I have tried to use EasyMeasure for years, and I don’t get it!! It says to line up the baseline with the base of the line of the wall base. What is a baseline? I see a square with a bunch of arrows that move around on my screen. What am I supposed to be aiming at what? In the video it shows somebody standing with a phone at their eye level pointing down to the floor in the corner. But when I do that and only says my 22 foot room is only 6 feet long. What am I supposed to be aiming at? And what about the 2 feet distance behind me? How do you in that? If you put the phone against the wall you can’t push the stupid photo button! And you can’t see the screen to see your measurement because the phone is against the wall!
I try and measure my room with my phone at my nose, aiming at the floor, or the base of the wall, or the middle of the wall, or the ceiling in the wall, and I get somewhere between 19 feet and 23 feet, when I move backwards a couple of feet to try and get as close to the wall behind me, it says it’s now 16 feet. I watch the videos, I try to use this thing for years, and this thing is all over the place. Yes I calibrated it! Yes I said the lens height is 52. Yes I said the lens height is 6’2”. Yes I said the lens height is 6 feet. Yes I sent the lens height is 5 feet. Nothing I do no matter where I am it makes any sense? Don’t waste your blood pressure!
The audacity EasyMeasure has to propose the option to “allow” you to import photos only to then to have a ad block you and still play the ads audio even after you close the ads close tab(button) while it lags compensating the time it still has so it can still get paid 🤦🏻♂️. Then the photos you imported don’t even load!!! EasyMeasure says that you need to pay the full version 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️, like bro? Really? Garbage app, huge waste of time and space in EasyMeasure Store tbh… just need some dumb height assumptions, it didn’t need to be accurate I just needed a estimate. Couldn’t even load a picture, fails to achieve the basic stuff 1/100 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
This is my Review. Hope everyone has a good day.
I used the AR feature first after install and maybe that’s the problem because it’s not working at all. It’s telling me my office wall is greater than 3500 feet away and that’s not right.
I should have paid more attention to what the readings were before I hastily bought the “upgrade” so I could measure things because now I’ve wasted $9 for nothing.
I tried doing the manual calibration and that doesn’t help either. Also the small box to measure things in the center is off screen I can’t see it anymore after I tried to reposition it around an office sign to measure its dimensions. Should have saved myself $9 and just used a measuring tape. I’m using an iPhone 6s Plus with iOS 11.4
I got EasyMeasure to measure the height of my mast from about 25’ away. I was really just looking for an angle calculator to help me find the distance. But sadly, EasyMeasure doesn’t work unless there’s a horizon.
I instead tried to measure the dimensions of my sailboat interior instead, only to find that it kept shorting the measurements against known distances. Maybe I’m just using it wrong, but I don’t think I am. I watched the tutorial twice.
In the end, EasyMeasure is unintuitive and is very restricted on what it can do accurately. They got my money, so a loss is a loss. I’m not using it again.
Downloaded it, followed the only instructions on the screen and it didn’t work, not user friendly at all. Instructions at vague. Another app I used after this one had 3 simple instructions when EasyMeasure started up, maybe you should do something similar like a tutorial, most people are not good with technology you have to asume the most basic of users are going to use EasyMeasure and set it up so that even a child can use it. Keep working towards perfection you will get it.
So I thought this would be an interesting app and gave it a try. Unfortunately it asks you to set the lens height. If I knew how high my lens is off the ground I would pretty much have a tape measure in my hand already and know how to measure the thing I’m trying to measure. Isn’t that right? So then when I set the object baseline it told me my 24 inch diameter fan was 7 1/2 feet in diameter. I say that was a little off.
This tool uses trigonometry, with a starting point largely determined by you, to calculate the distance between the ground directly under your phone and the object you are pointing to. This means that you must use the ground to measure your distances and you must be standing and you must be on level ground for it to be accurate. In those conditions this tool works well.
