Too many diamonds

The stories are good but too expensive to have the story you want. You have to spend 21+ diamonds over and over for outfits that you get to use only ONCE? When I buy expensive clothes in real life, you bet I’ll be wearing it a lot. And if you choose the robe outfit you get people telling you you look bad basically and the character gets sad saying she should have changed. Like the game is telling you next time to just spend the money? I think thats crappy. And then if you do spend the diamonds on an outfit then you rarely have any left for the choices. So unless you spend money on the game you basically have to choose the lane choices which lead you to being bad at your job, or looking like an idiot, or letting people walk all over you, or saying no when you want to say yes. If you’re going to make all the choices that actually CHANGE the story so expensive then make the clothes cost less diamonds. Or no diamond. Or let us reuse outfits. Im in the spy story and Jerry brings outfits all the time.. they’re provided by my job why do I have to pay? I’m not spending any money on this game. I have real bills to pay. So if it takes me dropping $20 dollars all over the place to even get to choose what I want, it doesn’t hurt me at all to just delete LoveSick . The stories are good, well written, and entertaining. But at least when I buy a book in real life its a one time purchase.

Why? And suggestions.

You guys do give us a fair amount of chances for us to earn/get diamonds. But I think that when we watch the videos depending on the time; example, if it’s a 30 sec vid than it’d be 10 diamonds. If it’s a 10 sec vid than 5. Because the reason I’m suggesting this is because, the prices for the diamonds are way to high in the story. I had to wait till my story finished and came back in the span of about half a year to earn up close to 500 diamonds. After I played a couple episodes of part 3 of my story, I was only down to 14 diamonds. Because it’s unfair it’s like to make the right decision that could effect something that you know will happen in the future will kill that option because you won’t have enough diamonds for it. And even with watching the vids, it’s still not enough. So that’s why I recommend higher diamonds for watching the vid. And also we should get a option when we want to make a choice to watch a video to do it. Or the price shouldn’t be above 20. Or even 15. And we should start out with at least however many tickets are left in our story or at least half. I’m not trying to change the game completely, these are merely just suggestions that I know would make the game go to a 4.8 star rating to a 5 star and lots of positive reviews and more people. Thank you.

Mostly Good...

So I’ve been playing this game for a while. The choices are expensive and there are a ton of them, but at least you can get 4 diamonds per chapter and 20 per day for watching videos. And realistically the diamond choices barely affect the overall story other than maybe one phrase from another character or just an extra scene so that’s nice. Plus those scenes are A++ and I love them usually, even when I have to pay extra to continue the scene making the scene realistically cost 75 diamonds instead of 21. Up until this most recent update, I haven’t had a problem with LoveSick like at all. I’d have even given it a 5 star rating.

But there used to be a way to use old diamond outfits for outfit choices. If at the beginning of the chapter you opened the closet and put on one of your purchased outfit, you could later choose it and it would act as if you’d chose a diamond outfit instead of the boring normal one. But they changed it and now you either have to buy an expensive new outfit or wear the boring old outfit. You can’t even change into an already purchased outfit without the benefit of the characters complementing you. It’s super annoying since there used to be a way to use those outfits more than once. Now it’s just pointless to buy them because the outfits barely affect the story.

No gems, no say

Although the stories are well written and tend to draw you in quickly, there’s no point in calling it my story if I have no say in the decisions that need to be made for my character. Saying that it is unfair to pay 25+ gems for every single thing in the game such as hair and clothing (that you only wear once by the way) is an understatement. It’s not just the fact that you have to pay for outfit changes multiple times in the story to make you go broke, it’s the fact that if you refuse to spend what little gems you have, the characters try to make you feel guilty about it. The game goes as far as to belittles you for not going into your bank account to buy more gems.

It’s also the “what to do next” choices that bring down your gem count as well. The game gives you on average two decisions to make. One realistic and one ridiculous. Guess which one costs 27 gems when you have 11 saved up! You only get about 10 free gems a day by watching ads and only one gem after finishing an episode. This doesn’t put a drop in the bucket when you get multiple gem questions per episode. You would have to save up for days before being able to answer just one of these questions. I will have to delete LoveSick since it has become more aggravating than entertaining. It seems almost everyone is complaining about this and changes aren’t being made, which is very disappointing.

