4.5 out of 5
Seriously messed up game!!

I played this game for well over a year. Loved it and played it every single day. But then all of a sudden I couldn’t login to G5 anymore. I checked with them and they said that their “lost connection with G5” issue wouldn’t take all that long to fix and several people were having that same problem. But here it is one year later and I still can’t login. I’ve tried changing my password a ton of times and that does nothing either.

And it’s fine to say that you can play the game offline, but you do so at your own risk. Because what I have found out is that it doesn’t actually save what you have done offline. I was all the way up to level 82 and then when I went to check my online status and account and it wouldn’t let me login, it dropped me back down to level 71. Which is where I have stayed. I have advanced several times to many higher levels. But every single time I would start the game again after stopping, it starts me back over at the exact same spot on level 71.

So other players be wary playing any games G5 has created. I’ve completely stopped all of them. It’s not worth the stress, especially since they are supposed to be for fun.

Ok game, but racist

Although I enjoy the game and find the various graphics wonderful, when I get to “Journey to the West” first chapter, one of the items to be found was a modern looking mask, with silk fabric and sewn in straps. The storyline is that there is a volcano so they’re seeking a mask. Dude. Please. In ancient times masks don’t look like that. People wrapped their faces with clothes like in all sandy desert areas. This mask is shaped as a modern pandemic mask - and to use it only in the Chinese book chapter - it’s utterly racist. This continued association of anything pandemic to the Chinese culture is racist. By drawing a pandemic mask in association to Chinese culture, the makers of this game is implanting or reinforcing many people’s subconscious association of the pandemic blame to China - thus all Asians. It’s a very ignorant thing to do as all humans have our losses and griefs from the pandemic. You think those Chinese people who had to deal with the early days of massive death and being in the dark about how to treat COVID-19 - you think they wanted the pandemic? Being a doctor of Asian origin who worked through the pandemic, this is offensive - the ignorance, discrimination, and lack of compassion is astounding. It’s hurtful to anyone with Asian background. Seeing this in a game literally hurts.

Sherlock Holmes

I really like the game, I like doing the investigation part and also the match 3 section both keep me interested it really helps improve my intuitive and observation skills. The game is enjoyable I hope you keep making more Sherlock Holmes games and more investigation games like this. Thank you, Ken In the Sherlock Holmes game why do you have us watch the videos to get free gems(rewards) and after we watch and then press the x up in the right hand corner to exit no reward is granted. This is something you better lock in to, it’s really annoying and frustrating. Thank you, Ken Also when you’re investigating a scene and you make a wrong pick you take 5 seconds off the investigating time that’s not fair you cause the player to make rush decisions. In a real life investigation that wouldn’t happen. I’ve talked to people who’ve played the game and got frustrated with their investigating time being shortened they quit playing the game. Something you might to think about. When you have the investigation part of the books in the Sherlock Holmes game you keep the same type of investigative series on there too long, keep the investigative series for a certain length of time, keeping it on there too long it becomes boring, you need a new investigative scene.

Dwindling Love

It's sad to say that my love for Sherlock is lessening almost on a daily basis. They decided to take away the option of changing the type of hidden object game you can play with coins. I want to say Mirrored Reality (spot the differences) format, truly leaves me with headaches more times than not and for a while I tried to muscle through it til it triggered a bad migraine because I kept getting them back to back to back in the same chapter. Sorry to say match 3 play gets boring even with some of the best ideas. Without the option to switch out the Hidden Object format I have had to stop playing 20 chapters all in 3 books, 2 in books newly opened and the new Snow White monthly event . Why you removed that option, is beyond me because it wasn't cheap and you make gaining coins so easy it's ridiculous , I have over a million am over level 120. I really loved this game but under the circumstances, I'll have no choice but to stop playing. To add, The back to back to back side events is just annoying game makers have to know how many teams were not allowing upstarts that players HAD to make a new one which stays at a single player

Good game BUT…

I’m level 110, so I’ve been playing the game for a while now. I really enjoy it! I’m really sad to say that I won’t be playing it anymore. I know that won’t matter all that much to the developers since I don’t spend a whole lot of money on it …I’m just sad that they don’t pay any attention to their loyal player’s suggestions. I have asked several times that they not FORCE me to use a gift on their time …but to put it in my inventory and let me use it when I have time! Today is just one more example of that. They start a new “quest” every month…so that’s great …but every month they start that quest by giving you 60 minutes of free power…which sounds awesome ..right? Well not when their update takes 45 minutes or more to load … so you click on a room to enter and it pops up with sorry we are updating …and to add insult to injury, they then start the new quest …which includes an additional 30 minutes of free play …but again it’s useless because instead of letting you “claim” it later when you have time and the game has finished it’s update they force you to accept it before you can continue…so even though I enjoy the game, I’m done and now looking for a new one!

