Woody Cross: Word Connect Game Reviews

My personal preference is to have a game that can be used in the rotation that allows a wider picture of the game I am playing. It makes it easier to see and to prop up to allow my iPad case to hold it in place. I hate a screen that cannot rotate. Too bad, because it spoils my enjoyment for this game. I know I will not choose a game that does not have this ability ever again.

This game is mildly entertaining and sometimes makes you think. The problem is that the same puzzles repeat pretty quickly, and a worse problem is that the game allows the developers to use slang and sounds which people use that aren’t actually words, such as “ooh” and “coco”. I’ve heard of Coco Chanel, but if we are using proper names and foreign languages the answer could be anything. They frequently use blah, yep, yup, and other sounds. Why not teach those who don’t spell well to spell properly? They also use prefixes and suffixes to stand for words. It seems they choose words that don’t make good puzzles just as “filler”.

Maybe these are words included in some dictionary but when I went to school they would never have been accepted. I’m not a snob, but I just think it could have been much better.

I played for several months and enjoyed good selection of words even though some I hadn't seen before, but appreciated the built in dictionary to look them up; ads were infrequent and manageble; the nature pictures were beautiful colors; and the Daily Puzzle was fun until it stopped working sometime after level 2450. Also, some levels before that, the game would skip the last of the 4 "earned" pictures with the 1000 points! That was very disappointing, especially when I was looking forward to seeing the beautiful tiger picture.

I like this because it quick to respond. Not too many ads to interrupt the game. I don’T purchase games because I have found they run out of puzzles. If I find this is not the case with this game I would consider purchasing it.

I’m on level 162 and was really liking WoodyCross and I even spent money. The last two games have not been fun can’t connect letters they will disappear and won’t let me make words if i just keep at it it may let me make a word I thought might be the one I was on went to the next game same thing no fun at all couldn’t even finish. Thinking I’ve spent at least twenty dollars but I’m done. There are many more like this plan on trying another one but learned my lesson to not spend money.

I have been playing this game for a while now. I love it! Is is a challenge but yet doable. Thanks so much for a great program. The only thing I have not been able to figure out was how to link my iPad and iPhone.

This is the best word game I’ve played so far. I’ve played others that wanted you to guess words that were no longer used after the 16th century so you would use up your resources trying to figure out the word or pay for more resources. So far, I’ve stumbled onto a couple of words not used in everyday lingo. All in all I’m happy.

I love the game but have problems with it freezing up and having to repeat playing games multiple times (sometime up to 6 times). I never get any response when I reach out for help. I get so frustrated that I just delete the game. I wish I could find out what the problem is and have the CS department respond. I would love to rate it a 5 at some

Omg this game helps me focus on school and when I’m stressed I like to play this game! I have no problem with this game but the only thing is that I get too destracted and the game causes me not to pay attention to my surroundings. Other then that this game is awesome and I recommend this game for anyone who needs help focusing!

Hey I’m just already starting to really love this game and so I might be just playing it more often cause I also see that it’s not even too hard or bad for me so thanks for having this kinda game.

= Work 1 round of a puzzle. Tap on every window for 3-5 minutes or put it down for 10 minutes BECAUSE YOU'VE SEEN THIS AD 50 TIMES AND IT WON’T LET YOU JUST TAP OUT OF IT!
If I need to do all of this for a single short game that I can’t even finish/win without buying a booster, I’m better off with a deck of cards! Real cards aren’t programmed to tease me with an impossible to win game. It doesn’t force me to watch ad after ad. MosT of all… it never makes me pay to win!

A fun and challenging game, however, I am often disappointed and infuriated with the number of valid words that can be assembled with the given letters, but aren’t included in the puzzle. Also, the commercials are intrusive, incessant, and annoying. Otherwise, a well worth download!

I have been playing this game for awhile. I liked it so much that i paid a fee to disable the commercials. I am on level 2108 now and the game has quit operating properly. I got stuck on a word, so i bought a letter by watching commercials. However, the letter is not one that is supposed to be in the word. I have been unable to contact app support determine the fix or get support.

I enjoy the game and my granddaughter likes to play it too, but where out IQ. All these game say what’s your IQ but they don’t give it to you. I know it’s not a real IQ test but I thought you would get more of an indication besides “Brilliant, awesome, etc.”

Love this game but it has stopped working since WoodyCross updated. Keeps freezing. I have restarted my phone and such as suggested in previous posts and still nothing.

The advert for this in my other game had it in the display sideways. However, playing it directly I find there is no way to rotate it. I will be deleting it even though it is a good game as my iPad has a keyboard so it is not convenient to turn it. Besides, that is where the power plug is so it is doubly inconvenient.

This has been the best word game I have experienced. Not too hard but makes you think. I use this as a means of relaxation and it really helps. Can’t stop playing.

I am truly enjoying this game. I notice looking forward to the next set! You know, hard no longer gets it! Engaging does!

The amount of ads is OBSCENE. Open the game? Ad. Finished a round? Ad. Switch to a different app for one second? Ad. Oh- and there isn’t just one ad- there’s multiple and there is a tiiiny tiny little ‘x’ that you have to press to get out of the ad. I have small fingers and even I have a hard time pressing it. I just got this game less than 24 hours ago and I’m already deleting it.

I love the game so much! My brain is some much better than it was!!! The music is so relaxing and the words challenge my 🧠!! So if you need to test your brain, this is the game for you!

I was on my last word which was three letters, I only had to put one missing letter in, I knew the word and tried several times to add it but it never allowed it until I used my last clue and bam it was the letter, I just downloaded WoodyCross but if it’s messing up already I can do without the stress and the ads ads ads….

Nice challenge and goes quickly from game to game, like the challenge! Really enjoy this game, daily challenge a bit harder but still great!
