WBAY Action 2 News First Alert Reviews

I rarely spend my time bothering to write reviews, and when I do, they are generally deservingly positive. That being said this is easily by far the worst app that I have. Actually make that had - it isn’t worth having on any of my devices any longer. Poor stability, annoying advertising format & presentation, notifications occasionally sync inaccurately with their respective stories, frequently not current, awful layout, customization options are laughable, story posting lacks any discernible order; essentially just frustrating to use if you’re lucky enough to use it without it crashing. To make matters worse WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert now has “for Apple users” buttons. Why release an app that isn’t compatible with one of the two major platforms seamlessly? It is a shame as the WBAY news staff are easily my favorite local source. Unfortunately WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert is not on par with what they’ve done to earn my viewership. Please put forth a stronger effort.

Today I downloaded WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert and different from other reviews this really helped me out because at the time of writing this there is a shooting going on and opening up WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert helped me find out a little bit of information even though the news isn’t on for another 20 minutes.

I tolerated the full page ads in the previous version, because I didn't mind closing a few ads to get content. But this new version is getting deleted from my phone.

Now when you launch the weather, a video ad automatically plays at full volume, despite my phone being silenced. You wait until the ad is over to see content, only to have ANOTHER ad window pop up. Close that one, and you go back to the previous page, which launches the auto-play, full volume video ad AGAIN.

No thanks. It's faster and easier to pull up a weather forecast on any website.

I am beyond disappointed with this news station. I miss reading non biased view points which were to the point and full of facts. Now every time I read an article there are too many adjectives to assign specific identities to ideas in which this is not necessary. I miss the days when we presented both sides of the story and allowed the public to think for themselves. Shame on this broadcast for finger pointing.

The former version was a decent app which I used a lot.
This new version absolutely stinks. I agree with several of the negative comments posted.
I like channel 2 news, but if something doesn't happen soon to revert this, it's going to be deleted from my iphone. It's rediculus to continue using it, with all the extra steps and poor user control!

Since the update, I have yet to load WBAY. All I get is a circle which continually goes around and around and around.....then, I always have to switch over to WFRV or FOX11 to get what I need. WBAY said they have new partners and they are going to get better. I seriously doubt it. I am deleting WBAY from my Air IPad and this time, not coming back! At this rate, would rather listen to MKE news. At least their news is CURRENT.

Ever since I did the last update for iOS I have stopped getting the notifications for breaking news and sports. I have uninstalled WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert and then reinstalled it and that did not help the problem at all.

Stop putting gb packers alerts in the news. I specifically have sports notifications turned off yet every time a packer so much as farts, it’s a news alert. The news is news and sports are sports. Quit conflating the two as I (and I’m sure many others that refuse to take a knee at the alter of marxist blm) could give two sh1ts about the packers.

This used to be my go to app for news but now, every time I try to open a news story, it crashes. I have uninstalled and installed WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert many times as well as updating my phone and restarting my phone. I hope they get this fixed soon. But it’s been a while.

Not everyone in this state wants to hear anything about the packers when we are selecting to view the news feed. If you want packers, put it under sports. There are more important thing going on in the world than off season packers news. There is a BIG world out there!

I recently updated my iPhone to iOS 14.4.2 and ever since that update when I open the WBAY News App, it doesn’t go any further than the splash screen. It stays on that and WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert doesn’t load any further. I hope this issue can be fixed so I can continue to see the latest news from WBAY.

The weather section does not load. It is hit and miss but usually it just says error and no information. I really appreciate the allergy section.

WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert would be okay, were it not for your selling ad space to “Outbrain”. Their ad pops up mid screen, blocking people from reading the articles, literally the ONLY reason people go there. I don’t know what genius thought that partnership was okay, but they should be walked out the door.

I don’t need to know about every single White House COVID-19 briefing. If you want to alert me after it’s been fact-checked, cool. cool... but let me turn off that alert, for the love of God. I don’t care to hear conspiracies or bragging about the ratings of the briefing.

Have enjoyed WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert until recently. Every time I go to read a news story WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert closes and I am unable to read to story.

WBAY seems to take every opportunity to post any story of questionable relevance if it slams Trump. But if you only got your news from WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert you wouldn’t even know Hillary Clinton exists. I generously gave 2 stars for the sports and weather sections.

The incessant (same old) ads are terribly annoying. Since the last update, it shuts down as soon as the news portioned is accessed. The weather portion is not designed well and the radar is hard to access and read. Deleted.

iPhone 6 has latest update. WBAY app is latest update. When I open app and touch the news pane, WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert crashes every time. The other panes will open. At this point I would rather not have WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert . Annoying to say the least!

Not as bad as the last version. Still awful, though. Ads everywhere, loads slow, too busy on the home screen. Just look at some of the other news apps if you really want to see a good layout.

Don't bother downloading this version- takes too long to load. The old app was faster, easier to navigate than the so called updated new version. I use to use the 2-3x a day, now it is not worth 1x a week.

I can look at WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert or the weather specific one while watching the live version on tv and they never are even close to matching up. Shouldn’t WBAYAction2NewsFirstAlert and the live version be fed by the same information? Which is more accurate?
