Elf Cam - Santa's elf tracker Reviews

ElfCam itself is a neat idea. The first time we used it it wasn’t clear until the video was already made that there was a fee. The fee is small however. The second time we used it after having purchased it, all the original filters that were there before buying, are no longer available with the subscription price. That is not disclosed anywhere readily available prior to purchase. It is a shame the creators attempt to force you into paying an additional fee or sharing with friends in order to get features that overly appeared to be included. Misleading but cute nonetheless.

We have an Elf on the shelf that have a certain look the we would like to match it. Our daughter thought it didn’t look like the one that “comes” to our house. She suspected that because the straps the one from ElfCam has. So it would be nice to have more options for his clothes, specially one without the straps. Also when you chose dark hair, the skin color gets darker so it would be nice if skin color was a separate option from hair color.

I think it’s such a great app. I just wish the elves looked a little more similar to the actual ones but it’s great for my 3 year old. It’s so fun to watch her face when I show her the video in the mornings.

Just a heads up - very cute AR app that is fun to use and share with family. I was not surprised when you make your first clip to save it you have to pay $1.99 for access. Totally get it and support it, paid the fee. But when you go back into ElfCam after paying most of the animations and filters are locked and you have to pay more to gain access to the features that were available when you first use it. A little bait in switch as I thought the $1.99 gave access to the entire app. Just wanted to share.

Cute ideas but gives little to work with. Has a hard time scanning the area. Asks for a level surface, but honestly, who has many decorated areas in their home that are going to be level? Then it doesn’t really follow the “path” and “directions” you give it. I gave a path to run one direction and wave at the camera and it runs the other and waves with its back to the camera. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Frustrating to say the least because now my daughter is expecting to see it daily and it’s hard to create new videos. Endless possibilities, but needs more work for sure.

Have been using ElfCam all month, it’s great. My kids love it but it’s very frustrating how I bought all the additional motions and effect but once I use ElfCam the next day, it wishes to charge me again. Already contacted ElfCam and they just told me to click on “restore purchases” and it still does nothing. I’ve had to skip some video days because I don’t plan on paying 1.99$ every time I use it even though it stated it was for a YEAR

Let’s you make a whole video that takes forever and then wants to charge you. The elf looks nothing like elf on the shelf. I thought this was going to be a good way to keep my kids believing but even if I paid for it they would know right away it was fake. I could maybe get away with it with my 3 year old but it’s not even worth paying for. Great concept and it’s super cute but i needs some work. If you have super little kids then this is for you.

Great idea, cute as well but, it doesn’t match elf on the shelf and after downloading I had major issues with my camera saving the pics I took. It wouldn’t save them anywhere. Also started having a lot of issues with the camera/video. Never had an issue until after downloading ElfCam . Uninstalled it after making only 1 elf video. Feels like $ down the drain.

This is such a great app. I did a recording in Black and White. The next morning told my kids I caught our elf on the nest camera. And they LOVED IT!!! They keep on watching it and then go and talk to the elf. Love this so much! Thank you for creating this. Can’t wait to do more recordings!!

Love ElfCam! So creative. Only thing is I wish they would create an elf option that looks like elf on the shelf. The elf we have does not have black straps on him but the elf cam does. So I just tell my kids it’s his pajamas lol. Other than that I love it!

Love that there are many options to make the elf look real. My son enjoys watching videos of him that I make throughout the day. Especially when he’s in school. He wonders what his elf is up to!

To start: The elf’s outfit or hair color isn’t identical.
Second: the instructions are VERY VAGUE. And if you mess up, you have to delete ElfCam and try again.
But Third! You have to PAY to get the final result, unless you were screen recordings the whole time.
Waste of time because I’m NOT paying for that, and it was difficult enough to figure out

Not sure why all the negative reviews I have never had a problem at all and this has made the magic of the elf even more magical!

My 4 year old grandson said the elf wasn’t real then I found ElfCam and he’s now a true believer every morning he’s up and looking for buddy then watches the video. Thank you!! ❤️💜💙💛🧡💚

Paid for the full version. Have gotten it to work maybe twice. Has a very hard time moving out of step 1, scanning the room. The couple times I did get it to plot the elf’s movements, I could only get it to move/skip about 10 movements (ie. “Snowballs”). Was the 1 video I managed to get out of it cute? Mmmm, yes. Was it worth the 2$ I paid? Absolutely not.

I really love ElfCam, I was thinking it would be great to show kids how u may have caught the elf moving around, and you guys did a great job, but but need to handle low lighting and also on wall shelves better, so it looks like he being spied in, but again great App

Truly makes the magic that Christmas has even more special to my 4 year old. Thank you for spreading so much joy and “miracle magic” in his little eyes.

I have to “restore purchases” every time I open ElfCam . It doesn’t charge me, but I wish it would just keep the original purchases I’ve made.

Is it really just me?! How can you make ElfCam, charge money for it and keep the “elf cam” logo in the watermark of saved footage? How will I explain my kids playing CCV filtered footage what is that watermark? Not only that, first thing my 7 years old will do is to go on App Store and check “elf cam”
You are not helping, you charging money for something useless.

So far I love just about everything about it. I wish there was a way to add costumes or takeoff the suspenders. Maybe there is and I just haven’t figured it out yet

After plotting the elf’s route, get ready because once you hit record it tends to do what it wants. I’ve tried to start off crawling for example, but then it’ll jump up and run. By the time you find the next animation its too late. Would be nice if you could pre select the animations the elf will engage in at each plot point so when you hit record all you have to do is follow the elf. A bit frustrating but the concept is there.

ElfCam doesn’t do anything it’s advertised

Quite possibly the most difficult app I’ve ever used. Only time I can get it to focus is if it’s on what I don’t want to record

It make my 6 years old totally believe that Elf walking around the house when and start to behave better...lol.
