I made the mistake of not reading the other reviews before I purchased ParentsMagazine and it's a mistake I won't make again! I bought the year subscription on my iPad - I was never a print subscriber. Well, on the "store" page it says I have purchased the subscription and to go to my library to access the magazine. But when I do so, my library is totally empty. I tried signing in to see if that would work - it says that I am signed in, but still nothing appears in my library. I tried to reboot my iPad to see if that would work - nothing. I haven't tried to contact anyone about this problem, but from the sounds of it, I'm not going to get any satisfaction by going that route! I would NOT recommend ParentsMagazine to anyone and only wish I'd taken the time to read the reviews beforehand - I'd be $10 richer and definitely not so angry! Someone, anyone, please fix these problems!!!!

ParentsMagazine simply does not function properly, which is a shame and a disappointment. I have paid 9.99 for a digital subscription but have received NOTHING! And there has been NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! In fact, I can't even sign in to my account thru ParentsMagazine ; the sign in button is apparently a dead dummy -- push "submit" all day long and still nothing ever happens! The only magazine issues that I have been able to access are those that I have paid for and downloaded separately -- even though I have already been charged for a one-year subscription! This is WRONG!
Parents Magazine, iTunes... Whoever is responsible, you need to fix this NOW! ParentsMagazine makes both companies look extremely greedy and utterly incompetent.

Hi,
I'm using a first-gen iPad with iOS 5. I successfully subscribed to Parents magazine and my account was debited with no problem . . . but when I log into ParentsMagazine there are no issues! The woman at tech support said that I needed to sync my iPad to iTunes, which makes no sense, since iOS 5 allows users to go completely without a PC. Magazine apps have been on iPad for a while--any other magazine app allows you to see a library of past issues and download them easily. Whenever I open ParentsMagazine, it only shows me an empty library with no way to download an issue. I've synced to my coputer, deleted and redownloaded ParentsMagazine , and nothing. Parents magazine, fix your app!

I just downloaded the Oct. issue because I purchases the yearly subscription hoping you have finally fixed the problems from the last two months but unfortunately you have not. The oct issue is just like the aug issue in that you can only read the first page of each article. Its so frustrating that this problem has been going on for 3 months and you still havent fixed it. Dont you care about your subscribers and the money we have wasted? This is very disappointing! Dont waste your money on this until Parents listens and fixes the problems with this application

After finally getting ParentsMagazine to work after the last release I was able to get the November issue. The issue itself works fine and it has great multimedia features (that's where the 2 stars are earned). I was eagerly waiting to see the newsstand feature of automatic downloading and cover change in the newsstand icon but I was disappointed when it did not work. I got a notification that the new issue was ready and that I needed to go into ParentsMagazine to download it. Not only that but the cover showing in the newsstand icon is the one for November. I am not sure if this is an issue with ParentsMagazine and how it is using newsstand or if it is an iOS 5 issue (no other magazine I have is using newsstand yet). I hope that they resolve this (at that time I will upgrade the rating to 5 stars)

Like the title says, is there a retina version of the magazine? Looks really pixelated when viewing the magazine, readable but blah. Also there are soooo many ads. It's like when first opening the magazine, you have to scroll through a million pages of ads before you get to the table of contents. After that, every other page is a 1 or 2 page ad. I know ads are required for income, but this is jus way too much. Takes away from the flow

One of the update says issues can be downloaded in the background, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me.

Hasn't crashed on me or anything though so that's good

I have to say I really liked ParentsMagazine previously but since they changed it to be "more like the print version", it's simply boring. If I wanted a print version, I'd get a print version. Instead of trying to sell it as "more like the print version" they should have just come out and said "We're being cheap by eliminating your ability to connect to extra content and your ability to easily navigate ParentsMagazine ." The new format is simply uninspiring. This magazine is now last on my list of monthly reading instead of first :(. Meredith corporation I hope you are reading this.

I've used ParentsMagazine for months and I've loved it. I never even read my print subscription anymore because I always have my iPad 2 with me. I just went into library to download July and all the previous months need to be downloaded again? Why? Nothing has changed on my end. Same iPad. The signal to my Internet is low due to where I live and it took me forever to download those! I won't be able to do it again and it's a shame because I'm always rereading relevant articles. I love parents magazine but this disappoints me.

I loved ParentsMagazine and subscription. But ever since the new upgrade, I've been very disappointed. Every other page now displays an advertisement. I totally understand how ads are important to marketing and costs, but putting one whole page ad every other page is ridiculous! It completely ruins the entire smooth flowing interface that originally attracted me to purchase this subscription in the first place. Do you really need to cut an article in half just for an ad?

I had trouble logging in like everyone else. I already have a subscription through the mail. After numerous failed attempts, I finally clicked on the "Account" button on the bottom of the screen. From there I clicked "Get Started" and entered my login info again, and it finally recognized me. I had to enter my account number to verify, but it worked! What I really like is that I have the option to download past issues. I look forward to having a few issues to flip through wherever I am!

This is one of the best magazines for iPad and a definite must-have for Parents readers. Each magazine includes the full content of the print magazine PLUS additional photos and content, and even short videos. I love the full motion covers and linked table of contents, plus the links in articles are easy to use and actually useful. The only downside is it takes me about thirty minutes to download an issue, but it also takes me thirty minutes to drive to the grocer and back, so who cares? Absolutely recommended.

I understand that people who have the paper subscription may not be too excited about ParentsMagazine. Well, my paper subscription is up and I am thrilled that I can get the ipad version instead. No more paper - yea! I am sure the extra content will be awesome too. Also, I live outside of the US so this is perfect for us expats. Thanks!

Reading Parents Magazine issues using ParentsMagazine is wonderful. They downloaded quickly and completely, and I was was able to read the issues with no problem. The occasional video feature offered definitely is a bonus. I'm so glad I gave ParentsMagazine a try!

This is awesome! They've done an amazing job of adapting the print version to a seamlessly integrated iPad app. It DOES have a few minute learning curve and activation was confusing at first but thats because I didn't read. Once I figured it out, I'm really excited about it. Even the ads are slick and cool.

I was leery as to whether or not I would be able to access the magazine with my subscription number (based on the previous reviews). I was able to register very easily and quickly. The format is engaging and not just PDF images of the print version.