Needs improvement

It’s a very interactive app, kind of an interactive chapter books, I liked the content in that point, you have some chances to earn diamonds needed to continue the story. It started with receiving a number of diamonds daily, which is not enough, but ok if the developers want a slow played game anyways (less data) in my opinion that number of diamonds should increase every day, more as the person logs in, (food for thought) but that earning stopped at day 5 of your login. So they don’t reward you for being a loyal player. Then earning diamonds is just so hard and inconsistent, by video, only limited to 5 a day and with earnings that can’t cover another choice (book chapter) you have to make to continue the game. A player that is rewarded usually spend more, but here the cost for what you get is also super high.... so I’m not sure, because there is no way I’d be spending $100 a month (buying the diamond packages needed to finish the chapters in the book since they don’t leave you with much choice to earn that, and it would add up to that or more just to finish a book) so in my opinion not worth it, having others app out there doing what I already said in my review. I ended up deleting LoveSick!

Too addicting to afford

Honestly, I love the storyline... maybe too much that I had to delete LoveSick . I know they’re smart by making us spend $$ to buy outfits or pick the juicy options but that’s the reason I had to let the game go. Buying an outfit costs AT LEAST 21 diamonds and it seems like you can’t use the same outfit twice and you don’t have the option to NOT buy an outfit either. It literally won’t let you move on, so either you buy or you’re stuck. I think if they can let us through with the option to reuse outfits or choose the plain ones, then I would definitely keep playing. The “good” choices cost way too much and if you don’t choose it then you’re doomed.
I purchased 200+ diamonds (around $20) and was forced to use it all within a few chapters, so if I want to finish my FIRST game, then I’ll have to shell out another $40 and ain’t nobody got time for that. Basically, If you’re ready to spend over $100, then this game is for you.
Love the game and the storyline, but if they’re going to overcharge us on short lived diamonds, then they’re going to lose more customers in the end.
Hopefully this changes cause I really loved LoveSick :)

Too much for too little

I have now tried about five of the story options. The stories are creative but it gets very annoying that every good choice costs so many diamonds (you have to either wait 24 hours, watch these obnoxious ads, or replay other chapters/stories to earn more diamonds). Do not make the competence/quality of the story characters so dependent on such expensive diamond choices because then you can’t play well unless you want to spend days in the same chapter of a story. The spy story is the worst! Everything in the game seems to revolve around 20+ diamond choices that pop up every couple of slides. Not worth it to be honest. Good choices should be like 2-5 diamonds if they are so necessary for the character to do well. It’s super annoying!

Additionally, the game has begun glitching. First, it won’t let you restart the chapter like it should. It acts like it will but doesn’t. Secondly, it will not give the proper amount of rewards for watching ads or things like that. If I’m going to go through the work of doing all the extra things just to earn the stupid diamonds, don’t glitch out and take away those diamonds away!

Please fix and make the stuff less expensive!

Pretty Good

I like this game quite a bit but I don’t like that after I’ve purchased an outfit I can’t use it again and if I wear the free outfit now my character says something disparaging about themselves. This game probably gears towards teen girls as well and I don’t think messages like I’m not trying to look my best if I can’t afford a certain outfit is the right message to send. Also I was playing the Just Roomates story and after the character goes on a job interview, the CEO doesn’t give her a job but then tries to ask her out at a coffeeshop after and then uses her number from the resume to pursue her. That’s really creepy and the fact the character is forced to go out with him, that this female character has no choice but to go out with a man who did this is frisée and disguising, not to mention he kisses her and none of these things you have a choice on. It sends a very bad message, especially in light of the Me Too movement. Not sure I’ll be continuing that story and it makes me irked the diamonds I’ve invested in it when it decided to take a very random turn into the main character having no choice but to be pursued by a pervert.

Poor choice of which story readers see first.

The stories I’ve read are good and well written. Reminds me of Choices and Episode. But the problem comes where the first story pops up when you first open LoveSick .
I’m not sure if it’s the same for everyone, but I was given a 17+ story without warning, knowledge or my consent. One that was very physically explicit. Now thankfully, I am 17+ but they never asked for my age and so they didn’t have a clue whether or not I was. Also, even as 17+ I personally have no desire to read that kind of story. Now that I have the ability to choose which stories to read I can avoid the stories whose descriptions lead me to believe it will be something I’d rather not read, but I didn’t get that option at first login and I didn’t appreciate that.
What I’m trying to say is, I think it was inappropriate to have the first story that was booted up be an explicit 17+ one. You never truly know who’s reading your stories. Yes, any story after that is the readers choice. But the initial story given to us readers upon first opening? Developers, that one’s on you.