Entertaining, yet Frustrating

Like the fact that we can do hidden object scenes or M3 boards. Graphics are gorgeous and the brief dialogue exchanges are fun. Early days still, but so far I am enjoying this game. Once the puzzles become far too difficult to complete w/o paid power-ups, I will revisit my review. 😂
EDIT: never thought it possible that a game so promising would end up sucking all the joy out of playing M3 for me. Yes, the levels need powerups to complete, despite the claims of the developers—or be played too many times to be fun—but I expected that w/FTP. What surprised me was the confusion all the various side quests (for lack of better description) would bring and that tapping on a powerup to learn what it does during a round would lock the “use” screen on. Also, I hate, hate, hate those clocks, lol. I am *so* confused by all the bells and whistles—they are gorgeous, though—that I can only play for 10 minutes at a time, if that.
So many different stories to explore, but no option to choose less intense levels for a break. I need to find a paid version of a M3 game like I select for the hidden objects games I play too. 3 or 4 storybooks per game in a series might be worth considering, G5 as an additional option to what you’ve got here.

Pretty good game...but, don't ask for a review when your players have barely played the game!

Game isn't too bad. I haven't found too much that I don't like except when I'm more or less forced to writing a review too early on in the game. Right now, it's way too early for me to gauge whether or not I really like this game. I really don't like it when a game not only forces you to rate their game, but to also give an in depth review without having experienced every bit of the game! Ask me again in a few weeks, once I have a routine down! If you want feedback about the game right this second about the game, ask relevant questions related to what the user has experienced thus far, not an in-depth, we're going to publish this in SherlockHiddenObjectMatch3 Store kind of review! I absolutely hate it when game devs do this! Let your players have some time with the game! Think about your past experiences with games you've purchased. Wouldn't you rather have been asked questions about your gaming experience AFTER you finished the game and not in-between levels, or at the beginning? Doesn't that defeat the purpose?

Not happy

I like the game but it is costly the further into it you get. You use up energy so quickly! You use up crystals buying energy and also to keep playing the game your currently in. Plus the fact how many crystals you have to use! You go through those very quick! Also, my eyesight’s not what it used to be, so the time limit on the hidden object games, aren’t long enough, so I go through a lot of extra crystals buying extra time. I want to keep playing this game but it’s getting too expensive!!!! Also, I’ve noticed that someone else is charging stuff on my credit card!!!!!!! I know this because there are things being bought on days I didn’t buy anything, plus things are bought that I don’t even buy!!!!! I don’t appreciate this one bit!!!! I have deleted the three players I friended on the game, but it continues to happen. Can you look into this and find out who’s stealing from me? I’m about to call my credit card company and get them involved. I have been paying for a lot of things that I didn’t purchase!!! Im about to just delete the game all together!

Sherlock

The graphics and vocabulary used are great. The game is creative and challenging, but it is truly cost prohibitive once you really get into the game. And what is the use of earning gold coins? You can’t buy rubies with them, and you can only earn rubies very, very sparingly. It’s the rubies that you need to use to buy the devices you need to help you along the way. It is for these reasons that I downgraded the gaming experience, am contemplating deleting the game altogether, and have not mentioned it to friends. I need certain assemblers but can’t earn them even though I win the game. I do spend money on this game but come on be fair. Please consider making it plausible to earn assemblers without having to MOSTLY use crystals. UPDATE. I just recently deleted the game even though I enjoyed it. I simply can’t justify spending that much money on a game. Perhaps you might consider making things more reasonable to buy. Best of luck. Update...The bottom line is to make the game more affordable for a wider range of players especially during this long drawn out pandemic. Actually, I can’t see that you have changed that many things that were in need of it. It is for this reason that I haven’t suggested it to friends. Sorry. Please make it easier to use gold coins to buy crystals as well as our own money. Also, let us use gold coins to buy tools etc. Please think about it. Thank you.

Really like it, but…

Like the title says, I really enjoy this game and have been playing off and on since release. I love Sherlock Holmes, so of course this was a great find for me. The graphics excellent like all G5 games. I’ve seen other reviews mention not liking the timer…and I agree to a point, I’d prefer to not have a timer, but it is what it is. I’ve played other hidden object games that give you a 1 minute timer and that’s all. This game gives you 2.5-3 minutes…so very generous in comparison. The but, mentioned in the title, is the amount of side quests. For me, ideally, there would be 1 main quest, 1 side quest, and 1 event quest. Currently I have a main, an event, and about 7 side quests. It’s overwhelming and very difficult to keep the story straight. I even tried to just focus on the side quests to clear them out a bit, but more just kept appearing. G5’s Twilight Land game does this perfectly…3 total quests and plenty to do and not frustrating or overwhelming. I wish they could translate that to Sherlock. Thank you!

