A great game BUT!

I’ve played a lot of games from Murder Store and as we all know these in-app-games are set up for you to spend money to advance in it. Some games are actually fairly reasonable in their requirements of when they want you to spend money. This this app by choice is a really engaging and enjoyable game to play, until you “need” to buy energy to advance. Out of all the games I’ve played this game is about the greediest game to play. I’ve said it before and will say it again here. I don’t care how good a game is. If I have to spend a fortune to be able to play it I’ll just delete it. And this game falls right into that category. I earned 50 energy points to add to the 14 I had but don’t think I got 10 minutes of play time out of that much energy. So tell me, how much play time am I going to receive if I start dishing out money? I’m not going to find out. I gave this game two stars because it’s a great game. Otherwise it would’ve only gotten one star.

An update, since my first review I tried watching a video to obtain 10 energy points. After the video ended, the download indicator spun in circles endlessly, never receiving the 10 energy points. This game is worthless and not worth the thought of even open it. In all my years of playing cyber games I’ve never seen such greedy developers. I am noting this games maker (s) and will not download anything else from them. Do NOT waist your time with this game aside from how good it might be it is a total waist of time!

energy + rollback

I really like that the game doesn’t force ads and lets people opt in or out of them. But I’ve had the same complaints about energy as everyone else. Together, I’ve tried to use the feature of watching an ad and getting 10 energy. I think that’s a great idea. But if I watch an ad, there’s an about 50% chance that a “discrepancy” will be found and “a rollback [will be] issued” which deletes the energy received from watching the ad. At that point the options are to purchase energy, rewatch the ad, or close the game. I sometimes rewatch the ad but this bug really kills the enjoyment of the game and discourages me from trying the ad exchange or a regular purchase in the future. When another nordcurrent game, Happy Clinic, has an issue fulfilling an ad-related reward, it puts up a notice that the reward will be delivered later, and then it actually is. This would help and be a good middle ground from where the game is now and actually improving the energy system. I will say that if I could complete more than two tasks per day, whether that be from decreased energy cost or increased regeneration, I really doubt i’d encounter this issue as much or be as frustrated by it. Thanks for enticing games, have a nice day

UPDATE: I left the game fully closed for more than 24 hours and came back to 160 energy. That was enough to finish the task I’d started before I set it down and do one other thing.

Great game, greedy developers

Love the game. The storyline, graphics, and characters are fantastic. HOWEVER, the energy bar is unfair to players. Every single action costs an unreasonably large amount of energy and there’s nothing we can do to gain energy except wait (1 point every 7 minutes). The energy bar depletes very quickly, and refills very slowly (I had 155 energy points when I started playing. It was gone in about 5 minutes!). Every object found, every choice made, every puzzle, costs energy, I even lost a lot of energy for leaving the game on a hidden objects scene! Some of these actions cost 10 energy points, but you earn 1 point every 7 minutes?? That means that 1 second of gameplay can take up to over an hour to earn—which is unheard of in any game. This is clearly a ploy to make money off of the players and entice them to spend money on energy. I’d like to give the developers 5 stars for developing an intriguing mystery game, but conning players into spend a ridiculous amount of money in order to play longer than 5 minutes at a time is greedy and tasteless.

SUGGESTION to developers: Either make actions cost less energy (ex. 1 object=1 energy), OR give us opportunities to gain energy for actions during gameplay.

SUGGESTION to other players: Look for other games (Choices is a good one) before spending a crap ton of money on this one. Remember that you have options.

Fun, but not worth it

I’ve grown increasingly frustrated with this game. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay and don’t mind paying occasionally to continue, but it’s excessive. There’s been multiple occasions in which I’ve opened the game after HOURS and still haven’t had enough energy to do a single thing. I’ve paid money, found hidden objects, and completed achievements and still can’t play for more than a few minutes before I have to wait for my energy to restore. I’ve also tried to download the developers other games to get 100 energy as promised, but that has never worked either. It’s ridiculous that it takes 7 minutes for a single energy, while the least any action requires is 5. That means we have to wait 35 minutes to find a single object in a hidden object game, out of probably ~15 objects. I’ve even tried watching the ad videos, but after nearly every other video I get an error saying “discrepancy in game progress” that sends me back a few minutes and takes back all of the energy I’d earned from videos. This has happened countless times and makes the game all the more frustrating. Either the time to get energy needs to decrease or the energy required for tasks needs to decrease. This game is fun, but it’s not worth it anymore.

