My Gym Reviews

Full disclosure; I only played this “game” as part of a rewards program that required me to get to level 19 in this game. So I wasn’t going in for fun. However, all of the other games I played for the same program were much more enjoyable than this.

Every free mobile game is inevitably going to have something to enable the developers to make money, such as in-game ads or monetized in-game resources. I don’t mind when a mobile game does this to a reasonable extent, but this one goes overboard and ruins the entire experience. This game does both of those in such excess that there’s barely any time to play the game itself between watching hundreds of unsolicited ads, which then lead into more ads with false endings and fake X or Skip buttons involved.

Leveling up in the game is nearly impossible after the first ten levels without shelling out hundreds of real world dollars to obtain the proper in-game resources to proceed. I’ve spent over two weeks attempting to reach level 19, getting constantly stonewalled by the game attempting to either sell me something or show me another horribly-acted ad for another awful game they produce.

It’s a shame, since the game would be actually enjoyable without all this pandering. The developers are clearly greedy and uninterested in creating a fun experience. Avoid this one at all costs.

I’ve been playing this game for a long time and enjoyed it. I found it very relaxing, but I liked the challenges as well. A while ago, their ads stopped running. These ads are crucial to completing daily activities, and they offer nice prizes. After an update today, the game took away a lot of my progress. Where I could have 28 clients before, now I’m back to 21. I deleted and reinstalled the game, hoping this would fix it. It turns out the game never connected to anything to back up the progress. So now all the progress that I’ve made is completely gone. I do not recommend even messing around with this game. I’m very frustrated and very irritated. I have lost my purchases, as well as my progress. In addition, trying to contact them through the game will get you nowhere except to a message that says that something went wrong. There are a lot of things wrong with this game.

I’ve been playing for a month or so and enjoyed it, however the newest update just made me delete it. When you complete a task, an ad pops up, and the X’s on the ad don’t work so I have to force quit the game to get back to where I was. On top of that, the storage is severely lacking in the game. It should increase every level you hit, you shouldn’t have to buy more storage. Also the trainers don’t do their job well, they pick the hardest thing to do for the members. When something could be accomplished in 2 minutes (2 ab workout) they choose the one that is for 30 minutes, and sometimes they don’t even work when MyGym is off!! After being away for 8 hours my trainers only did 1 thing!!

While I’m here, the juice bar takes WAY too long to make a drink. 45 minutes for 1 drink?! I think the max should be 3-5 minutes.

Too many ads and unfair pricing of equipment. Then, if you can’t afford the equipment, clients come in asking to use equipment you don’t have. There is no way of making over 10 fit bucks in an hour. Let alone the 20 to 30 ones it costs to do most of the things you need or want to do. Like expanding the gym or speeding up a workout or building equipment faster. Its crazy that one long ad only gives you 1 fit buck. You can make it at least 3. There are plenty other uses of ads that you can squeeze that revenue from. Also the fitbucks are glitchy. I will have more than enough to request a new client and it will say “not enough” and I have to close and reopen MyGym a million times to use my fit bucks. Also you will waste your fit bucks on a client and then it turns out, you can’t afford the equipment they are looking for. Also the trainer is pretty useless and too expensive. This was making me so mad but no one would care enough for me to rant about it so I might as well make a review.

Edit: literally just stopped working and will not load when I am close to level 23

The game lures you into thinking leveling up and buying machines is fair, but the prices and wait time skyrocket immensely. It’s to an unfair levels where it takes several real life hours to make a drink where you get a measly few coins that can’t even cover 1/10th of the cost of a machine. also the wait time for people going into your gym is so stupid, especially when someone comes in to work out on equipment you don’t even have. why would they even come?! wastes time and customer space. the pricing of the machine increases exponentially after like the first 3. it’s not even a slow climb, it’s immediate and sharp. prepare to spend hours of your life only to increase by 1/5th of a level and accomplish absolutely nothing. want to watch ads to speed things up? you’ll get one in game dollar. hurray.

This game is pretty fun to be honest and can occupy you for a while. BUT it’s not worth the constant (and I mean constant) ads that pop up. You will be in the middle of something and boom an ad. You can also watch ads to earn rewards and I like to do that and will do that. So they get plenty of people I’m sure that will watch tons of ads by their own choice. But it gets so unbelievably frustrating watching an ad for a reward and before you can do anything else…. Boom another ad (for no reward). It gets really overwhelming and sometimes has made my game glitch because I am in the middle of selecting something and the ad comes up. Please make it so you have a choice to watch the ads, because I promise people WILL. But forcing them constantly on people will slow them delete the game (like I will be doing).

They blast you with ads and a lot of the time you get no credit for watching. You can leave for 8+ hours and trainer haven’t train any of the clients and developer will give you some bs about combo and it taking longer then you think. But 12 clients training and not 1 finishes. It a glitch and they are to lazy to fix. But the pop ads all the time is the major annoying thing about game. Mostly when you do the task of watching a video and get no credit for the task or get a pop up ad so you have to watch 2 ads. They just forcing ads on top of each other to fund themselves and give no thought to players. Waiting on drinks or training athletes in sport club have horrible wait time. You can’t even but sport equipment to train multiple athletes becuase of wait time on them as well. This is hurry up and wait and watch ads game. Pass on this and find something you get to enjoy.

