HiDef Radio - Free News & Music Stations Reviews

I like listening to the crossroads blues radio on HD2 but it is hard to find and the reception is spotty. It is a great portable solution! I also use this company's scanner app it works great and in an emergency could be a real lifesaver. If something happens on the news almost anywhere in the world that local areas police Fire and ems usually shoot to the top of the most listened to list giving you information and incite into what's really going on you are never going to get from the local news!!!

I have a few issues with HiDefRadio.

First, why should I pay to remove ads on HiDefRadio then get to listen to ads on the stations? This type of app only serves one purpose for me, find a station I like then go to the station and pay them to get rid of ads. I did that years ago.

Why is it called HiDef radio when most of the stations are 64kbps? The name of HiDefRadio suggested to me perhaps they were culling stations based on quality, obviously not.

The second issue is about 3 minutes after I started HiDefRadio a game started loading. I suspect because there's a large "X" across the developer's name and one might think that "X" is to cancel out the ad. However, when you peer at the little letters, its confirmation to load the game. About 30 seconds later I felt my SE heat up for the first time since I bought it 2 years ago. I don't like being messed with and I like my battery.

If you are into due diligence, click HiDefRadio Support button and take a look at their website. Rather blatant. Sort of a bait and click answer to earning money on the web.

I've been through some downs in life without any ups (a term is: ups and downs). I found HiDefRadio to help get me through a depressed moments sometimes. I got an IPhone 4 that had no radio app until I found your site with music for different trends/people. It's Great to have on my phone until times get better for me. Great job you guys & gals!

With as much attention as HiDefRadio needs, I may as well learn to play the fiddle myself!
This used to be my go to radio app. Small, simple & it worked. But they kept adding more and more ads. Now these new pop-up ads stop the music EVERY 15 minutes! To get it to start again, I have to either find the station again because it has kicked back to the main screen, exit HiDefRadio because it's frozen, or reboot my device because it's COMPLETELY LOCKED UP! And I have to do this EVERY 15 MINUTES!!! Kinda makes it useless, don't ya think?

Great idea but it seems more often than not, I'm refreshing hoping it will find the stations I like (or any stations for that matter.) When it actually works, it works well. But more and more when I open HiDefRadio , I get a message that the server is full or the station can't be found and I should refresh. After refreshing, closing HiDefRadio and re-opening about a dozen times, I hit my wall of frustration and open another app or consign myself to a music free day.

Wow I was really surprised how well this works for only 3$. There are so many channels for all types of music. Some don't work but they do get refreshed. Unlike Pandora, this can play all night without it stopping to make sure you're listening. There are commercial breaks but it's no biggie.

My wife and I love listening to the pet shop boys, and through HiDefRadio we can listen all day to our favorites. Add to it Police, Fire and Ambulance scanners makes this a Must Have! Everything from Beatles stations to Bowie, Sinatra, the available music is amazing.

Really great app, however it would be great to have larger start stop buttons as well as a full screen mode with our skin that can be accessed when the phone is locked. Keep up the good work!

Ever since I started using HiDefRadio I've been finding great new songs! Cant believe I've been missing out on so many wonderful artists :D big thanks to the creators of HiDefRadio!!! No more ads, I'll be buying that very soon 👍

App is great, when you can find a station that works, which takes about 48 tries.
Stations disappear, sometimes when you're still listening to them.
The ads are annoying.
Trying to connect is a marathon of refreshing, closing out HiDefRadio & repeating three times.
Could be epic, but is just an incredibly buggy, aggravating experience.

iPad: I would have kept HiDefRadio if it had better organized the genres and locations of stations. I was hoping to see stations sub organized by sub-genres (example: jazz-Latin jazz, smooth jazz, Dixieland etc...) and organized by country and state. I didn't want to spend hours looking for a radio station I knew I heard on a road trip (knew location) but didn't remember name. Otherwise it was ok.

When I can get the station, the music is fantastic. It does have a lot of stations that won't connect. However, there are so many that I always find something I like. I'm happy with HiDefRadio .

It’s got every radio that you can imagine I listen to rock 109 which plays classic rock. I always loved the older rock because it’s the era that I grew up in The 80’s is my favorite era. To the developers, keep up the great work guys.

I love the comedy channels. I was gonna subscribe to siriusxm just for the comedy channels but found HiDefRadio and am saving a ton of cash. The interface uses the same gui as their police/rf scanner apps. Oh well, still functional and meets my needs.

I love the fact that I can pull up stations that are nothing but music of the 80s, otherwise known as the years of junior high school and senior high school. It sure does bring back a lot of great memories!

I love that I can just push the pause button, I work and there's no music here so I can stop it whenever I need to, it's awesome I can choose any genre of music great application!!! AAA+++

Like HiDefRadio when I am sitting down doing hobby stuff. Could be a little better organized but then I only have a couple of favorites and don't need to search a lot.

I love HiDefRadio. It was the first streaming app. I used to listen to music. I was waiting in the Dr.'s office & wanted to listen to 1940's music, which I found on HiDefRadio. It made my wait very pleasant.

I love several different genres and HiDefRadio has them all! Sure does make my workout at the Y pass in a hurry!!

Solid app - stable connection & great selection (at least in my particular genre). I like how unintrusive HiDefRadio is also. A+ / 5-stars across the board, as far as I'm concerned.