fun BUT….

i was really excited to play this game. the storyline is great, i enjoy being able to make choices, and the mystery part is awesome. However i have many problems with the game. like everyone else on here i have MAJOR problems with the energy development on this game. 24 hours after playing you don’t even have full energy. just forcing people to spend money if they want to play. the amount of energy you get does not equal the amount you need to complete the missions. even to be able to talk to people you need energy, something that is not intertwining in the least. i’m really disappointed in the development of this game and i was very excited.

the responses to all the reviews are exactly the same and they have not changed a thing, don’t expect that they have. the bonus energy you get is 15 MAX which is not enough to make a a single decision, much less play the searching games. they also don’t tell you how much energy you lose when you randomly click on the pictures

all together i was very excited but very disappointed by this game, all that is needed to fix it is refill the energy faster, otherwise it’s definitely not worth playing or wasting your money on. $5 gives you 200 energy which maybe lets you play for 5 minutes. stupid game

Is there anything about this game that is not broken?

Complete waste of time even down to trying to write a review about my experience and/or update my original review. Everything I wrote froze and when I came back, it had all been deleted and it’s not my phone. The game and it’s add watching completely fouled up. I tried to use support it didn’t work then I come here to write a review and it freezes up and deletes itself. Don’t come at me with contact support. Please if you read it and you work for the company this is my report I’m not one to complain over a game but I’ve spent about 20 minutes of my life now messing around with a phone game. Do better. Huh? 🤨 Also, you can pretty much spend all 200 energy that it gives you per day roughly, quicker than you can regain one or two energy. The little bit of in-game task energy you can earn doesn’t last but a couple of clicks in most cases. I think there’s one that you get 50 energy which can be drained in 1 or two moves depending on the move.. Whoever set up this pricing was really feeling stingy . 🤦🏽‍♀️

And one last update, I went back in to see if I can make another move, and I still can’t go from the center of the basement through the kitchen door because it costs 30 energy just to walk through the door. Rip off.

Frustratingly Greedy

I really loved this game when I first started. They give you a huge amount of energy to start with so that you can get through the first 20 minutes of the story. However, after that, this game becomes nearly impossible to play. You get one energy bar per minute, and nearly everything you do costs energy, and it costs large amounts (on average, 10-30). You want to move through the story? Energy. Every move you make on a mini game? Energy. You’ve completed the mini game and so earned your prize? Guess what, you have to spend energy to claim it. While past reviews have talked about watching ads to get more energy, that’s not even an option anymore. And guess what, when you buy energy, the game stops accruing more as time passes. In other words, you can’t buy energy to build up a store that you can then use over time. I bought the beginning energy package they offer at a discount (1,000 energy bars), it lasted me a day and a half and, as stated, energy did not continue to build over time until my energy was below 200 again. You would have to spend hundreds of dollars to make this game move at the same pace as other games. I won’t be spending another dime on this game and I highly suggest you don’t either.

Fun game, but energy is a bust!

I don’t normally review a game. I play a lot of them on various devices, yet I had to on this one. I really enjoy this game, however the energy consumption kills the fun of it. I understand purchasing more energy but you would end up doing it too often. Most task take took much energy. You are allotted 200 energy in 24hrs, some tasks take 50 energy’s from you and others with the full range of 50-5. However the fun stuff takes the most. Each item you pick up consumes 5 energy’s. I understand that you can skip the mini games and whatnot, but those make it fun. It changes it up and that is a key point as to why this game is great to play, if you could play it longer. I also downloaded TWO other games from your link that says, “install and run this game to get 100 energy” and didn't receive those either! Fortunately I like the other games I installed from the link but I felt taken a back by the fact I didn’t get the 200 energy for them. There sure be another way to get more game play than just five minutes. Really kills the fun in the game. 😒 Other than that, I really enjoy it!

Energy Crisis!!

This game is SO good. I love the storyline, the graphics and how you can direct the game play by the responses you choose. It’s kind of like a choose your own adventure book.

