This app is good for a few reasons: it’s good at breaking down a lot of historical information into very bite size pieces so most people can get into and read bits of it whenever: on the toilet, on a walk, the elevator ride, etc. for more casual history intake, this is amazing! I also like how it has map pins so it can help you visualize “the world” an event took place in which can help immerse the reader. As someone who is studying history and loves it dearly, I just want more. I want more information, I want it to go more in depth. Where are the sources so I can read more? There’s much fewer videos than I was expecting. I do hope this app adds more in terms of historical content especially if i have to pay $5 for it. This app just seems somewhat dated. I am writing this in 2023 where all of the content on this app I could technically google for free and get more information. This app would’ve been great 10-20 years ago but just feels somewhat lacking by todays standards. Finally (and what made it 2 stars instead of three,) there are some usability issues. Some of the text goes off the screen and I am unable to scroll down further to read it. There’s no way to rotate the app or sharing the text to make it smaller or anything like that. For an app that costs money, these things at least NEED to be addressed. I’d love to give it more stars if and when they add more content AND their sources as well as iron out the usability issues. It’s a good app for casual history fans though (or to give fanaticism a starting point.)
