Sadly, does not seem to work. Better to use their website or EPA’s AirNow site.
You be stuck waiting for update forever just like typical government! By the time you get an update, the fires and smoke have already subsided!
ValleyAirDistrict doesn’t work!
I downloaded ValleyAirDistrict a few months ago b/c I have asthma, and I refuse to believe the air quality has failed to change even once since then. An unseasonably cool and clear 80-degree day in Bakersfield? It’s a 2! 108 with suffocating cloud cover? It’s a 2! 104 with a brush fire sifting ash onto my windshield? Guess what—it’s a 2! If ValleyAirDistrict does not actually respond to air quality conditions, what good is it?
App doesn’t show air quality ratings anymore. I’ve tried in multiple cities in the valley, both on cell service & WiFi. Nothing. The weather app Wunderground gives a little bit of air quality information, I would suggest people download that over ValleyAirDistrict.
You have one job to post these readings yet it seems it’s been well over a week and I’m told that readings are not available every time I go to your site. Please explain. So I guess you get zero stars.
ValleyAirDistrict seems down a good percentage of the time and does not give updates to what the air quality is in the valley

For weeks now, in the middle of fire season it’s only shown that San Joaquin Valley air quality is a relatively decent ‘2.’ Meanwhile if you ask Siri it’ll tell you in no uncertain terms that the air quality is unsafe. ValleyAirDistrict shouldn’t have been released until it’s able to do its job.
Keeps crashing, hasn’t been updated in like forever...even just saw a tv ad touting its services including do not burn status...this is worthless!!!
ValleyAirDistrict just hangs and doesn't do a thing. Won't even let me to register my address. Ever since I downloaded it it just says it's gathering data. Don't even bother to download it.
I tried it for 30 days and it worked correctly for few days. I liked it when it gave correct info. But when I became dependent on its info it quit providing the info. It does not state if the service is free. I thought if ValleyAirDistrict is free then service is free. It need to let consumers know if the service is going to be free or not.
The latest update fixed the failure to read the current location. Thank You!