BUT…the energy situation in this game is horrible. I’ve never seen such a terrible system before…oh wait…yes, I have. In all of Nordcurrent’s games. They make such amazing games, but they are all impossible to play. You would think that the hundred’s of reviews they have received complaining about this same issue would make them rethink their system, but it hasn’t. Don’t you need satisfied players to be a successful game developer???
Every game that I have played by them requires an insane amount of energy to do anything, even to have a conversation. And the energy refills like a s…l…o…t…h. It takes six minutes to refill one energy point??? I’ve not played it for an entire day and still come back to an energy meter that isn’t fully refilled.
I can’t understand what having such a horrible energy system does for them other than earn them A LOT of low reviews. I’ll be a player of your games if you revamp the energy systems. But until then, I’m out.

Fun But Requires a Ton of Purchases Unless You Play at a Snail’s Pace

The game in compelling and I enjoy the mixture of choices searching for hidden objects, but the rate at which the lightening (which you need to do almost anything) regenerates is UNBELIEVABLY SLOW. I’m fine occasionally choosing to spend money on something to improve gameplay or allow me to get ahead, but unless you only want to play like 5 minutes a day, you’re stuck spending a ton of money. The developer seriously needs to reduce how much power you need to expend to do basic tasks or make the regeneration significantly faster, or it’ll completely turn off potential players. After three days, I’m seriously considering deleting the game rather than continuing to get hooked only to be frustrated almost every time I open Murder . And that’s with me already spending real world money to be able to continue playing. I can’t imagine how unbearably slow it would be going otherwise.

Could have been great, but chooses to be frustrating instead

This is the most tiresome/tedious interface for an adventure game I have ever experienced. The energy costs are ridiculous to begin with- it takes over an hour to save up enough energy to ask a single question. You can earn extra energy by watching an ad (if one is available to watch).

In theory, you can receive 10 energy for watching a 30-second ad. In reality, watching the ad may or may not award you any energy. If you *do* receive the energy, there is at least a 50% chance that after you spend it, the game will randomly claim “a discrepancy was found” and roll itself back to before the energy was awarded. In which case you no longer have the energy you earned AND once you re-acquire enough energy you will have to REDO the same painstakingly slow tasks all over again.

Huge, frustrating waste of time and I would absolutely never pay a single penny towards such a crappy set-up (although I do pay on games that are well-designed and demonstrate that they value their players).

Could be great

Like nearly every other reviewer says, this game is fun, the story and graphics are wonderful but the energy system ruins it. I dropped this app in the Alps for the same reason. I hoped this game would be more reasonable but it is just as bad. I am totally willing to spend money to play a game but there has to be a decent return on my investment in the form of game play. I bought over 700 energy and it lasted, maybe, 20 minutes.
The developers give the same response to all the negative feedback about the energy usage. I checked out the Facebook page and there are random ways to win energy but they are just lucky guesses and a few people win. Looks like a chance every week or two. And to suggest using collectibles or achievements as a way to get energy is ridiculous. Most give about 10 energy, enough to find two objects.
But there must be people willing to pay big bucks to enjoy this game for more than a few minutes because clearly the developers have no interest in changing the workings of it. I suspect I will move into something else shortly because I am not going to pay $20 to play for an hour or so.

Energy usage is crazy

This is a really nice game as far as graphics and storyline goes but the amount of energy usage it takes is ridiculous! It takes so much energy to do pretty much anything in the game, and the energy regenerates very slowly and then only up to a max of 200. I let it sit for almost a full 24 hours and the energy still wasn’t regenerated fully to 200. However it was at like 180 and that allowed me to play for less than 5 minutes. I don’t mind paying a bit of money for a game I enjoy so I did purchase the starter deal that got you 1000 in energy and even that lasted for maybe 30 mins of game play. At this point it seems like you would need to pay $100s to get anywhere in this game which is outrageous. Either charge outright for the full game or at least make it feasible to play more than 5 minutes per day without having to spend money on energy. If not I don’t think you’re going to have many people downloading or playing this game. Which again is a shame because it is great visually and fun (when you can actually play it that is)

Great game but problems with loading and freezing

Great game but problems with loading and freezing. There are times it takes ten times of trying to load the game before I actually get into the game. Upon opening app, it loads and then kicks me out back to my phone screen. It’s unbelievably annoying and frustrating especially when there is such great game play.
Also, I have had issues of the game freezing mid-game and I have had to contact help for the issue. (Which ended up taking 5 days!) so if these bugs could get fixed to prevent from happening then this game would have a 5 star rating from me.
If it wasn’t for these bugs this would literally be THE PERFECT game I’ve ever played on an app.
I really enjoy nordcurrent’s game options, currently playing happy clinic in between when waiting for energy to build on this game.
PLEASE FIX THIS BUG ASAP! Thanks!

