FOX 13 Seattle Weather App Reviews

Version 5.0.602 introduced weather sensitive backgrounds and white text on white fluffy clouds are difficult to read. I really dislike trying to scroll content to a place where I’m able to read text that I’m interested in. This may be “clever” but it is poor UI design. I wish that I had the old version back.

The update is way to busy and the white font makes it hard to read. The update is terrible

The white text is impossible to read on the partly cloudy backgrounds and you can’t change the settings. This is a classic ‘take it our way, settings are not to be changed by the unwashed masses’... Reminds me of the first apps in the 90’s! Sorry Fox, you screwed this one up. Hope the news app is better, but my expectations aren’t high. I’ll go back to Weatherbug!

Update May 2020 wiped out ALL my saved locations. Not acceptable.

Screens are way too busy now, background too busy, and yes, it wiped out my saved locations. Sorry I updated.

Look, this is a free app. It’s an ok app. It would be a much better app if you turned off the alerts on the radar map and make it that the user has to turn them on. They make the map useless.

Map is basically useless with alerts on. So I have to every time go to alerts and turn them off so I can see the radar clearly. They turn themselves back on when you close app. User should be able to chose what alerts they want, not have them all on as the default.

I would rate this much higher if this issue was addressed

Gives me random heavy snow warnings when it not even remotely close to snow temps, it’s also May

When I turn all the alerts off I want them to STAY off, not turn themselves all back on when I close and reopen! VERY annoying!!!

At first glance this looks slick and fresh. Functionally it’s bad. Hard to read data in a white font that are superimposed over a field containing white puffy clouds. Adjusting settings is perhaps easier than the old app. Just loose the clouds behind data!

A previous version of FOX13SeattleWeatherApp that was all black is much easier to see. The white lettering on a light blue or cloudy background is almost impossible to see sometimes. Thanks for fixing!

This weather app has the best radar I’ve used! I love the alerts that follow me wherever I go.

Simple to use alternative to the Weather Channel app that has become VERY busy and expensive for what you get.