This game is not worth the time unless you want to spend most of the time watching ads than actually getting to play the game. I delete this game off my iPad for the following reasons, problems or issues: 1. Takes too long to build new equipment 2. Don’t get enough money from customers after they complete their exercise(s). Some exercises take longer than others and still don’t get enough money for them. 3. Too many ads. An ad plays every 30 seconds-1 minute. Ever time I try to do something in the game an ad has to be played before I can do anything. Spend most of the time watching the ads than actually getting to play the game. 4. Equipment and decorations costs too much 5. Don’t get the items to expand fast enough 6. Takes for ever to level up on the gym style. When you do level up the gym style you only get 1 new customer when there is an obvious line of customers outside of the gym.

I don’t ever ever ever write a review for games but this game made me want to scream. You start quite nicely, the leveling up is chill and getting equipment is cheap but the moment you hit level 10 everything goes exponentially highhhhjh while the rewards you get remain the same low. For level 10 you need almost 5000xp but your only getting like 6 or 7 from the actions your doing not to mention the time that they’ll be done in also goes up super higher, buying anything also gets super duper expensive at one point I was playing for 5 days straight just to go up a level. I would not get this game there are farrrrrrr better simulator games out there that’ll be far worth your time. I only decided to play this as a mission for a different app and I usually enjoy games like this but the amount to grinding you have to do makes this more like a chore than an enjoyable game. I can’t bare to play another day of this.

Game is horrible. I only downloaded it complete a deal. After the first hour the game is insanely hard and time consuming. Customers come in wanting to workout on a machine i don't even have and cant afford due to the few measly coins i gain after waiting minutes for them to be done with one workout. I try to kick them out then i have to wait even longer for more customers to come back. You gain little to no EXP and it takes multiple real life hours. Ads don't even help, there is an ad literally after every 5 minutes and when i try to click a button it plays an ad. As soon as i open the game an ad plays?! Watching an ad for money is useless as well. Omg “1” dollar thats so helpful. How am i supposed to progress when I'm gaining 50 coins and 12 exp while new machines cost 7k and to level up once i need 9k exp. Game is garbage and needs to be updated.

They finally added another event so you’re not just waiting for hours for people to finish a drink. Now you can actually compete in sporting events which is kind of neat. However, I just realized they nerfed all the sell prices for items. For example, you used to be able to sell an apple for 25 gold and you got an apple a minute. It was a slow burn but it helped you get what you needed gold wise. Now they’ve changed it and apples are only worth 5 gold so it will take much longer to get what’s needed. Apples aren’t the only item either, it seems like everything has been lowered in value. The developer should be making bukoos of money from all the ads you get hounded with. I don’t see why they feel the need to make the game more frustrating in a shameless attempt to get you to spend money on it.

Wait times for everything is just way too long. I’ve seen from old reviews that its been a problem for years. I just started playing the game and i’m level 13 and it already feels super long for customers to finish their workouts, I couldn’t imagine how long it would take 10 levels from now.

Another thing is the prices and materials. It already takes about 10k coins to buy anything and it takes awhile to get 10k. The storage for materials honestly shouldn't have a max, you should be able to hold way more than 30-40 materials. I know you have to upgrade it but it takes materials that I can’t even get, it’s a game you pretty much have to spend money on to progress unless if you wanna play for years really.

I’ve also completed some of the trials and it didn’t give me a single reward for the ones that I finished.

This game is just too much of a grind for me. Theres very little progress for a lot of time played. This game could be way better if the wait times were way shorter and everything was a bit cheaper so you don’t have to spend money to progress.

I think this game has potential and it’s fun, but I’m giving 2/5 stars because I can’t even enjoy the game without an ad popping up. We don’t even get anything for watching the ads. All I’m doing is getting someone on the machine that they need to go on and BOOM ad right in your face. It’s very annoying. If there was some kind of option where players can earn money or coins in exchange for watching the videos, then I think that would be better. Some games have “special” people that come into the store and offer you coins or money in exchange for watching the video and you can either say yes or no. I think something like that would be a good idea for the next update. I actually ended up removing the game because I can’t stand all the ads, but I’d definitely redownload in the future if there was some kind of reward for watching the ads.

Like the concept of this game, graphics are ok, but really, really hate the fact that after spending 40 bucks after downloading game within the first few hours, I got a premium pass that minimally gives me small rewards , every two levels instead of each level like most premium passes of 20 bucks, and am now stuck, can’t go any farther unless I want to wait 5 and a half hours, or spend more money for a exercise machine that every client just so happens to be waiting for and won’t use other machines at all stopping all profit/progress on all fronts, then your storage gets full due to all the fruit gathered, leaving absolutely no other option but to spend more, after spending 40 or more, puts a nasty taste in my mouth and only feeds my dislike of this game and those profiting, in reality, these were meant for children, and adults are full of greed finding any avenue to feed off of others, it’s disgusting, and that’s real life

I like the concept of this game and some of the execution. I don’t even mind the wait times everyone complains about. What I do mind is that it feels like almost every time I do something after a pause, I’m hit with an ad before I can finish. Sometimes, I will watch an ad to speed up a wait time and it will play most of the ad (sometimes they are a full minute) and then crash MyGym and I don’t get credit for watching.