Way too buggy

The developers deleted my last review, so I’m trying again … the energy is a huge problem, like every other review has said so I won’t waste your time there. The game allows you to watch ads to gain energy, but I’ve learned that every single time you watch a third ad during your current play time — even if you complete another in-game activity first — you’ll receive an error message that reads “We’ve found a discrepancy in the game progress. A rollback has been issued.”

From there, it kicks you back to the title screen and upon re-entering the game, you’ve not only lost all progress you’ve made, your energy is reset to before you watched the first ad.

It’s maddening enough to be forced to wait 24 hours for a full energy refill that lasts, at best, 2-3 minutes worth of playing time but this constant glitch that they won’t fix? I’ve emailed the developers with no response … cannot in good conscience spend a single penny on a game that crashes and erases progress with zero response from their help team about being able to restore paid play.

Fantastic storyline, incredible graphics and intriguing play, but the headache between the ridiculous energy situation and the constant crashing makes this one a no-go for me, guys, I’m sorry. If you expect players to spend money and continue to play, maybe at least communicate about bug fixes or iron these things out ahead of time. For me, you’re asking far too much out of your players without giving enough in return.

Good Game; Fix Energy Usage

I usually don't write reviews but I feel the energy usage is a huge flaw. It is a very fun game, even down to collectibles and hidden achievements. I love "I spy find the items" type of games so this one is great. My issue though is the amount of energy it takes to do the simplest tasks. It should take 20 energy to view an item and then 24 hours to replenish full energy. We only get to play the game for no more than 5 minutes before having to wait 8 hours to get enough energy to play for maybe a minute or wait 24 hours for the energy to be fully replenished.

It's also weird that when you play the "find the items" game, every time you find an item it takes 5 energy. I get that you lose energy if you pick a wrong item but you shouldn't get punished for finding the right item too.

I'm ok with buying more energy but if I have to buy energy every 5 minutes that's a bit ridiculous. It's a great game but the time it takes to replenish the energy should be greatly reduced. Energy should also only be no more than -10 at a time. Having to use 50 energy to interact with a cutscene when you only have 200 energy to work with makes the gameplay way too slow and hard to follow with the replenishing time.

I also saw a response to a review with a similar issue and the response was: "Play our other games to get more free energy." What? That shouldn't be the requirement to get energy.

Save Time, Read the Reviews

Save yourself some time and make sure you read the reviews left by others. THEN, read the responses to those reviews… that’s what the game is like. You can tell them about the energy being absurd for how long it takes to get and how much energy you spend on something. They don’t care. Even their “responses” are not specific to the problem, which means they don’t plan to fix it. It gets really frustrating playing for only a few minutes a day.. unless you pay money. Not worth the download. This game could actually be a great game, but their lack of knowledge for energy and time, and what is even Reasonable for gameplay, makes it an annoying game to even try to get into. Imagine a friend telling you a story but you only get to hear 5 minutes of the story each day. Eventually, you don’t even care to hear the rest. If you like these types of games.. I suggest Criminal Case.. it’s addicting and you get just enough energy and rewards to keep you on it for hours in the day! Happy Gaming!

3 videos for a single hint?

Nordcurrent created my favorite time management cooking game (Cooking Fever). I have played it every day for years - and I try to buy things to help the developers. And I enjoy this game. But, do not expect to get more than 5 mins of game time a day. That’s fine. The story is good and the search games are good. BUT, occasionally you need a hint. It requires THREE videos to get a single hint if you get stuck on a search. I don’t need them often, but it makes me irate when I have to get a hint. I know they are money makers for the developer, but it is a giant turn-off. I feel like they make some searches impossible , just to force the player to watch so so many ads. Also, I don’t spend money on this game - it costs so much actual money just to get one or two more mins of game time. The cost to enjoyment ratio is off. I will buy things for games I love to support the platform. But, it doesn’t make sense in this game. They need their Cooking Fever psychology analyst on this game if they want to capture players like me.

Waiting for energy is ridiculous

The game is super fun and I do really enjoy it, however, I went to bed overnight and my energy still wasn’t recharged in the morning. You use energy for almost every action even if it’s playing a hidden object game. You lose like 4 energy for every item found, 10 energy for every response you give when talking to someone and then lose energy from tasks that need to be completed. You are only allowed I think 115 energy and it lasts about 3 minutes. It’s crazy that I can’t even play this game every day because the energy takes too long to restore. If you didn’t use so much energy, it would be a much better game and I hope Murder developers do that. I did delete the game due to this. I also spent $5 on buying 1000 energy and that maybe lasted 10 minutes. It’s kinda crazy. They say you can earn energy from completing challenges but you need energy to complete the challenges so it doesn’t work. App developers: do better and this game will be more enjoyable for all.

