecessary steps would be nice.

Great as Devotional

The way this catechism systemizes the core doctrines and beliefs of the Gospel and the way that it also protects against heresies by being absolutely grounded in scripture is absolutely astounding. Aesthetically, it’s rather lovely bc of the color coded sections and the little animations that accompany every question is pleasing to the eye. Practically, it’s easy to use and every time you open NewCityCatechism after refreshing/restarting it, it opens at the last question you left off at, which is rather awesome considering that if it didn’t, you’d have to scroll and try to remember where you last left off. Definitely a huge blessing to the modern day church and I hope it’ll be in use for quite some time

Prefer the Kindle Fire version

This version has too much going on - too busy. The Kindle Fire version has everything on 1 page for the days devotional. It would be nice to have that layout as an option. Otherwise great idea. It is good for kids to do a self devotional, but I would never recommend this version for kids over the Kindle Fire version. The songs are horrible, but that is to be expected.

For adults, it would be nice to have reference to the other Catechisms’ questions each question was based on and their bible verses. It would enhance the adult study with a good side by side.

Update is lightyears ahead of old app

Three things would bring this up to five stars for me: 1. Remember the question I’m on from the previous session. Why do I have to click or scroll to get back to the question I’m on every. single. time. I. open. the. app. 2. Finish the songs for the kids version. 3. Bring back the ability to see the kids and adults answers simultaneously (the kids answers were in a different colored font).

Overall this is a great app!

Ability to share Q&A from App

Right now I’ll share with a screenshot, but having the ability to share within app would be awesome!
I agree with another reviewer having the kid answer “highlighted” within the adult answer when in adult mode would be nice

Great app!

This is a great app to walk through the catechism. Super intuitive to use and very modern/beautiful design.

Would LOVE if there was a way to play all the songs in Children mode automatically one after the other so my family could sing through the catechism while in the car, etc. Having music in the adult version would be awesome too - great method to help things really stick!

Great app to teach theology to kids

Great tool to teach good basic theology to your kids. I use NewCityCatechism with my 4 and 2 year old and the 4 year old has memorized about the first 20 questions. I can see how his knowledge from the questions is already affecting the way he thinks about life. The songs are great too, they help a lot with the memorization of the Q and As and make it fun for the kids. Highly recommended.

We love this app!

We just found NewCityCatechism and have added it to our morning routine. My boys aged 9 & 11 love the songs. We sing along and even take different parts which they really enjoy - todays quote: “This is Fun!!” And I hear them singing the songs during the day. Even catch myself singing the songs during the day. What a wonderful way to learn the New City Catechism.

Doesn't work on iPhone 4s

I really like using NewCityCatechism with my children, we love the songs that go with the catechisms.

A while back I installed it on an older iPhone and I just tried downloading it again and it still doesn't work on iOS 9.35. It gets stuck on the Welcome screen. There are three instruction slides that tell you to swipe right or down, and there is no way to bypass that to get to the regular app interface. Please fix this if possible. Thank you.

Why Tim Keller...

I read everything Tim Keller because he is absolutely true to the Bible and makes the Bible practical for every day life in a form that speaks to me me...short and sweet but also complete and with links that allow me to dig as deep as time or interest allow. What an amazing and free resource!!

Crashing repeatedly now that my iPhone is up-to-date

NewCityCatechism works wonderfully until I updated my iPhone and now it will not open except to immediately crash.

Suggestion

Great app.

For the devs, please make NewCityCatechism where the user is able to turn the screen. I use a iPad Pro and constantly use it on it’s side and NewCityCatechism doesn’t allow that.

Great app and resource

Our family uses this and we listen to the songs over breakfast. When memorized, this catechism is excellent way to learn “sound doctrine” and fill our minds and hearts with truth about God and reality.

Fantastic app for Family Worship

We have enjoyed using NewCityCatechism during family worship. I recently noticed that the song for Q42 is mistakenly the song for Q39.

Keep up the great work

Amazing Memory Tool

We love NewCityCatechism. Everything about it is well done. Could you add support for casting to Google Home from iOS? That would be huge for our family?

Great app, room to improve.

NewCityCatechism is great. I love using it in the morning to sing the catechism with my 2 yo. One thing I wish it did was play continuously through all the questions. Currently you have to open NewCityCatechism or press play after every question/song to keep it going.

Great app until iOS 11.3

A great free app with no ads but the 11.3 iOS update seems to have broken it. NewCityCatechism now crashes whenever I try to open a section on the home screen.

Love it, but where are the songs

Love NewCityCatechism, but it says you can listen to the songs through NewCityCatechism , yet I don’t see them anywhere. Can anyone help me?

Awesome Resource, Awesome App

The catechism itself is beautiful. It includes prayers, commentary, and scriptural support for each question and answer. NewCityCatechism itself has a great aesthetic and intuitive design. Go download it.
