Escape Room Reviews

I was very excited that I had found another escape game, since I finished all of the other ones multiple times. This one was pretty good, and I liked the setup of hints and optional ads. It mentioned demons so I (also being a Christian) was a little wary but wanted to play it anyway. I was getting a little uncomfortable in chapter 2, but by the end of chapter 3 I powered off my phone completely. This is witchcraft and demonic possession!! This is a serious thing, and not a game!! The benefits of this is that I learned to keep my eyes open and listen to my instincts. I hope this is helpful, and wish nothing but good on everyone.

The premise and buildup were intriguing, and then the conclusion/ending felt sudden and unsatisfying. It felt like there were cool or strange elements inserted just for the sake of looking cool and strange, but didn’t contribute anything to the story.

The game is also really short; I paid for ads to be removed, and I don’t regret supporting the developer per se, but I was left with a little bit of a “was this really worth the money I spent?” feeling.

I don’t really have any issues with the mechanics, I think they’re pretty typical.

I went through to Chapter 3, during it I put together puzzles after the puzzle should have revealed a clue 2/3 puzzles did not. Those missing clues prevented me from moving forward. Some of the items seemed a very odd match to reveal the next clue. A few I got by sheer chance. A little too simple in some spaces and a little too complex/indecipherable.

I liked the option to either watch an ad or give a donation to support the game. That felt win-win!!

The storyline is awful. The design is alright. The hints are semi-crappy. No detail on how to move some things so you can’t figure out a puzzle if you don’t know how to move the pieces. Somethings randomly go together. Others are a little easier to figure out.
Yes the story line is weird. I read a review about demons. So what bring the demons on ahaha. It’s a game. I’ll try the second game I guess
I’ve very bored.

I had to look at most of the tutorials to even understand what to do, I feel like things should be more clear as to help the player understand where they should go next. I love the complexity of it though with adding two sides of the same room to help you navigate. Its great, but adding some more clues to help the player figure out where to look for things would make is a 5/5. Keep working your games are really good!

Most people seem to be rating 5 stars, which is fine, BUT I do have a big pet peeve personally. Sometimes it was difficult for me to know what I was looking for as the images don’t change when there is a change (I know this made no sense, let me explain). When you had to move the stones in Chapter 2, it would glow red when you got that part of the puzzle right, but when you would go back out to the room view, the stones were just regular. There were a few changes in room pictures, but mostly for things you would only go to once and then never visit again, (like the suitcase). Also one thing that was annoying is that for the last one, the place you used the cross, was not actually shown in the room image, even though it should of been visible. Those kind of made it hard for me to get around, but the puzzles were a good difficulty, easier at times, more difficult at other times. Overall, I enjoyed this and I do recommend it if you like these types of games.

Also yes, this is obviously a Rusty Lake “inspired” and honestly a bit more than inspired... butttt you can still enjoy it.

As others have noted, this is a pretty faithful homage to the Rusty Lake game series. The surrealist aesthetic is on point, but one area this game is lacking is in puzzle logic. When I looked up walkthroughs for Rusty Lake, it was for things that I was too lazy to solve. With this, I looked up walkthroughs because I was genuinely confused about the next step. There could be more clues/hints throughout that help give the player an idea of the overall objective.

Also, there are only two chapters, yet the developer begs for money every few minutes. Have fun with that.

This was a game that was all but great. The graphics, music, puzzles, style, depth, everything was wonderful! I paid for it and would again.

There were two things that were shortcomings. The first is minor. For the few puzzles I couldn’t get, the walkthrough usually pointed out where the clues were that I missed. With a couple of puzzles, it wasn’t clear how we would know the solution. Not a big deal.

The big problem is how unsatisfactory the ending is!! (Trying to do this without spoilers) Read the other reviewer’s hints.

But when you get there and make a mistake you have to go all the way back to the beginning to try again! Arrgh! I watched the ending of the walkthrough and it was better but still not satisfying. Maybe there is a third way but I’m not going through the whole game just to get there, especially if I don’t know it will work.