Other games I have played with ads offer an option to purchase ad-free experiences and I would consider that. I am lvl18, more than halfway to 19, and if I were not getting cash back from swagbucks for leveling, I would have quit a while ago.

The other thing reviewers have complained about, which I absolutely agree with, is you need new equipment before you can afford it sometimes. I’ve had two customers in my gym for at least three real world days because I cannot afford the equipment they want. You cannot make enough money to do all the things available in this game. Maybe if you maxed out some things you could, but what would be the point then?

I love the concept of this game. I’ve become addicted but it’s multiple things that take way to long. The juice for instance shouldn’t take 40 minutes to make and 30 minutes to wait for some oranges. Also some of the workouts take a while. However I can understand waiting for those, what I cannot stand is the constant ads. Literally every few clicks there’s another ad. They already offer to watch the ads for bucks, they offer some ads to boost the time for some of the workouts, and for the spin the wheel. So it literally should not be an ad as soon as you open the game, collect coins from 3 people and another ad. One ad said it was 15 seconds, the same ad then went to 30 seconds when the timer ended, then when that timer ended it went to 15 seconds again without an X button anywhere to skip it. I can understand having ads here and there but it becomes ridiculous. It makes me want to stop playing the game but other than that the game itself is good. I love being able to train them and choose their workouts and design the gym the way I want to.

I agree with other reviewers that the wait time is ridiculous! Also it is so hard to get coins to buy new equipment, which is outrageously expensive! Not to mention the second the new equipment becomes available customers come in requesting it and I have to show the customer the door and wait 20 minutes for another customer because I can’t afford the equipment. Also there should be an option to cancel the session with the trainer. I accidentally clicked it without realizing that the customer wanted a machine I didn’t have and now they’re stuck and I can’t train anyone else. I have had MyGym for a couple weeks and already see myself playing it less and less I will probably delete it in a few weeks. Just a warning for all MyGym is very addicting and hard to put down, when I do play it I get sucked in for hours at a time. Overall it is a very fun game, there are just a few adjustments that need to be made.

I like it well enough; I uninstalled the game and installed it again so I bought another pack again because I enjoyed it so much. Just shows how hard it is to play without spending money but I wish I hadn’t had to buy the back again. But getting necessary materials for building, expansion, upgrades, and anything else I missed is actually very very annoying. It’s hard as your storage fills up fast and you can’t possibly keep up, or so I’m finding. Drinks and fruits should definitely be separate. It doesn’t bother me per se, but it would also be nice if the equipment had different color mats that coincided with the body part or were just different colors in general. Having them all be purple is kind of bland. Greater variety of decor; I don’t really like there are many options regardless of payment type. I also agree with a pp who mentioned having slightly reduced workout times, but it doesn’t really bother me. Seriously though, materials needs to be more easily obtainable. Storage is 😤

Really like the game & I find myself not wanting to stop playing it, however, it’s frustrating. I’ve dwnld this game several times before & have deleted it because I get frustrated with the wait time. I’m not one of those people who will spend tons of real $ to make things better in the game. For all games I dwnld, I usually have a $2-$5 budget to get extra things & refuse to pay more for anything after that. It usually takes me about 3-4 weeks of daily play before I decide to delete. When I see that I have to wait 45 minutes for a drink to finish its frustrating. I had a “customer” ask for several drinks, his drink “order” came out to over 2 hrs before all drinks were finished. I mean, really?

Upgrading equipment is a whole other thing. It requires a tool you can only get in one place & I don’t see the difference in upgrading. How about the equipment upgrades by each use it gets? Or, being able to obtain that necessary tool easier? Or, when you upgrade an equipment it takes less time for someone to complete the task? Am I the only one that sees things getting completed in a reasonable amount of time as a motivator to continue playing the game?

I’m playing the game less & less now as I approach my 3rd week. Indicating that I will eventually stop playing it. As I said, I like the game, & I want to continue to play it, but please developers, can we please do something about these wait times?

I love this game and it's a nice version of the Dream Gym thing without the trainer. The challenges are awesome and the skipping the last 30 sec For free workouts is really cool. My only complaints are the amount of resources it takes to move forward. There should really be some way to purchase the supplies to expand the gym and sport club with coins - like buying cement and stuff. The price for the machines also skyrocket unfairly - unlocking more sports rooms in the club also takes an unnecessary amount of resources. It's a great game to play but really expensive for no reason. Also have an easier way to make bux. Also maybe no wait time for challenges and juice? Like it's juice, man. Takes like 30 seconds not 3 hours. This game is original though and I love it so thank you guys for all your hard work
