I’m really glad I got TheWallpaperApp when it went free, would’ve been a very quick refund if I had paid. TheWallpaperApp currently doesn’t work, wallpapers won’t load, just sits on a blank screen with their logo.

Pros:
- simplicity of tapping and swiping to see different versions or different designs
- results more often than not look pretty good
- pre-determined palettes are a good idea
- blur slider is a nice option

Cons:
- WAY too many color palettes, dumped in an unorganized list
- inability to add or remove color palettes (as if anyone could filter through the millions)
- inability to choose individual colors
- inability to use fewer than four colors (TheWallpaperApp seems to add one back semi-randomly if you remove one)
- inability to choose a specific variation of style, random only
- inability to choose colors for specific layers/assert, random only
- linear navigation with no looping

If I could summarize my disappointment it’s that I was expecting a more robust wallpaper creation tool whereas TheWallpaperApp feels something closer to a wallpaper aggregator that allows randomizing of the colors.

Very limited User Interface, limited selection to wallpapers. and TheWallpaperApp is just very 2009ish era. In otherwords, just download telegram and subscribe to a wallpaper group, or just go on gumroad. TheWallpaperApp needs MAJOR improvements and is not justified for the price tag. Wouldnt even pay a dollar for this rubbish.
TLDR: Not Worth it, Use Telegram, or Gumroad for wallpapers. Spend your hard earned money on something thats actually promising.

I can't figure out how TheWallpaperApp works on macOS. (Maybe it's a Catalyst app that works fine on touch-devices - but all it shows me is a series of wallpaper images, with no controls to change/edit/save anything.) The wallpapers look great, but I can't figure out how TheWallpaperApp itself works. I've tried clicking, dragging, typing, checking the menu-bar options... it's inscrutable!

Love the idea, app is very useful for its purposes. The only bug I've noticed is that customized palettes don't to save correctly, interface is intuitive but needs a little more clarity.

Beyond those suggestions is just adding some more templates/backgrounds and you'll have built a 5 star application, great work.

The customization options are great, and the current wallpaper selection is a decent start. That said, the options do feel a bit limited. I would like to see more designs, and look toward to seeing what additions will come in future updates.

Though not perfect, I don’t feel like I wasted my money.

I used to love TheWallpaperApp. But i just found out today that they are going free! Yay! Except that they were already free. I got TheWallpaperApp when it was 0 dollars before this premium update. I don't understand if you'e trying to trick users. Whatever it is, it is sad. Another Great developer turned, money hungry.

My biggest complaint is that I cannot create my own color pallet. Aside from that the controls are janky and often don’t work as expected. The swipe controls are difficult to get used to and they are far from intuitive. Even though there’s a short tutorial on the controls, I struggled with using TheWallpaperApp for the first few times I used it. And it isn’t made clear that you can save high-res still images at any point of the tutorial. Also the Live Photo button on the top left looks like it’s a toggle to stop the image from being saved as a Live Photo, and it most certainly is not. I’m glad TheWallpaperApp exists, but it needs improvement. But please, above all else, just let us at least choose our own color pallets.

Amazing concept and execution in terms of customization, but the base images are a little to plain, boring and just not very diverse in terms of color palette. They just seem like 3D rendered images that are altered through TheWallpaperApp ’s program. I’d love to see more images that are up to date in terms of iOS design and other OS design.

I just got TheWallpaperApp and no offense five bucks is a lot, but I don’t know how to put it to my wall paper I’ve tried and they don’t move. I also have no idea how to make my own color palette like it says in the pictures. Please respond to me with instructions. Thank you so much.

High quality wallpapers, but not many to my personal tastes. Hopefully updates bring more styles.

After testing and evaluating several highly-rated wallpaper apps, I’m awarding The Wallpaper App “Best Wallpaper App”. It’s fantastic! The generative algorithms used to create unique yet customizable wallpapers over and over again is great. It is so easy to produce a wide variety of subtle, non-distracting backgrounds for your home and lock screen—without scrolling through all sorts of garbage images (that should never be used as wallpapers) that are present in so many other wallpaper apps! My only suggestion would be an option to always add a subtle black gradient to the top of each image to help hide the notch (when exporting for “this device”), or a black OR white gradient at the top to make the menu bar more readable in Big Sur (when exporting desktop-class images, which, yes, TheWallpaperApp also lets you do!)

Love TheWallpaperApp! Finally nice to have a wallpaper app that has some original wallpapers that you can even customize the way you want them!

Never seen anything like this that allows you to twitch style and colors! Please add more designs soon!!

Beautiful app which creates random-patterned and colored backgrounds and wallpapers just by tapping. Love the 3D look of many of them--they really "pop" in HD! You can have detailed patterns or simple background gradients--whatever you choose. Highly recommend it!

If you want wallpapers with designs that don't distract from what's on your screen but still look awesome, this is it.

A very handy app to mix things up. I like simple dark backgrounds, and TheWallpaperApp is perfect for generating those. Lots to choose from and everything can be adjusted.

I like it! It has a lot of the designs that you can’t find on other apps. Coming from someone who loves patterns and such. This is a winner!

But this wallpaper app was so handy and suited me so well I had to come out to TheWallpaperApp Store and buy it. Well done! Sometimes I just want a wallpaper. I don’t want to wade through choices and spyware just to have different colors blaring at my face for days on end. This is the wallpaper app I never knew I needed. The amount of wallpapers I’m getting for only $2 is insane. I would’ve happily given $5 or so for this.

So after submitting my first review I see that I no longer get the “share on social”? Pop up anymore this is now a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️app.