Great story but energy ratios are way off

I spent money on this game today, and bought 1000 energy since I was really enjoying the story. Figured that would last awhile and wanted to support the game. It didn’t last long at all! Everything takes 5-30 energy. Every click, every swipe. I understand entering a new room would cost, or something harder but everything?! Just had 30 to enter room, 20 to go to the area, 15 to pick up the item. Now I need 20 to go back to the area to use it. And that’s not hints or anything, that’s to play. It makes it unusable to play. Totally understand the concept of energy and wanting people to spend or wait to refill, but need a better balance to keep players engaged. Chance to win energy with mini game? Nit charging 5 different times for 1 little task, etc.
Otherwise I would definitely rate 5 stars on the story and visual. Hope you will consider adjusting time, I would definitely be willing to spend money again and change rating to 5 stars, but not as is.

Awesome Game | Horrible Energy Design

This game is awesome, and so much fun. I love the narration and the storyline, the searching, everything about it is awesome…. The reason for my three star review is that the energy “reserve” and amount of energy to do an action/task is horribly off balanced… aka tasks take a lot of energy, and the amount that saves up (after hours of waiting) is minimal in comparison… Day one of gameplay, I was able to play through multiple scenes, conversations, interactions, hidden object searches, etc… it was awesome, but also clearly how they get you hooked. After my initial starter energy was drained… I had to wait hours for the 175 energy bank to return, so that I could continue playing the game… the 175 energy lasted me about 3-5 minutes of gameplay before I was completely out of energy again… I think it took about 75 energy points just to have a conversation with someone and brew a tea… I’ve played a ton of games from Murder Store, and think this game would be amongst my top few favorites, IF it wasn’t for this awful energy imbalance… If 2-3 simple actions/convos use ~75 energy points… the energy reserve should be much higher, like 500 energy instead… or there should be options to earn more energy faster. Love the game. Hate the energy…. As a side note… I’m always happy to spend money on great games, but it costs a minimum of $3 to buy more energy… 250 energy… which lasts 5-10 minutes, if you’re lucky…

Fun game, but…

The games is fun, it gives you options to choose from while you play. You can find collectibles, there are search for items games, and some puzzles to solve throughout the story. Yes, the energy does get used up quickly, really quick if it’s a small scene. That doesn’t bother me, I have other games I play. You can watch an ad to get energy, but it does not always give you the energy for watching the ad. That is very frustrating to me. It’s happened several times. As soon as that happens, I quit playing and move on to a different game. I hate that I wasted my time watching an ad, just so they can get some kickback, but I can’t get rewarded for it. I make sure I watch until it says reward granted, but nothing. Don’t start to search for items if you’re low on energy. I’ve made that mistake and when I got on again the next day, some of the items I had found were back in the search boxes. When I tapped them, it cost me energy again.
You spend little time playing due to how quickly the energy is used up. You might not get energy when you watch an ad.
If you start searching for items without enough energy to complete it, you might end up using energy to re-find them when you play again.
Fun game, but can be frustrating!!

3atar

I love the game but the choices take a lot of energy and it also take energy if u guess or click a wrong object by mistake with the little middles games it’s once I hit 200 energy it’s used within five minutes because you have to constantly use energy have convos or games I just think the balance is a little off I do appreciate you can watch ads but sometimes that doesn’t even work or it doesn’t go over 200 and you can loose energy quickly I love the game animations story line and it keep you on your toes I just hate how the energy can be taken so fast and kind of expensive like some actions are 50 energies like when they do the little comic part scene I like it but it takes alot of energy but other that great game but I hope that can be fixed soon I spent like 20$ and energy was gone within 10-15 minutes that’s really my pet peeve with but agin great story I just hope they can fix that also it takes a long time to get energy like 5 minutes it one energy after 24 hrs I still can be around 150 energy that a long wait long story short it the energy for me also it sent me back to a scene I already completed but had to start over with no compensation how yiu take my energy than send me back to whole new scene I already created .