Too Many Purchases, Not Enough Rewarding

I like the game. It’s fun, it’s interesting, helps me pass time; however, having to constantly use diamonds to answer a certain way, dress a certain way, etc is ridiculous. And it’s too expensive to keep dropping real money to buy diamonds for a game where you’re only allowed to use each outfit once. I allow myself to purchase the 20 diamond pack or 60 diamond pack here or there, but each time you have to use them, it’s 15-27 diamonds at a time, depending on the choice. I buy diamonds and they maybe last me another 10 minutes before I decide to wait to play the next day (by watching videos for 4 measly diamonds each) because I’m not about to buy more diamonds only to gain another 20 minutes of play time, if that. What a waste. And if you choose the free options, you’re generally being set up to be insulted or fail. Quite the setup/ripoff, if you ask me. There are other games that make paying for diamonds worth purchasing (one game I pay $1.99 and get 600 diamonds). There are also games where you can earn more diamonds by watching videos (10 diamonds per video), or you can complete offers and earn larger amounts of diamonds. Maybe you guys should take notes.

Way Too Expensive!!!

The only reason LoveSick gets two stars is because the stories are good! The backgrounds are very nice, but way too expensive in one book I read the character had outfits to buy for diamonds and I bought the outfit and by the end of the chapter which I literally read in like 3 minutes the outfit is gone. Also there are way too many choices in one chapter that cost diamonds I couldn’t figure out which choices would actually matter most. Then I couldn’t afford to buy some good choices because I had just bought hair styles and outfits. REALLY... ok then there is the fact that the outfits don’t effect the story that much. But like I said it is a good book that I’m reading also please please more variety like a thriller or a good investigative book or books with romance in it. So the other reason for the poor rating is that after I read this one book there is like only two more books that I am possibly interested and then that’s it I guess I can delete LoveSick unless they add more books with better plots for people who actually like to read something of substance.

Great Stories!

Overall, I love LoveSick. I think the storylines are very engaging. However, choices can be expensive. It’s not a big deal to me as I’ve saved a lot diamonds since I got LoveSick and I only use diamond choices at rare occasions. Sometimes though, I wish I felt that our choices make a bigger impact on the storyline as far as relationships go. Also, it seems as if the same stories keep on getting updated. And while I love these stories, I want to start reading new ones or even continue stories like “Vloggin’ Girls.” Also, I haven’t seen the new option to earn diamonds besides watching ads. Maybe it’s a sort of bug? Please bring back the button option to get any clothes for free. If you are able to accumulate diamonds over time and realize the diamond choices aren’t super impactful to the story line, you should be fine. I’m very pleased with LoveSick overall and definitely recommend it!

Highly addictive

I find myself playing this game before any others and usually twice a day if not more. It gets expensive purchasing diamonds especially when you can’t wait for free ones, and yes I’ve purchased several times. My only gripe now is for the past 4 days I’m no longer able to get my free diamonds, it keeps popping up “ it seems like advertisement providers currently don’t have any video ads for your area. Please try again later. Unfortunately we cannot possibly affect the advertisers or their video display policy”. I find this rather odd since this has never happened before, plus every so often after retrying 4 or 5 times I can get 1or 2 to finally play. Such a shame if I’m unable to play anymore I really like LoveSick and don’t want to switch to any others but I can’t afford to keep purchasing diamonds, at least when I get the free ones I don’t mind making additional purchases to finish a chapter.

Too much $$$ to make good choices.

Are the stories somewhat enjoyable to read and complete? Yes. Are they saucy, sometimes steamy, and catch your interest? Also yes. BUT it costs way too much to actually be interactive and make good selections in the game. I couldn’t even just wear the “original” outfit without it essentially saying I had to change my outfit for the occasion. And in order to move on I had to get more diamonds to get a new outfit and boom. More money spent. I very rarely ever spend money on games but figured I’d try it out during this whole quarantine deal. While the story was long and interactive I’ve already deleted it after finishing the story. Which, one of the endings was so open ended and was a whole plot twist that I replayed the last chapter thinking I clicked ahead and missed something. Nope. Just a Cliff hanger. Too bad they can’t offer ways to earn diamonds more than just 20 for multiple ads being viewed, the occasional one to three between chapters etc. because honestly it hardly adds up enough to get through an entire chapter.

