Since the update a little over a week ago, the app is extremely difficult to use. The map moves too fast, and the resolution seems worse. There is a glitch as well that occurs after receiving an alert. For instance, if I get an alert that there is lightning nearby, and I click on the alert, it takes me to a static zoomed in map. But then when you return to the radar map, you cannot get any the watch or warning boxes (that normally disappear while the map is in motion) to go away. These boxes cover the radar image. Restarting does nothing. Frustrating. I’ll switch to something else.

Despite the most recent update, this app is a major data hog and battery drain. Something was using major amounts of data and I was able to confirm that this app was the culprit by resetting the usage statistics and rechecking less than a week later to find that it used 1.7 gigs. The total of all my other apps was less than .25 gB in that 6 day period. Before this I tried scaling back the app’s location access but that made no noticeable difference (“only while using app” instead of “always”). Besides the data, there were days when it was responsible for more than 60% of my battery drain.

Don’t like the radar. The previous version had color variations that would let you see the intensity of approaching hail. This one is green, yellow, and red. I would also like to have all of the semi transparent watches and warnings be an option instead of default. Every time I open the map, I have to go through and shut off the watches and warnings to get a clear view of the map and the things I want to see like earthquakes and storm tracks, I have to put on manually. Somebody please enlighten me on how this one is better. Wish I had a choice, I’d go back.