Great Storyline, Expensive Energy Cost

I really like the storyline of this game. It’s really cool! I also like how you don’t constantly get ads. I actually have never had an ad in the game. On the other hand though, I can barely do a few tasks without running out of energy. And the achievements do help a little but not too much. The cost affects regular gameplay, but it also affects the usage of achievement energy. How am I supposed to use the energy for extra things ON TOP of what I already have to do if the cost of tasks is so expensive? The tasks drain the energy. The “cost” to perform simple tasks such as finding a hidden item (5 energy) is incredibly expensive. I’m also disappointed in the response to the amount of people who are reporting about this. The developer’s are replying the same to anyone who says anything about this.

If you’re looking for a game that has a really good storyline and cool concept (but you’re patient enough to wait two days to perform three tasks), then this is a great option for you! But if you’re like me and want to rip your hair out because you can barely get anything done without something popping up saying “You don’t have enough energy to perform this action!”, then this game is definitely not the one for you. :)

Energy problem

So I love this game and I only got it a couple days ago, after all, it has choices, fun characters, little “find the item in the mess”, puzzles and stunning graphics; but there is a HUGE problem (at least to me). The energy runs out incredibly quickly, and it seems like everything takes energy to use. This wouldn’t be much of a problem if not for the fact that it takes a whole two minutes to get ONE energy back and everything zaps up the energy immediately. For example, the little “find the item” thing which I gave praise to before, uses 5 energy per item, which somewhere around 20 items to find, along with that after a certain amount of taps the game takes away 10 energy, and with how hidden the objects are, seems very unfair to the rest of us who don’t have money we can throw at the game at any time in order to keep playing and having a truly fun, and immersive experience. Besides this major problem it’s a great game though and I would definitely suggest it to anyone that is incredibly patient

Thx for reading
have some doctor repellent 🍎

Deleting the Game

I never leave harsh reviews but this time is an exception because I am so frustrated and disappointed in this game. I love this app mystery games in general so I was excited to play when I downloaded it. The storyline in the beginning was very intriguing and when I first started the game it was fun…until I ran out of energy. I have played many games where you can watch ads or complete side tasks to earn more energy which is understandable; however it is ridiculous how much energy you have to use for the simplest of tasks. Every action in the game uses up at least 5 energy points. I can’t play the game for literally more than 5 minutes.

I specifically came to the reviews to see if other people had the same complaints as me and it looks like everyone feels the same way. Also the developers have had the same response to every comment, so I don’t think they really care about the complaints as long as they’re making money. It’s actually really sad because I would genuinely like to see the story through and finish the game but it’s really not worth it. I’ll find a better this app mystery game 🤷🏽‍♀️

If I could give less than one star I would. I’m not wasting my money to purchase energy that will be depleted in 5 minutes. This game is being deleted off my phone and I’m not downloading another game by these developers. Sorry not sorry.

Energy bar

I was playing this and saw that I started with over 1000 energy, but after like 10 minutes of playing it said that I ran out of energy. I then waited for the timer that was underneath it because it only had a few seconds left, then I saw that it only gives you one every 10 minutes. The energy consumption is way too high as well, I got stuck at the part where you have to give a character an inhaler, because I kept having to come back every few hours, find like 3 items in the search, then I would run out of energy again. I know there is an option to watch an ad for 10 energy, but I don’t want to watch an ad for every single choice, and from other reviews, it doesn’t even work very well.

The devs even have an auto reply bot replying the same message about “being sorry that you are disappointed about the games energy bar”. And the fact that they have an automated message for it shows that they don’t really care. If you take a few seconds to look at the other reviews, you will see this message in almost every review, it will probably be under mine too.

Otherwise, the story is pretty good so far but the energy bar makes it so hard to keep playing, if you want people to play your game, make it where they can.

Don’t waste your time

Geez I should’ve read the reviews before downloading this game. Based on the beautiful graphics, decent puzzles, good characters and storyline I was hoping the developers simply didn’t realize how terrible their energy spending and earning ratio is but that’s all the reviewers have been telling them. And apparently they don’t care! 80-90% of “play time” is spent watching ads. About 50% of the time the energy reward from the ad doesn’t load until several minutes later, and the game force reloads which does give you the missing energy, but completely rewinds your game progress and makes you re-do several actions. It takes almost 24 hours to reload a full energy bar naturally, without ads or tons of money, and you can spend the whole bar on maybe 3 activities. Then you get to watch ads for an hour and a half just to do 3 more activities. Even if you decide to pay to refill your energy you spend it in just a few and have to pay again. I don’t even want to know how much money it would take to enjoy this game at a decent pace. I love a good mystery game and am really hoping the developers fix this ridiculous energy problem soon. I’d be excited to play chapter two in that case. Also, the last several chapters reaaallly drag on, which makes this whole thing worse.

