Not worth it

Restore did not work.
One magazine at a time…. Limited content (not like the magazine) and weird variable pricing on prior additions.
Cancelling, but they I’m sure they will keep the one year. I can’t even look at the issue that brought me back without paying for it.

This could be a good app but there is no consistency at all to when the magazine comes out. It's now July 8 and no July issue (which is already in stores), or any news online for when it will come out. However, this didn't stop them from charging us for it over two weeks ago. And this isn't the first time they've done it either. Canceling my subscription because of it.

The content itself is good, with added content for digital subscribers. And it's easy to move through the various articles. But how can you reward a service that treats its customers so badly?

Where is the July issue? Keep up or refund subscriptions!

The July download was nearly halfway thru the month before it was available. Worse, they have not responded to digital customers with an apology on what they are doing to resolve this issue in the future. No official comment is worse than admitting there is/was a problem, because it makes the company look like it doesn't even acknowledge that there is a problem. Finally , if there is an issue where customers have been inconvenienced (after subscribing), there should be an incentive or special offer to given to them for the inconvenience.

No more video's

I had purchased 2 magazines, before with great layout and increadible content which had interactive video's which I thought was a great beginning to viewing online magazines! But then, something went wrong, and the new magazine is without videos and can not be accessed by my IPhone 7 Plus 256g (a Ferrari of a phone)!! Please fix, so my recent purchase as well as my old purchases on ITunes will give me the original content with Video as before!! Also, the way the pages and sections where displayed before is superior to how it is now, a simple Adobe acrobat file!! Please bring back old layout to include videos!!

Subscribed for a year could never download issues and then when I finally was able to get a few on my ipad they updated app and deleted my issues. I contacted Maxim customer service and they basically said there was nothing they could do for me.
I demanded a full refund or a new active 1 year subscription and instead of apologizing for the inconvenience and hassle and reactivating my subscription they have given me the run around and never provided me with the services/digital magazine that I paid for which essentially is business fraud...offering a product...taking payment for said product and not actually providing the product!

I paid for a one year subscription and got my first issue right away. Now I'm waiting for the new issue. I go on Zinio and there it is for $5.99. But do I, paying customer of maxim, get it? Apparently not. At least not yet. Apparently you have to buy each issue individually to get them when they come out. If you pay maxim for a whole year then it seems like you are less important, which is a funny way of treating customers. I've looked all over the maxim site and in the iTunes store for a way to download the new issue, since it doesn't seem to be doing automatically. No luck. I sent maxim an email about the issue. No reply. Not cool. Not cool.

Great app BUT...

MaximMagazineUS is wonderful lots of good photos and extra videos. The quality is great and it's very user friendly. BUT, the digital copy is not available for weeks after the paper copy. I have friends that I'm borrowing their paper copy because my digital one isn't available yet. This has to be the magazines fault all of my other digital magazines are available the same or maybe the fallowing day as the print copy. If this isn't changed by the time my subscription runs up I will switch back to paper, because lets face it the magazine itself is wonderful. Or maybe by then Maxim will realize most magazines offer free digital with a paper subscription. That really is the best of both worlds.

Enjoyable, but not complete.

I have enjoyed having my subscription on my iPAD, however some support for landscape view would be nice. I really don't have a great justification for it, I would just like to have the option.

Also, seeing special editions on the the "newsstand" and not available for download with my subscription is very annoying. I am paying for the subscription on the iPAD so I don't have to buy the magazine from the store. Not both.

Other than that I enjoy MaximMagazineUS and will up the rating once I get the same editions here that I can get from the store.

New issues too slow.

I love MaximMagazineUS and I love being able to read Maxim on my iPad. The entire mag looks great and the extra features are cool too. The thing that keeps me from giving a 5 is that people were reading the current issue a week before I can download it? I paid the same amount as if I ordered a standard paper magazine, so why would I have to wait?
Other than that if you don't mind waiting a bit for the new issues this is a great subscription to have!

I messed with and messed with this newsstand app for 2 months and nothing seemed to fix the subscription issues I was having. My sub seemed to have stopped in August when I last used MaximMagazineUS on my iPad, that I have since sold away. I have this giant new phone, who needs an iPad, right?