But maybe that bad ending is the point? If so, then I might have given it 3 instead of 4 stars. That’s just mean.

I’m three weeks in and just getting to chapter 3 of the story line. I play passively maybe 3 times per week but spend 30 minutes to an hour playing each time. I have been stumped to the point of having to put it away multiple times!! This is such a fun escape room game, I’ve been playing escape rooms online for years and i am so glad i downloaded this one!

It was absolutely great there was three adds and I played it for a short amount of Time. I wish there was more games like this because it was honestly challenging but not over the top like most games are. It’s gruesome and not just a typical murder mystery game like you wold find, extremely unique and has me begging for more. Very well put together and I cannot say it enough; this is an amazing game and recommend it 10/10

I’ve played hundreds and hundreds (literally) of escape games. This is definitely a standout. It’s not easy enough to be boring but just hard enough to make me walk away for a minute then get drawn right back to it. Love the walkthrough (would prefer in game hints). Lots of fun and can’t wait for more chapters and games. PLEASE JUST TAKE MY MONEY was my reaction when asked to purchase to remove ads and support developers.

Cube escape has been my favorite game series, and this one is a “relative”, and after playing it, there’s nothing but kudos to this game. Not because I’m playing favorites, but the graphics, effect, plots are all there.
I also loved how most of the cube escape series games are FREE! which is definitely worth playing and a plus, especially for all the escape room lovers out there like me.

I really loved it! It took me longer than it should have, because I am someone who misses things very easily. When the first ad break popped up after finishing one of the first puzzles, I panicked a bit because at first glance(for me), it was asking to pay to get the rest of the story. I did love the options though, either watch an ad, or pay $1-2, and I can’t remember the prices for the other two options. Overall, was very fun, though the logic was a bit iffy in places.

This is honestly one of the better animated games I’ve played
Yes it’s kind of a copy cat of Rusty Lake but there’s lots of games that do that. Doesn’t make the game any less exciting. Its challenging. I had to look up answers twice, but honestly what’s the fun in it if you don’t get stumped. Anyways just play it. What’s the worst that could happen? You play for 10 minutes and you dont like it, then delete EscapeRoom . Give it a try though

It’s always nice to see a good game from a new developer! This one has some elements that are similar to Rusty Lake and Forgotten Hill, which is good with me as I love both of those. I found some of the puzzles to be pretty challenging and needed help on one of them. There’s an in-game link to a walkthrough which came in handy. Great work, dev! I’ll be looking forward to more from you!

The thing I really love about this game is that they don’t use cheap tricks to hide the clues or puzzles, like everything is very visible but still retains that challenge that really makes a puzzle worth it. I absolutely love the variety of puzzle types and I can’t wait to see what the dev comes out with next because this really is one of my favorite escape games

I love this game soooooo much!!! There is a certain amount of chapters on here and then this developer asks for donations if you would like to play more in the future when more is made. PLEASE donate as much as you can afford! I honestly would pay more if I thought there could be more content sooner! Truly one of my favorites! If you like the Rusty Lake games and/or any Amanita Design games, this one is awesome!!

I mean, it’s cube escape without actually being cube escape. The puzzles, graphics, music, all very similar and the level of difficulty is on par as well - except for a little twist.

So I’ve got nothing bad to say at all. That said, one small drawback: be sure you disable your inventory item when tapping around to investigate room elements, because some may not react at all while the item in your inventory is selected. And some of the items were really small.

But great game!!!

This is a great game. Challenging but not boring. :) and to the people who have never even played this game but claim it’s copied from rusty lake, get something better to do. There were games like rusty lake before rusty lake and even if there weren’t, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with taking inspiration from something. He didn’t copy anything. :)

I’m not going to lie, but this is one of the best escape rooms I have ever played. I haven’t wrote a review about other games, but this one I definitely had too. The quality is perfect and just little ads interrupt the game but only like 2 or 3 which is pretty good. Please make more of these games.
