The Lyrics App Reviews

This is a really simple app where you can gather your written words and audio ideas together in the same place.

Though it is very basic, what it needs is an intro tutorial to show you how to use the basic features, as well as a very easy-to-find way of leaving a review.

By default the “Return Key Mode” is set to ON. This would not be my default mode, and I found it rather perplexing why someone would even want that feature. A person would need to intuitively think, “I wonder if there’s a way to change this?” Then they have to go looking for it. It would be much better to have some simple instructions first - I mean, there’s not that many features, so it wouldn’t be that involved.

There should also be a link within TheLyricsApp to rate and review TheLyricsApp . I had to go back to TheLyricsApp Store and search for TheLyricsApp again.

This is really awesome but could we please be able to

1. Add album art. It would even be cool if we could basically replace files with albums. But even if you keep it as files that’s cool if we can add an album image.

2. The sorting. There’s a couple sorting options but I really need full custom sorting. If I need to move a song to it’s correct position I have to basically delete all entries for the file and start over. Please let us just (example swap song 4 with song 2) within the file.

Other than that I’m using TheLyricsApp instead of onenote from now on thank you for an awesome app! As someone who has been writing lyrics since about 2007 as a child I do love TheLyricsApp. The way you implement the voice recording with the song file is so clean i love it.

I love TheLyricsApp and I would give it five stars, but the only thing that’s holding me back is that you can’t delete empty lines. Sometimes I decide I don’t want a line completely and it messes the format of the page up a little. Other than that though I have to say again TheLyricsApp has been suuuuuper helpful in the songwriting process. Just recording a guitar idea over a lyric to remember for later is insanely useful and I wouldnt ever use a lyric app other than this one ! :))

You ever write a line and forgot how it went rhythmically? Not anymore! You can voice record each line individually.
Struggling for the next rhythm for the next line. Boom! Rhyming dictionary with a simple double tap.
I have four other writing apps (not including notes app) and I never touch them. TheLyricsApp alone with that record feature has turned all of those into wasted money I just keep them for the old works on them. I’ve had it about a year now, so this ain’t some “new app hype”. I got one of those pop up feedback things in TheLyricsApp and felt I owed it the developer and world at large to speak for this apps greatness!

I requested that lyrics and recordings be available in my iCloud to facilitate collaboration. He added this feature quickly and it works very well.

I’ve added all my songs in TheLyricsApp. It’s the only thing I write with now. So much better than paper. You can arrange lines, edit and add actual audio to each line if you like. It’s amazing !!!

Super easy to navigate right from the start. I was finally able to drain all my song ideas quickly and effectively!

I love TheLyricsApp a lot but I do wish the colors that I can choose from can change the background color so it won’t just be black or white. I would like the background to be different colors

I love it so much probably one of the best apps I’ve ever had.

I have one question though if we ever get an update, will it delete our progress or will it keep it something I’m kind of worried about because I have a lot of songs and so much progress and it would be a shame to lose it all…

I’m loving it so far and I just got TheLyricsApp today. But, I don’t like a few things. Here’s why I put a 5.96 star rating: 1. You have to pay for 2 or more things 2. The recordings don’t play in order 3. It keep crashing on me Anyways, yes. I hope y’all can fix these issues. Thanks and Happy Thanksgiving!!

This is just the best for writing lyrics and being able to record each part that you need to remember. The built in rhyme and thesaurus are also really awesome. I use the lyrics app to write all of my lyrics. I love that we can change the color scheme too. Thank you so much to the developer of TheLyricsApp, it really feels like a lot of thought was put into it. <3

I would happily pay a few extra bucks for a built in rhyme generator you can turn on and off like in the Rhymers Block app— this is way more simple, convenient and straightforward. (And nothing about it pushes rap, hip hop or some music genre on you) Especially the ability to switch lines around, so great! I love the green and black color scheme, it fits my Goat Surgeon brand colors for writing death metal! This is my go to for lyrics writing! EDIT: I made the suggestion and the developer heard me and implemented it. I’m excited to see how the rhyme generation turns out! I think it’s awesome they heard me and acted on it! That’s great

Probably the most useful app I’ve ever used. I’ve already told so many people about it!

I’d love it if it had a record and play button for the entire song as well as the sections. That way I could record the whole song right in TheLyricsApp . Having a section to add credits (writers) of said song would be awesome too! Seriously though, fantastic app! 10/10!

Hello! I love using TheLyricsApp and it’s been more helpful than you can imagine. Recently it’s been locking my phone screen when I open it and I don’t know what the problem is. I don’t want to delete TheLyricsApp and lose all my projects so if you can have free accounts that will save projects even with deleting TheLyricsApp that would be so helpful and appreciated. I am going to keep trying and definitely not delete it and I love TheLyricsApp and how easy and accessible it is, thank you so much.

I love TheLyricsApp but I would like it to be a little less annoying sometimes. Like when I was writing a song and pressed the “Return” button, it took me to the next page, witch is annoying because I believe you should just have a button that lets you go to the next line or just click on the line! Thank you for making TheLyricsApp. My songs are getting better and better each day bc of TheLyricsApp. 😊 Also it’s an amazing app, I use it daily

This is suuuper helpful, although: I would like a option to be able to add a picture to each song you write and store on there. Same goes for the folders. Another thing would be able to store side notes for each song!! Those might be kinda complicated for a lyrics app, but they’re just some suggestions I would personally find helpful to have. Anywho, I see no fault with TheLyricsApp. Luv itttt! (Btw, sorry if those features already exist, I’m a new user of TheLyricsApp )

Being able to record your melody beside your lyrics is genius. Paying. For the rhyme and thesaurus just a couple bucks is fine and is so much better than a subscription model.
Wondering if there is a way to export the audio you recorded for reference ? Also wondering if we can get a dictionary in there. I do think charging for bigger buttons is a little ridiculous, but otherwise TheLyricsApp is a huge win for songwriters and it’s better by far than any I e seen!

TheLyricsApp is so great in that it’s simple to use, with great functionality and readability! Even great how the pay wall doesn’t totally take away from TheLyricsApp , just provide some quality of life stuff like a thesaurus, something you could probably just pull up on google. I think TheLyricsApp could greatly benefit if people could link up with others and share their song lyrics, it would make collaboration so much easier. Overall, really convenient app, much better than anything else I’ve seen for songwriting. Thank you so much!

TheLyricsApp is great. Its very simple. I love that you can easily save your ideas. One thing that would be cool to add is a button to play your lyric audio recordings in a sequence so you can hear how the melody works.
