Cooking Fever Duels: Food Wars Reviews

I’ve played Cooking Fever for years. Here are my criticisms of this new game:
1. None of my upgrades in the old game transfer here.
2. When you bake a cake (bakery), by the time it’s done, the customer is gone and you have to throw it away! I couldn’t serve any cakes, only drinks.
I’ll be deleting this game until these issues are fixed.

This game is very “sticky” meaning when you try to put the condiments on or grab a plate or move a food item, it’s SO hard. You have to go back three times and re-pickup items. So annoying when the play time is already impossible.

Being that the game is super new, I expected issues. It needs a patch update, because…
- Sometimes the loading screen lags and it throws you into a match, giving the person you’re playing against a head start in the round
- There's a lag in moving objects from the serving station

I suggest…
- Adding a way to exit a match once it starts but giving players a 10 second penalty or something for leaving, just to give players the option to leave matches
- Adding a way to play against friends for points
- Adding a Casino, like in Cooking Fever for more ways to get those gem things

It’s great to participate

I thought this would be more fun than it actually is. Even with upgrading kitchen items, it seems impossible to get dishes out quick enough. It’s literally a blink and you’ll miss it for some customers

Do not waste your time with this game. Terrible.

We need Chinese

I love cooking fever so I was happy to see this new app. I figured it would be something like the duels in the old Restaurant Dash app but instead it’s just a cash grab. CookingFeverDuels consistently matches you against people so far ahead of you in ranking points and upgrades that there’s no way to win without spending large amounts of money. No skill involved- if you pay big money to get your equipment fully upgraded, you win. There’s no guaranteed way to get boosts without buying bundles either. You might win one or two if you can manage to level up but that’s rare. Overall it’s just not much fun.

Alright so basically if you haven’t played this game yet, it’s cooking fever but you actually cook against other players. Like there will be customers and you have to cook and serve the foods faster than your opponent, gaining you a location rating for wherever you’re at (if you play at the fast food restaurant for example, and if you keep winning against other players, your location rating will increase, but if you lose it’ll decrease) and it’s the same for each restaurant. It’s really fun if you’re a competitive person and enjoy trying to get to the top of tournament leaderboards, although there are a few things that bug me. First of all, none of your upgrades, coins or diamonds transfer to this game even tho it’s basically the same, meaning you have to go and upgrade everything again. On the topic of upgrades, upgrading has changed a bit since there are 3 new currencies that you can use to upgrade things (and you don’t use gems to upgrade equipment anymore) but that’s not the issue. The issue with upgrading is that it’s actually much harder to gain coins than it is in the original cooking fever, and it’s hard to upgrade things because now you have to upgrade something like 10 different times before it’s maxed out, unlike cooking fever where you only have to upgrade it 3 more times.

It’s also hard because the new currencies in the game are kinda hard to get, and it doesn’t seem like anything is really helping you unless you upgrade everything to the max. Although there are some good things, like you can add friends, chat with them, and have friendly duels. They have these food themed avatars that you display yourself as during your time playing the game, and in my opinion they’re pretty cute. You just have to progress in the game to unlock more of them. You get to choose your name and everything so you basically have a whole profile. There’s also 3 boosters you can use during matches that are pretty easy to get once you get the hang of the game. I haven’t exactly “beaten the game” yet so I don’t know everything there is to know about it but if you’re reading I hope it aids you in your decision of downloading this game.

I have been playing Cooking Fever for years, and it is still fun. This game, however, is not. No matter how many upgrades I get, I’m matched against players who wipe me out, with reactions so fast I find it hard to believe they aren’t AI. And when I look at the upgrade menus and see how much work it would take to level my restaurants up, and think how it would still be matching me with opponents who would clobber me—it’s not worth it. Uninstalling.

The promotional item that buys for both games do not link out.

It would easier to play if the games were all in one app

Too busy, complicated, can’t find the level boards.

I like that the restaurants are the same as cooking fever. Only complaint is that dragging an item to where u want it to go quickly needs major improvement. It’s wanting u to be way too accurate. If u get the hot dog anywhere near the bun, it should go in. Ur trying to go fast. Please fix! I’ve offloaded the game and will check back in a few weeks.

Please make it so we are playing ONLY with those that are around our same level/ranking and not with players that are ABOVE us which gives us literally ZERO CHANCE of serving much of anything in the game, let alone winning.