Sherlock Review

Sherlock Hidden Object is an ok game in my opinion. I will warn newer players that the game gets challenging very quick which might lead to you getting stuck on a quest for awhile. The tools you’re given to help solve the puzzles will definitely go quick and you will wish you saved them. The prices for buying in game items seems rather decent for an app of pretty good quality. The storyline and artwork are well crafted. The main screen seems a bit crowded though and I wish I had a tab that could shrink the bar away and back if I needed it ever which would be cool imo. I love getting the choice between match 3 and find the objects though I dislike that if I choose one and complete it the other will stay the same find 2 objects or reverse until I do that one as well. It’d be so much more helpful in progression if you finished one the other changed as well because rn I’m stuck doing the match 3 only on one scene because the mirror mode is too challenging for me to complete! Otherwise, Sherlock is a decent game with some flaws and a good way to pass time for something!

Love the game but,

Good day, I have been playing this game only a short period so far. I really love and enjoy the game but it has some things that could definitely change. My #1 complaint is the arrows in the scenes. They are a constant distraction and neurological irritation! I have survived a number of TBI’s (traumatic brain injuries) as well as 4 strokes. I also have a scar on my right eye. I can understand offering the occasional reminders to YOUNG players, but give adults the option to turn them OFF in settings! They are very bothersome and after 30 minutes of playing I find it getting more and more difficult to focus due to headaches and strain on my right eye. Directly linked to the very irritating flashing arrow hints. I really love the variety of scenes and some being more difficult than others, but there is definitely improvements that can be made for accessibility players. Blessed be to all and I hope customer service will adopt these suggestions. I would hate to have to stop playing another enjoyable game because of straightforward adjustments not being made.

Unique storyline & nice graphics

This game is very similar to G5’s Hidden City game in some ways such quests and events. If you like Sherlock Holmes & classic stories like Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz & etc; then you should like this game which combines both. The artwork & the game isn't too childish for adults or seniors and graphics are almost as realistic as in Hidden City. For fun, you can feed the cat who gives a tool as a reward. Players have a choice of playing a hidden object scene or match 3 game which is nice. Tools can be hard to get when playing free. However, players are discouraged from buying pricey tools as many tools are lost when timer cuts the scene off as all scenes are timed. A tool for unscrambling is badly needed as one can’t descramble words they are unfamiliar with. Compass tool needs to be improved as it doesn’t work well around the edges of scenes nor zoom in close enough. Zoom needs to go in more as most players are on mobile devices. Please improve profile so full date of birth is optional so that players may omit the day and/or month of birth for privacy & fraud protection.

Been playing for a little over a year now

Update: I did the fix and it worked. The Halloween event was a bit buggy but they ultimate worked the bugs out and gave some free boost and play time. I do like the game and I like the option of either searching for items or match three.

Updating only happens if the game is open and is slower than molasses in January (my connection and room on my device is more than sufficient). Can’t play the game until the download is complete even though it claims you can. Between this and my previous comments, I can’t give this more than a 3, which is too bad as the game play is quite good. I really enjoy the game but the special monthly game seems almost impossible the last few months. I get the library card and I finish the special story but still nowhere close to collecting all 30 of the bonus items. The first 3 or 4 months I was able to gain all 30 and then the times seemed to have shortened and even when it got back to 25 days (I swear it used to be 30 days), it seemed impossible to collect enough of the special energy to be able to finish the library card.

Sherlock

Great game. Sherlock is my favorite in G5. I find this game to be entertaining, challenging at times, and addicting (lol). My only struggles are: -It would be nice if we could spend coins earned on energy. -I feel as though there could be more opportunities to earn energy and to also spend coins on jewels, instead of having the option to actually purchase jewels with real currency. -It would be helpful to have an index of all items possible to gain in the game, (Tools, Assemblers, etc.) With a number count of how many of each item the player has already collected and has not. In addition to more explanation on how to use artifacts. -iy would be nice to receive free 30-1hr time at our own convenience because sometimes after winning a competition and I am rewarded with free time, that time is not an appropriate time for me. -it would be nice to have rollovers for after completing a game. Such as, if I don’t use a colored sphere because I have already completed a game, and it is still in the game, it would be helpful if I could hold on to it for another game. -Thant’s all I can think of off the top of my head for now. Overall, this game is very enjoyable!