Anyway I completely removed MaximMagazineUS from my phone and went and downloaded a fresh copy from MaximMagazineUS Store. I then accesed MaximMagazineUS and restored purchases, waited for that to do its thing and "wham!" all issues I should have access to showed back up in the list with the download link under them. No purchase price or anything.

I am utterly amazed that this has fixed my problems, I swear I tried this a few times in the past with no success. I did this as a last ditch effort to fix my problems and after Apple reminded me via email my sub was going to renew in a couple of weeks. Maybe that had something to do with the success in fixing this. Anyway I hope this helps others, if not, good luck in the struggle. I'd have given more stars but tech support is lacking on MaximMagazineUS.

App is hit or miss depending on issue

I believe that maxim, as a magazine with great content, has done a great job overall porting itself to a digital format. Maxim uses the functionality and utilities a digital magazine has available to it while holding true to the print magazine format, especially important to those 'digitally conservative' who want it paperless but not built like a popup video book. Unfortunately, that style changes almost every issue: more tech here, less organization there.... Hit or miss for people like me.

Won't download

I have the print subscription, and still just ordered the Ipad (2) version. Tried to download the first issue (January) and it keeps coming up with an error saying there was a problem downloading the issue. Please fix ....thanks

*Update 01/16 * January issue FINALLY downloaded, even though I already read the paper issue, just need to get the new ones out there faster along with other devices.......BUT, it works!

If I could ask for one thing….

This is a great app. So far it is the best magazine app I have seen with interactive articles and pictures that jump out when you double click. If I could ask for one thing it would be pinch to zoom the articles. There is no way way to change the size of the type. It would be nice if you could zoom in on the articles to make them easier to read. Nevertheless, it is a great magazine app.

The iPad app subscription of the year. A magazine that does things others don't. The only thing missing are the picture spreads of yesteryear that lead to the best of today. JLH...3rd time thru the line. Wish I were a subscriber for the first two.
The stories/articles that you read, take you to places you can only think about.
The humor...this list could go on forever.
Only 4 stars...think about the photo shoots that go back.

I just wish they would take my iPad mini into consideration, they seem to think that everyone has a retina display display iPad. The font is so small on some parts of the magazine I can barely make it out. They should at least allow zoom. Or just enable screen rotation. I don't mind turning my screen on its side and just having the same content just work the same. It'd be clearer and easier to read. All I did to get my December issue, by the way, was to press the missing issues button, I got my December issue super quick.

Bought this magazine because I thought I needed to read more but to my surprise this magazine is very entertaining. I normally read GQ but it is too serious. This is more humor mixed with a men's magazine. I like all the extras the iPad edition has. Bought the paper as well because I like to read while I'm in the can and this way it won't use up too much memory on my iPad.

The new Maxim App is the worse in the market.
With the new upgrade I lost all my old PAID issues, i called Maximum support 5 times and they are completely lost. They told me SORRY management made de choice to remove the old issues.. we paid for the issues and is ilegal for Maxim to take what we paid out with out our approval, this is totally agains the law..
I suggest they fix this problem as soon as posible or it will be heavy legal action against Maxim. Overall I think this guys are done with this crappy magazine...
Is all comercial adds and crapy stories....

It's awesome how interactive the magazine is. I, too, wish the magazine could be viewed in landscape, but I'm sure this has to do with how the software is written for it to be interactive. I wouldn't mark it down for that. I think it's a great way to read the magazine and I'm stoked that I get all the bonus edition books as well, including the calendar.

Loads quick and rarely crashes but more interaction is key

Unlike other magazines, maxim has managed to create a fully functioning digital magazine that is clearly efficient. More interaction would be nice though utilizing iPad's touch screen. Using the same technology in iBooks when you slowly turn from page to page, you could peel away at clothing using a digital animation almost as if the viewer/reader was in control. Maybe even incorporate a mini game related to the articles and or models. However more interaction shouldn't come at the expense of accessibility and efficiency.