• As just a Review, you may not think is too important. Well my evidence is that I loved playing cooking fever when I was younger, recently I just got back to playing cooking fever again. Then I got introduced to this game, Cooking Duels
• I love the ideas that it makes you become more competitive by making you go against other players. Although, I did encounter a few problems.
• The touch precision is very off point, this game is all about rushing and the horrible touch precision is really affecting the gameplay. It’s very frustrating when you give the costumer the food and just the tiniest distance from the customer can prevent the meal from going to the customer, which gives the other team an advantage with giving them the food.
• The opponent selecting and sorting is unreasonable. I am beginner and went against people with 200+ wins. The opponent selecting is crucial to the game. This needs to be fixed, I’m not enjoying the fact that I have to go against high win players when I can just go against someone my level, PLEASE fix this.
• With both the horrible touch precision and going against the high wins players, I feel very stressed when I play the game.
• I rate this game a 3/5, it needs some improvement, but I know you developers will exceed our expectations because you brought to this world the iconic game “cooking fever” 😊❤️ I look forward to the improvements😊

In the beginning of downloading this game, I was excited, because I thought you would get free gems in cooking fever, which luckily I did! However, when I try to message in global chat or in friendliest of social hub, it won’t let me type for some reason. I want to say hi, but it doesn’t let me. Also, whenever I play a match, it always pairs me up with someone WAY higher in rank than I am, which is unfair. Whenever I lose a match, I manage to lose roughly 30 points, even if the opponent is higher in rank, which is also very unfair. Please take these improvements to consideration, and make this game run smoothly. -NiaLenna 🥀

Very cool game, but major thing that needs to be fixed! The touch response is awful. It wants you to be very exact and precise, yet in this one we need to move quick! I can’t count how many times I missed the party into the bun or dragged food to a customer and it wasn’t precise enough. It’s worse than the regular cooking fever. Fix it please. Also, add more opportunities for those boxes that contain coins and tokens! I feel like i’m always lacking coins and the pink tokens! Not as money hungry as cooking fever though which I appreciate. Matchmaking could use some work, i either get someone insanely better or someone way lower.

Keep losing to characters who move way to fast to be able to be human. User experience is horrific. Keep moving objects near plates or people and not having it register at all. The area you need to hit for it to register is too slim, which can be problematic when playing quickly. I do use iPad so larger movements are required, but it’s less of an issue with the regular cooking fever — may be because I can play a little slower. Either way, my movements on an iPad make it impossible to win against what I presume is CPU due to speed or at the very least are people playing on their phone. Really frustrating and disappointing.

I enjoyed playing cooking fever so I figured this game would be just as fun to play. I guess I’m wrong about that. I contacted the people who run CookingFeverDuels on 12/21 and up until this date they have not resolved my issue of me buying a bundle to see if the game was really worth it. All I get are emails telling me they are having tech issues trying to resolve my issue and that’s it no estimated time of when it will be fixed except the first message said about 3 working days. Maybe I need to delete all these games if this is how the service is when having issues with the game.

This is literally the best game in my LIFE! I love this, keep the great work. Kids should play this game(better if there reflex is good)! Anyway glad you read this. Have a Awsome day!

I just love playing this game it’s awesome

THE CUSTOMERS ARE SO IMPATIENT!!! Its almost impossible, soon as you’re about to serve them what they ordered they CANCEL IT within SECONDS of you trying to get it to them !! So it’s a waist of time before handling someone else’s order, PLEASE FIX IT

When I first started playing this game it had levels to complete. Now I can’t find them. Am I missing something?

App doesn’t even open. Some stupid message about a “fatal error”. Clearly someone Asian made this game or there wouldn't be a very poorly written error message popping up. Maybe go to school and learn some English.

This game is not skill based. I just started and you putting me up against people that’s level 200. Sorry but I’m going back to the actual game.

Im a real chef, I played cooking fever since it came out in 2014. This game is an Excellent follow up! Game play is very similar plus a new competitive feel to it! I love it!! Great for any age! Music is great too! Feels like cooking fever with a cherry on top!

I play the other version of this game but, which is very fun, but this one is not so enjoyable I spent money to upgrade but it seems like that doesn’t even help. It’s taking the fun out of the game when you can’t upgrade to beat the other person. Like other reviews said this would be a great game but you have to spend a whole lot of money to upgrade. This game would be perfect if it’s more like the other game except you can go against other players and duel. So if you guys play this game beware of high bargains on this game.

This game is fun, but one major bug is that the game will freeze in the middle of the match. There’s no way to restart the match or to get it to unfreeze unless you close out CookingFeverDuels . By that time CookingFeverDuels says I lost the match and my exp. level is decreased.