I Really Like This Game

I enjoy playing this game because it gives you plenty of energy to spend a quality amount of time exploring the different books & pages & scenes. I also like that I can choose which type of game I want to play; whether match-3 or hidden objects, which is unique. I guess my favorite thing is that they give a good amount of time to search for the hidden objects. I love to play these kinds of games, but I have memory problems & my brain moves slowly because of it. Not everyone has a super computer for a brain, but that doesn’t mean we should be excluded from enjoying games that can help with our mental processes, too. So, thank you for being a little more inclusive to those with mental disabilities, even if that wasn’t your intention😁. I also like that we’re not constantly bombarded with in-app purchase ads, like some other games. Not everyone can afford to spend real money on games while living on small budgets & it gets tiring to get these ads every few minutes. I like that you don’t pop them up so often as to be annoying. My one negative would be that I wish some of the scenes weren’t quite so challenging (Alice in Wonderland, for example). All around fun & pleasant experience that I enjoy nearly everyday.

Sherlock

I’m 66 years old and addicted to this game. It helps my memory, my attention to detail, but it does nothing to help my wallet! It wouldn’t let me highlight a star, but it’s a five. Thank you for hours of entertainment! On this second comment of this game after 3 years of playing, I still love it, but maybe an Alzheimer’s button for those of us who can’t remember the boards of every book? 🧐 Also, the commentary on the stories requires knowledge of the books to make sense of what of what is being said. As an adult knowing these books I can make sense of it; although, it is out there. The time between engaging between commentary of where everyone is in the books lacks cohesion for me. I was a teacher and wonder if kids read and follow the discourse for each book? I will continue to play the game. I don’t look to demean the writer of the commentary, but a lean away from trying to create one’s own story using the characters might be better enjoyed and followed if, somehow, after each board played or each event opened were a continuous story. I have no idea how that would be done. Just a thought. Good luck. I’ll still play.

Review from Morning Dove-2

I am enjoying this game thus far. I also started playing June’s Journey and Pearl’s Peril. I was unable to play scenes due to lack of energy, flowers, and tokens today, so I have been searching for another search game. It would be nice to not be retired and on a fixed income but it is what it is. All games are similar but the energy is refilled when a quest is done in this game. There is also an option to select finding hidden things-which I love or matching-which I hate. Also the objects move around in this game which do not move in the other 2 games. There are items you receive to assist you when you are unable to locate an item in this game. A pointer helps you decide which one to use. The story plot is intriguing and the objects are animated like a jumping rabbit to click on. I do hope there are no surprises as I level up with this game to force me to buy or becomes too difficult for me to play. I give this game a 5 star review.

Review

Fun game! Very enjoyable. Fast paced on 5G. Downloads fail with added time. I switch back and forth only using my fingerprint, or the same for closer chats, tight run on 5G. You’ll wait a long time…if you have multiple people out here on 4G or less. Great game! Rated Jurisdiction is a clear path to success. It makes 5G Adults accessible with $..😊 ..Unbeatable. The only mind control for a kid is…it’s addicting. As an adult, we play Super. I don’t spend much $ at all. This game will let you gamble…bitcoin…changeover… If you know what you need and have it, or can access it through the game. Play hard and tough. Take care of the friends you make! Pay it forward! Recruit successful candidates as friends! They will help you…when they notice you have played for nearly 7 years. And give sought after items. Let’s play “Sherlock” make your first destination mine. I will help starters and very advanced. See you soon fellow successful friends! ❤️👀❤️signed kzrla or Kapna.

Excellent game…totally addicting!

This game is so much fun to play, it’s addicting!! This game is beautifully done, love the animations when you win things and especially when you need to go someplace, it tells you where you need to go lol. I don’t personally care much for the story part of it, I just enjoy the ‘finding items’ part within a timeframe aspect. The most recent improvements have made this the ONLY game I play now! LOVE how you can adjust the ‘type of play’ I guess you call it, by hitting the green return circle thing. There are a few game types I’m not a fan of therefore, those books I avoided. Now, I can go back and switch the type of play for those books and voila! Problem solved! The only other improvement I would like to see made is that the match 3 for the higher levels are actually winnable! Also, one question for the developers: why doesn’t “birdsong” actually sing or make noise?

Annoying, and can be costly if you get hooked into all the tools you need to actually win a board. If you dont care about progressing in the game, you cannot spend much money...but I am at level 161 and can play for 30 minutes and not win one board. I stick to a budget...and there was a time I was ok with just the process of playing whether I won or not...if I would have known what I now know I would never have downloaded this game...if you have unlimited funds it will be a blast for you...it is nearly impossible to break to new levels without spending money. If you don't care about that then go for it...it's fun and challenging but can be very expensive if you are not careful. It makes me angry that the longer you play (which means you have spent more money than those who have played less), the more it costs to continue to play...they dont care so it is no use complaining to them ...after all they are in it for the money.