Love for the most part

I’m really enjoying the game and the story line. I’m going to echo all the other reviews about the energy. I have to wait 24 hours for my energy to completely refill. There is only an option to eat an ad and get 10 energy which really does not go far at all. While I understand the need to make money it would be great if there were other ways to get more than 10 extra energy at a time. Like maybe once in 24 hours you could earn 50 energy by watching an ad or something, anything really. I’ve played plenty of energy games and this has to be the worst I’ve played in terms of getting energy without paying for it. However the game is really solid. I love the story line and the games you play and all of the options you get. At some point hopefully you will listen to your audience and come up with something to help earn more energy. And participating in contests on other platforms is not the way. This would be a 5 star for me if the energy were better.

Decent game, ridiculous costs

The game and plot is fun. However, you can’t play for much more than 5 minutes a day, unless you purchase more energy. The “deals” offered seem okay, except that you’ll be dropping ~$10 each time you want to keep playing. The amount of energy used for each action and the refill rate is ridiculous. For instance, today I started with 200 energy, which is the max amount it will refill without additional payment. I got through finding 4 or 5 items to complete a search activity, that couldn’t be completed prior as I had run out of energy, and had a conversation with two characters in which you are forced to answer questions that expend energy. I am now at 40 and the next move in the game (simply opening a safe) will cost me 50 in energy, and it immediately advertises their deal on energy for $7 for today. The free refill rate is 1 energy every 7 minutes, so in over an hour, I could complete one more simple move in the game. I have made purchases as the game was enjoyable, but it’s really not worth it and is very clear that the developers are incredibly greedy, as says many other reviews I saw. They are completely correct.

please listen to your audience!!

i have been playing this game for over a week and i have yet to even finish a chapter. the most i’ll play out of this game in one day is literally 5 minutes and that’s being generous. you guys keep writing that you will work on these issues for YEARS and absolutely nothing has changed. it takes over a day to refill the bar and it’s impossible to get anything done. why does opening the closet cost 20 energy? why do some events cost 50 energy even though it takes me ~5 minutes to finish it? i keep seeing in the reviews that you hold facebook contests and advertisements but aren’t actually listening to what people are saying. a majority of the younger audience might not even have facebook. this is ridiculous and i believe that something HAS to be done to improve this game or else people are going to drop it. at this rate it’ll take over a year to finish this game. it’s also ridiculous that we have to complete the entire clue part of the story even AFTER we find the object we needed for the quest. please listen to your audience and actually implement suggestions people are asking for.

Great game! But energy usage way too high!!

I love this game. The graphics and story line are wonderful. I love this app in the alps, so trying this was a no brainer.
But I’m really disappointed. It costs way too much energy to do simple tasks like to VIEW a doorknob Is 20 energy then to open it is another 20 energy!
That plus the regeneration of energy is incredibly slow for how much energy it costs to do things. This is no where near how much it is for this app in the alps. After my energy replenishing a whole 9 hours I can only can play 5 minutes.
I’ve collected all the collectibles (and a lot of hidden achievements) and it still doesn’t put much of a dent in it.
I’m fine spending occasional money on a great game, but it being necessary to even get any sort of play time in is ridiculous. I’m really thinking of just deleting Murder . Which is really sad cause I love the game!! I know it’s not like this in your other games, so why now?? Please rectify this or it’s going turn off a ton of new AND established players.

It’s good, but one thing makes NO sense

Edit: the developers said the same thing as they did on my airplane chefs review. “go check out our facebook for giveaways and contests.” I will say it again, I simply want to be able to watch ads for energy past 200 energy. That’s it, be able to watch ads beyond the energy capacity like this app in the alps, or maybe make an in app purchase so you no longer use energy, kind of like buying the game. I would GLADLy buy that.