Update: EasyMeasure has its limitations. I purchased the upgrade, but was disappointed by the features offered and the difficulty of use. The camera image is zoomed in compared to what it looks like when taking a regular photo. This means you have to stand very far back if you’re measuring anything long. I watched the videos and did the tutorial, but was never able to get an accurate measurement. I ended up having to use my tape measure. I’m sure it has its value when measuring things inside on level surfaces, but it just didn’t work for what I needed it for unfortunately.
Haven’t used it fully yet, but will update it when I get the hang of it
Although it took a little time to get comfortable with the techniques, I found it very dependable. I was afraid I’d have to get s newer phone that has some capability mine didn’t have, but this has fulfilled my needs until I’m forced to upgrade.
I needed to verify how far from the wall the toilets was so I would be able to buy the correct fixture. It took a little learning session to figure out how to aim the laser. But after directing the laser in the proper direction. The answer was just what I needed for making the purchase of the correct product.
Whether my measurements were accurate or not I'm not sure if I did it correctly but it was easy to use didn't understand it but I like it and it help me when I've been on my boyfriend I didn't tell him if the measurements were right he just didn't think I could do it thank you
With a tape measure, I measured off a distance of 25 ft to a floor cabinet. With a tape measure, I measured the height of my shoulder to the ground and entered that into EasyMeasure as the height. Next I used EasyMeasure and kept my phone at shoulder height and the distance recorded was 26 ft. For me this seemed to be pretty good. Am sure you can figure ways to improve your own precision.
I started using this application while on a trip to Salt Lake City, Utah. I was trying to locate a gravesite to do family history, and had approximate measurements from the curator at the cemetery so I went to a common point, and use this to measure that distance, and it was spot on. I highly recommend this tool for use.
Easy to understand instructional videos on how To use. Works well with apple phone. Measured distance and height and was accurate. Thinking about upgrading already. Easier and functioning better than I imagined.
Yes I was enticed to write a review but when Insaw the request I wanted to give it 5 stars: I wanted to measure the pool I was in: indoor, underground ”, dark and black everywhere.
Measured quickly and easily once I understood the gradient system. Who needs tutorials! It's great.
Didn't need to the added bonus to say this.
I found this this app to be just right for what I need. All I need is approximate measurements and the easy to save a picture to be able to share with others and also include in reports. Great picture quality as well!
So far, I love it!
The tutorial video was helpful, I do wish that they would have let me get a few uses to figure it out before making me purchase EasyMeasure at the lower price. Other than that it seems great so far.
Call me OCD but I've spent a considerable amount of time checking out various measuring apps. There are several that use AR and project cool looking tape measures seemingly suspended above or on the object to be measured. The only thing is THAT THEY DON'T WORK! EasyMeasure uses simple geometry to triangulate distance AND IT WORKS. PS don't build a house with it😁
I’ve been using EasyMeasure for a couple of years now and it keeps getting better (even tho I didn’t think that was possible!) I use it in volunteer work with the Red Cross in measuring locations to figure out how many clients we can shelter, feed, evac etc.... So much easier than using a tape and we have discovered it is REALLY accurate! Everyone wanted to use my phone when we are doing shelter surveys, but now we all have EasyMeasure !
Not sure how good it is but I get a 2$ discount for writing this review despite not getting to use it before buying it. I don’t want to take my chances for leaving 1 star as this all that I know is after downloading I can’t use EasyMeasure without using this review

How does it work? EasyMeasure uses the height of the camera lens (determined automatically by AR if your device supports that) and its tilt angle to calculate the distance to the object.
Simply aim your iPhone/iPad to any object in your surroundings, and EasyMeasure displays the distance towards that object on top of the camera image.
Do not use EasyMeasure for construction or other uses where inaccurate measurements could cause personal injury or property damage.
EasyMeasure® shows the distance to objects seen through the camera lens of your iPhone or iPad.
NOTE: Measurements taken with EasyMeasure are not as accurate as measurements taken with standard tools.