Not enough choices without having to use diamonds

I want to love LoveSick but the fact that you can’t even make a decision close to what you want unless you use diamonds is ridiculous. Like one scene I had to choose that my character fart which was completely random bc I didn’t have enough diamonds to give a response!! So dumb. Or you can’t be nice to someone so they end up getting offended or whatever so it doesn’t really give you the option to create your own story like it portrays. Also you have to use them to buy clothes otherwise you can’t change at all and disappoint everyone on top of it and there are sometimes where they will ask you to change like 3 times in 1 chapter! It’s impossible not to have to spend money to enjoy and the packages aren’t even worth the money...not to mention it says the more you buy the better deal and if you do the math it’s not true!

It WAS decent...

The stories are all kiddie stories and even if they are a tad bit more adult, it’s still censored for a 13 year old. Not only that but the limited amount of content on this platform is still sad two years later. Nothing’s really interesting. In fact the only reason I kept LoveSick was to collect the daily tokens.. which now has been brought down from earning 20 a day to 10. Which is another reason why I’m giving this such a low rating. It was already crappy enough without you taking away the gems we’re earning to play the crappy stories. My advice? If you want an awesome interactive story game, go check out chapters. (Even choices is better than this.) But chapters gives me everything I want and more in a book. No censoring, no making something PG- it’s just awesome stories that have been either created by chapters, or created by a real author and brought to the chapters platform. I’m done wasting my time with LoveSick. I probably won’t delete it just in case I ever want to use the diamonds I’ve collected, but I won’t be actively playing it anymore. Y’all lost me with this last change.

Amazing

In all honesty LoveSick is amazing; they really put great efforts when it comes to writing the stories and the graphics. Also, while there are many complaints from others about the diamonds and keys spent, I think people forget that LoveSick isn’t created by one person and therefore needs to make a profit to pay the various employees livable wages. There’s an option earn 20 diamonds daily and if you collect them daily between then the new episode releases, you’re able to read two episodes from the new release free and that’s much better than other similar apps. Great job to the developers, please keep up your hard work. And to anyone reading the review, give LoveSick a try and try to read the stories at a reasonable rate if you don’t want to spend money

Almost Perfect

While you need a lot of diamonds thanks to the daily free videos and such it’s really easy to get them and always get the best choice as long as you have a bit of patience. Right now I’m REALLY into Modern Bachelorette and I love the story and characters. The only reason it isn’t 5 stars is because you don’t get much of a choice of customizing your characters facial features and skin tone, and hair is a bit limited. It’s also a bit annoying that in order to get new hair you have to use diamonds meanwhile changing hair doesn’t seem to give you any better options, and even if it did you’d have to use more diamonds. The clothing I get since that does unlock more choices and improve other characters perspective of your main character, but again the extra choices you have to use even more diamonds for. I wish it had the customization options if episode, then it would be PERFECT!

Cool App

I just started using LoveSick so I’m still reading the first recommended book. I really think it’s better than LoveSick Choices, I like that you can gain diamonds from your choices in the story, when you complete a chapter, by watching the ads and the daily. What’s bothering me is you have to use diamonds each time you need a good outfit to accomplish a mission, instead of having the option to go in your closet and use already purchased items if you don’t have enough diamonds. Like the already purchased hair option. The diamonds are expensive and you use a lot during the purchase at least 21 SHEESH! The other thing is the 2 keys and you having to wait 2 hours, this is a really long time especially when the story is good. Yes they is a way to get keys from a choice you make and you can purchase 5 extra, but not everyone reading has money like that. Overall, great reading thus far :)

Great but expensive

First, I love the stories. They’re truly interactive, have great choices and original plot lines with unpredictable twists. Kudos to the writers and developers!
Secondly, I have no problem supporting a game financially. I understand that you all would like to be paid for your hard work, whether that be ad revenue or monetary payment from customers. I hope that you’ll take this point into account when I write my criticism.
This game is very expensive. I spent $50 to get through 2 incomplete stories, while also fully utilizing the free diamonds from ads and daily bonuses, and still couldn’t afford the diamonds to select the choices or outfits necessary.
250 diamonds, priced at $20, is enough to make choices for about 2-3 chapters depending on how stingy you are with your diamonds. If you want different hair, you won’t even make it that far. I would bet that pricing your diamond packages more competitively would increase overall sales due to increased satisfaction and better “bang for your buck” mentality. Using the 250 diamond package, and with the average choice being about 20 diamonds, that equates to $1.60 per choice.
That is too much, especially for your target audience.

You have SUCH great content. Please reconsider your rates so that you can retain paying customers. I’d love to continue supporting LoveSick.
