The app is dead - unsupported

As the entire world goes digital, Hemmings seems to have decided to go backwards. HemmingsClassicCar is a dead end. Asks you to allow them to send you updates and there is nothing to HemmingsClassicCar - a single picture of an old car, and that’s it - nothing to click. It’s just dead.

Used to be a Great App

Won’t open, no longer works. I expect a whole lot more from Hemmings (like getting what I paid for).

Awful

What a terrible disappointment! I couldn’t wait to remove HemmingsClassicCar ASAP!

By

New App

This new App format is useless. I’m out! If there was a rating for “ no stars” this would get it!

D.O.A.

No fuss, no muss. No kicking or screaming. Unlike the Dylan Thomas poem, Hemmings just quietly rolled over and died. It was a sad death - No one came. (To print you HAVE TO rate it.)

Hemmings app was great … this is not worth the download

They went from great app to who or what is Hemings or Hemingway? Who cares?!

By

Dead

HemmingsClassicCar is dead. Don’t bother uploading it.

I love the magazine, but it doesn’t work

I have an active subscription but can not download issues. Apple won’t refund, they just send me to Hemmings. Hemmings only answered one of my emails. They told me to click the cash button and to contact Apple if I wasn’t happy and wanted a refund. There isn’t a cash button but my emails saying so were ignored. Catch 22 with the companies pointing the fingers at each other.

I’m a long time customer and very disappointed in the almost total lack of support from Hemmings. This is a great magazine but I don’t recommend paying to not be able to read it :(

As good as it gets

Having absorbed my older brother's "Motor Trend"s as automobile reading material and then quickly adding subscriptions to "Car & Driver" along with "Road & Track" all 5 years before I had my drivers license ("Car Life"came later but stopped publishing all too soon), it was apparent to my family & friends that I was infatuated with 4 wheeled vehicles. 50 years later and still infatuated, I'm looking for that special '69 Charger to replace the one that was stolen in '74 and/or a '66 or '67 Riviera because they are drop dead gorgeous and the epitome of the '60s personal luxury cars. "Hemming's Classic Car" is like those cars: the best of its genre; has a great group of writers and puts out a magazine that's always well worth the money. And the delivery with HemmingsClassicCar is quick and complete. My only wish is for more. Perhaps more material per issue or more issues per year by having some special edition issues on makes and/or types such as "Postwar Woodies" or "Mopar Wagons, 1955 to 1975" or something like "The 1967 to 1974 Muscle Car (Ponycar, Corvette/Cobra, etc.) Wars".

This application is garbage. Magazine is great...if I could actually read it

I love the magazine, but please stop rolling out software that crashes! I am working to get my money back from a subscription that won't work with an iPad

Works great

Works great on my Air 2. Issues download quickly and display quickly as well. I can flip thru pages as speedily as I could with a paper magazine. I can choose whether to download issues or not and whether to retain them on my iPad or delete once I've read them. So what more do I need? The rest of the Hemmings magazine apps work equally well.

Awesome

If you are a subscriber to Hemmings Classic Car magazine and you opt for the digital subscription HemmingsClassicCar is awesome.
I can download complete issues, zoom in the articles and photos and enjoy my editions like never before.
Not sure why others have difficulties but it works on my iPad2 and iPad4. The resolution is outstanding.

Favorite Magazine

This is my absolute favorite magazine. I have been reading since 2007! I read and retread my editions then place them in binders to retread in the future! The articles are written in such a way that I even understand the technical stuff. A real good read and a keeper!

Great Magazine

I look forward to both the digital copy on the road and the hardcopy at home. Never have to miss an issure is an outstanding feature... Content is even better and the pix are good enough to frame.

By

Great Magazine

This digital copy is wonderful, I look forward to getting this more than the print version. It's much easier to access these and store instead of years of bulky magazines.

Classic Car sub app need updating

Apple is sending alerts that HemmingsClassicCar should be updated in order to keep working.
Slowness in loading is frustrating; Top Gear, Consumer Reports load fast, so you can start reading much sooner.
John, subscriber for many years.

The Greatest Classic Car Magazine

I have been involved with classic cars since I was 14. This is probably one of the best and most complete magazines on the subjects out there. Keep up the good work.

Hemmings Classically simple

Great app. Makes reading the magazine easier than print. Rarely buggy, able to click to items of interest including advertisers. Why use paper?

By

Great magazine

This is a great magazine that covers older cars not covered in the usual car mags. This new app is much better than the PDF app that Hemmings used, however, the new app still crashes occasionally.

By

Great articles.

Been reading the print version for many years digital version is just as good.

HCC

Most enjoyable reading in the old car hobby. HemmingsClassicCar is a huge improvement over the print edition! I wish I could obtain all my magazines on my I-pad.

By

Great E-Mag!

Every bit as much fun as the paper version, but without using up resources. And pictures that span pages no longer have that annoying roll crease. A superior experience!

Great magazine, great app

This is a very practical and motivating magazine. Gets me off TDC and energized to work on my TR-3. App loads issues rapidly and functions very well. Enjoy this a lot.
