🏷️ About: In both the receiving and sending modes, the app starts with the easiest letters (E and T) and moves to more complicated ones. Once you master all the letters, it teaches you numbers and other symbols, and then proceeds to Prosigns, Q-codes, abbreviations, words, Callsigns, phrases and sentences.

Could be better.

MorseMania makes me want to smash my iPad with a hammer. The keys on the keyboard are too small. I know there’s not much that can be done to fix this on the iPhone but a lot could be done to improve the iPad version. The iPad version when in landscape mode would benefit from bigger keys. Don’t know how many times I’ve know a word and got it wrong because I’ve hit the wrong key. Also when you make a mistake it would be nice if there were a slight pause before it starts over. If the developer could fix these two issues I’ll give it 5 stars.

Not the most responsive

MorseMania is the best for learning, it’s really great. But if you are learning to send and have it set to paddle mode, the dah button often doesn’t respond when pressed and it fails you over and over. Certain letters like L and P where you need quick switches between dit and dah then back again do not work well. Very frustrating. Makes the short phrase section unbearable. You can have the knowledge, but MorseMania will not work

Very good trainer, has one glaring flaw

I love MorseMania, it’s very well thought out, it’s vastly better than some of the others out there.

However the keyboard is not laid out correctly, the keys are too far apart and the buttons are way too small. I practice on the iPad in the mornings and it’s too easy to miss a key, which gets frustrating at 20wpm. But even on my iPhone they are weirdly placed and not very practical, a more compact layout with larger buttons would make this perfect.

Good app, needs improvements

Custom setting doesn’t remember what you chose last time, so it’s extremely painful to use that feature. I’d consider it broken. And you can’t use challenges to learn all the letters, because the sound button is disabled, but if you don’t do challenges then all the letters aren’t used equally frequently. Overall a great app, but huge shortcoming with these two problems.

Great app, but challenging for big fingers

MorseMania is awesome for learning, full version allows you to change settings as you progress. Only complaint is that in receive mode, you have to press exactly in the middle of each letter you hear or else it will fail you. Many times I have heard the word correctly, but got dinged when I didn’t hit a letter spot on. Seems like there could be a little grace built into the keyboard in MorseMania to account for this. Turning iPhone into landscape mode helps a bit.

The best app I’ve tried but…

I love MorseMania it’s great but I have trouble hearing sometimes so if there was a setting to visualize the dots and dashes that would be great. This is the best app I’ve tried and I still love it and I know I’m being picky but that would really help me learn. Once again this is the best app I’ve tried and I’ve gone through about 4 other apps. Everything else is great and I haven’t seen any bugs or glitches so that’s really nice. I would
Recommend.

Great for learning how to copy, not send

For learning how to copy I don't think you can beat it, but when it comes to sending (I bought the full version) I wish I could use my Bluetooth keyboard spacebar as a “key”. Trying to send with the touch screed is annoying and slow. Still worth the money for the rest of it though, i can use my oscillator to practice sending I guess, just don’t get the feedback if i missed something doing it that way.

Great app, no ads

Really good at teaching you how to receive. I really like how there are no ads, but still premium. 11/10 decision by the dev and highly considering getting premium to learn how to send. Super great UI, sending can be a little inconsistent sometimes, but that might just be me as a beginner. Overall, amazing app

Amazing app, light suggestion

Amazing app that’s gonna help me and already has helped me.

The only suggestion is instead of a sound, maybe an option for a light? There are times where I want to practice but I’m in a public place and don’t want to bug people.

Edit: didn’t realize it was behind a paywall. It might be one of the only things that I actually buy.

Great way to learn with Mnemonics

If you’ve looked into learning Morse/CW with Mnemonics this is MorseMania for you. Once you get a mnemonic for each letter you are able to blow through this quickly. In two days I was able to get to level 15 and I’ve never done this before. It’s almost like a video game and I learn very quickly this way.

It’s crazy how simple it is.

I’ve used other language learning apps before and thought this would be similar. It’s actually easier by far! Just one level a day for a few minutes and the game makes it fun for you to remember as you keep going. Definitely give it a try.

Exactly what I wanted!

MorseMania plays the dits and dahs and waits for you to identify which character was signified before moving on. MorseMania ’s levels introduce two new characters at a time starting with the easiest to learn. You can replay each level as many times as you want to be certain you know the codes. This is a great way to learn.

Best Morse App Ever

I have tried a few apps for learning Morse. This one is by far the best. Whether it’s learning to hear or send, MorseMania provides excellent opportunities to practice and learn at your own pace. For me, it is well worth the price to upgrade to the paid version. And the options available let me choose how I want to learn. I really appreciate the flexibility. Moreover, even with all of the features working extremely well, MorseMania isn’t gathering dust like a lot of the other Morse apps are. The developer is still improving it and is responsive to questions or suggestions. Definitely a five star app that makes learning Morse fun - in a really effective way.

Great app

Trying to learn CW, as others reading the reviews. This is a fantastic app. It groups the letters in a logical learning order and goes through the learning steps in an easy manner. Although the pro version is not needed, I’ll buy it, simply because the developer did such a great job with the free version, I’m happy to support his contribution to my ham radio journey.

Keep going!!

Found the lack of instructions super confusing at first, but once I played around with the first level enough to understand it it became the MOST helpful learning app I’ve ever had! I love having the ability to go back and redo a level whenever I want more practice, and I feel like I’m getting the hang of new letters VERY quickly! Excellent work here. And free too!! Only pay if you want to customize your practice sets, and even that is only $3 for lifetime access. LOVE IT.

Worth premium

Excellent app for learning from scratch. Starts you with the easiest and most common letters and builds from there until you have the whole keyboard unlocked. So simple and rewarding that I find premium to be well worth the price of a wendy’s burger. it lets you change the speed and color theme and jump around between levels.

Truly is the best

I’ve tested virtually every morse learning app available and none of them come close to this one. MorseMania is by far the best. I rarely purchase apps, but I think this one would be well worth the investment. I also rarely review apps, but was so impressed by this one compared to all the others, that I felt had to spread the word.
To the developer, thanks for creating such a useful & user-friendly & well-designed app! You’re very talented.

I can’t stress this enough, BEST app ever.

I first started using this on my break at work, earlier today. When I got home I nearly knew half the alphabet already! I was tapping on my steering wheel trying to make different words and everything, the way the creator(s) give 2 similar letters at a time and provide a near infinite amount of settings to play around with amazes me.

You guys have outdone yourselves, this is my first time leaving a review on MorseMania store.😂

Really helps!

Go ahead- learn a new language!
this app is your guide. Try for free until you use all the free features, and you will gladly pay to unlock the PRO features… it is very controllable to meet your requirements, specifically different areas of learning you encounter.
There is so much here, and that makes it a great reference as well.
Learning something new takes practice…this app makes practice easy—- JUST ADD TIME!
I believe it’s on CWOPs reference page, so there is another complement. 73.

Great App

Love MorseMania! Super easy to understand, learn, and practice as much as you want WITHOUT ADS! The lifetime purchase is totally worth it. Love supporting apps like this

Only suggestions I have would be is adding something to practice actually tapping out already written sentences and custom sentences to see typing accuracy