If you previously played this app in the Alps, that game has a WAY lower energy balance rate. If you compare the two, you spend way kore energy doing things in this game. What IRKS me is why we can’t watch video ads ON TOP OF 200 ENERGY. We can in this app in the Alps, im sitting at 1000 energy and i STILL can watch videos. As soon as i watch an ad that makes me reach 200 energy, im no longer able to watch ads to stack in this app By Choice. I will NOT spend money on this game, as this app in the alps proved i can support the game by watching tons of ads. If there’s an option to take time out of my day to watch hundreds of ads a week, please take away the limit to ads in this app by choice. I feel like I play for 4 minutes, then boom I’m out of energy. I like to play more than that, so I have to watch 20 ads to refill, then again and again. I want to watch tons of ads to get a good stock and play at a minimum of 30 minutes! Also please please add chapter 2!

Money wasting game

I’ve been playing this game for about a week and spent about $120 on just energy alone. Every task requires more than 20 energy and it’s not the same amount of energy on the different tasks. One task will be 20 energy another one will be 50 energy. Not to mention it takes 7 minutes to fill one energy and every task is about 10 energy or more. So after waiting for an hour for free energy you can only complete one task then have to wait another hour to complete one more task. This is absolutely ridiculous and for this reason I definitely don’t recommend this game. It is really expensive and it wastes a lot of time and especially money. Buying the energy isn’t cheap.

The 250 energy they give you is all used up in just completing 3-4 tasks and those stupid mini games. Even there 1200 energy doesn’t help to finish up the tasks because they have a lot of findings and mystery searches and the other annoying thing is if you can’t find an item and you don’t know what it is and you tap around the screen to find it, it times out and takes away 10 energy just for tapping the screen to search for their stupid items. I’m going to try and get my money back totally not worth the money!

Great game but…

Like this app in the Alps, this is a great game but my issues are with this app in the Alps and this app by Choice is it takes way to long for the energy to refill and unless I’m missing something the max it will refill to is 200. Many other games refill faster, and as you advance in the game the energy increases and the time it takes to refill will decrease a bit. It’s IMHO dumb to take 7 minutes to get 1 energy. It takes umm if I matched right about way to long… You give the same answer to everyone sorry, but you can earn energy by…..why not fix it so it doesn’t get full energy

Update: Been advertising for months on the game an new part is “ coming soon” but what amazes me is the response you have to all of us complaining about the energy, no solutions other then you can do this within the game to get energy. One of the games I play ups how much energy you have as you advance in the game or level up actually, and it takes maybe 2 hours to fill beck up, and I have over 6,000 in energy.
You tend to ignore the biggest complaints about your games and that’s the ENERGY, I wonder what would happen if no one spent money on your ga,e, would you listen then? I doubt it.

Beautiful Graphics, Intriguing Story, Energy is a Little Too Precious

I love NordCurrent’s games. I play most of them. this app By Choice is another great addition to their catalog. The game is beautiful with great character design, detailed environments, great background music, and good voice acting. I like that the game alternates animated graphics with comic-style storytelling for the more complicated parts of the story. I love the main character, Carla, especially because she’s beautiful, smart, and fun.

I have a couple issues with the game. The amount of energy required to make certain decisions and complete certain tasks is too high when compared to how slowly energy refills. Sometimes I will have nearly 200 energy, but I’m only able to do two or three things before running out. One thing that helps with this is the energy exchange between this game and this app in the Alps; it’s cool that playing one game helps me get energy in the other. My other issue is that hints don’t replenish like in this app in the Alps, but you have to watch three ads to gain one hint!

Overall, it’s a great game, just don’t expect to progress through the story very quickly.

I love the game but, energy is a problem

I really do love this game, it has great graphics, a nice storyline, and overall a good interactive game but, my number one complaint- just like everybody else’s is; the energy. I started the game out with 1000 energy’s and after a few days of playing the game I’m down to 10 and literally can’t gain anymore. Usually in a game, you gain back all your power points after a certain amount of time; in this game, I’ve barely gained any energy since I got the game, which was a few days ago. I thought when I woke up the next morning I'd get my energy back but literally, I've barely gained any, it's like the energy timer stops once I leave Murder . It's quite irritating. Edit- after a few months of playing the game, I still love it but now, the energy only fills up to 300 and you can literally only play the game for about 5 min because the actions take up so much energy. The designers of this game are greedy, they give you so little energy and the actions take up so much that. If you want to continue playing you’d literally have to buy more or wait until the next day or the day after that to play the game because that’s how long it takes to get all your ‘300’ energy’s back (then to loose it in 5 minutes). This game is going to continue to make me mad until y’all fix that.
