I downloaded it as a try out knowing it was probably a paid one though it doesn’t say that anywhere. Can’t do anything with out it asking you to buy premium, can’t understand how to pull up the grids and make the pattern show when you get a picture loaded and will not let you look through the help section to find out how to do that. Deleted and will not try again

I have used CrossStitch for about a year and I actually really enjoyed it until now. CrossStitch got updated or something but now there are constant adds on the bottom of the screen where the tool bar is used. There isn’t even a way for my to clear it so I can’t even click on my x’s or the grid function without being taken to the add. This is so frustrating and annoying! I’m trying to do a piece that I’ve been working on for a year but now it’s impossible!

I couldn’t even use CrossStitch , at all. You open and it immediately prompts you to upgrade to premium and you can’t close the ad before waiting 30 seconds. Then when you finally get some options, you select upload a pic, then get another ad that plays a video and wants you to interact(another 35 seconds or so. After you close that and try to upload your image CrossStitch crashes forcing you to reboot. Upon opening CrossStitch once again you’re faced with the same process. Unusable, uninstalling. Disappointed.

Despite the poor reviews I downloaded this just to see for myself. I accidently hit on a button to purchase something and due to an inadvertent double tap I paid $10. I have no clue what is even for!

When I contacted support to tell them what happened and that I didn't mean to make the purchase they informed me that they would not do a refund because it was my fault! So much for accidents being understandable. So now I'm stuck with a $10 charge for their garbage.

DO NOT DOWNLOAD CrossStitch! It's not good enough to be worth the trouble and terrible customer service. If I could have given 0 stars I would have.

Many regrets

I was trying to generate a large pattern, but the granularity of the number of stitches is so coarse that I had to go with the largest one to get my desired stitch count. It also took forever (~2 minutes) to generate the pattern. The progress markers are just about unreadable against light colored stitches and are laggy to toggle (takes about a second for one to toggle). The symbols are also blurred almost to the point of becoming blobs, and I even saw one symbol that looked the same as another color’s symbol but was white instead of black. Showing a single color at a time is nice, but doesn’t show anything else in the pattern, not even the bounds, making it hard to tell where exactly the stitches are (I have to keep toggling the color on and off to get a rough idea).

Most of all though is there are too many ads/too long of ads. I would rather pay for CrossStitch than have to endure them.

“Fixed in the nearest update” -> proceeds not to fix it. Don’t be fooled if he replies that it will be fixed in the next update - it won’t be. Please don’t promise things you aren’t going to do. I would have docked this another star if I could just for that.

It’s a paid app and it’s super frustrating to download only to realize I can’t even do anything for free. Should be upfront before you download

I couldn’t upload more than two pictures for the free option; I kept getting the premium subscription offer, which I don’t want.

CrossStitch does not allow me to change my canvas size. The only control I have even with a subscription is to change the color. It defeats the purpose of paying for it if I can’t modify a pattern to fit my needs.

I just downloaded this game, I liked it but I wish there was more free ones to do!, most of them, from what I see, are premium!, this is why I give this zero stars ⭐️!, if possible, could you make more of them available to do without having to pay? Thank you 😊

Worked all of 2 minutes!!! Played with one design and would not let me change any thing but pixels. Deleted photo and now won’t let me upload a new one. Keep taking me to the sign up for subscription that requires payment. Deleted app already. Very frustrating!!!!!!

This is a horrible app. I was forced to endure 8!!! ads and I was only o. CrossStitch for under 10 minutes! I was just trying to figure everything out and was constantly bombarded by ads until I became even more frustrated.
CrossStitch doesn't show me a way to choose my own colors and place then where I'd like. That was truly aggravating. Just because the photo is mostly blue, doesn't mean I wouldn't like to change it up and add many more colors.
It to a small pattern over 60 seconds to load. That's just tooo f in this day and age.

Being able to generate a pattern from a photo is great, but after I had tried to switch the photo pattern to a mirror image the colors that CrossStitch picked changed drastically, from the same picture it doesn’t make sense.

Being able to select the specific canvas size or at least showing it in CrossStitch when you are sliding the pixel size selector rather than having to wait for CrossStitch to generate the canvas would be super helpful. Especially since I had wanted my image to have a specific size.

Also the feature that allows you to see just one color is great but it could be made better if you could merge two thread colors into one for when CrossStitch decides it sees a color that isn’t in the actual image.

I took a picture and made it into a pattern then when I did the update it deleted all my work and now have to start over as far as recording my progress on the pattern. The same thing has happened a few times when I have exited the program and tried to get back in it deleted my pattern and had to re add the picture and have it create my pattern all over again. Some of the times the colors have changed or the number of colors which really messes with what I have already done.

I upgraded to the premium version of CrossStitch and ever since whenever I try to generate a pattern with little to no pixelation, CrossStitch shuts itself down after a few minutes and I don’t get my pattern created. I am using large file jpegs to create the patterns from, and thought maybe that was the issue, but I didn’t have this problem using the same files prior to upgrading.

Love the design of CrossStitch and really would love to keep using it and not have wasted $9.99.

CrossStitch is very useful and was working properly, but all if a sudden it started closing CrossStitch when I click on the works in progress Icon. I closed and reopen the application to see it this fixed it but it did not.

The ability to generate patterns from pictures is great, although sometimes the color choice is odd (a black and gray area gets made brown and navy blue?). The biggest issue though is that if you use the function to mark off stitches you have done, anytime CrossStitch has to reload due to it being idle for too long or having been closed or your phone shutting down, you lose all the marks you did previously. (UPDATE: I managed to figure out how to save my progress, even if CrossStitch reloads. It just wasn’t automatic or intuitive. I changed the rating to 3 stars to reflect it.) CrossStitch needs to be made to save that progress. If that is fixed and better color choice is implemented CrossStitch could easily be a 5*.

I got CrossStitch for a project I’m doing for church, and when I got it at first, it didn’t quite meet my expectations, but the developers fixed my problems, and now I would recommend using CrossStitch if you don’t mind the occasional ad.

Overall, it has a great experience for a free app. :)
