I had this game for quite a while and dedicated a lot of time to it, I was sitting around 1600 infamy but my brother and I started to notice that the matchmaking just felt rigged, I’m not a sore loser but when you get in with a team that has two people floating in the back(disconnected or whatever)and your other team mates can’t hit the broad side of a barn, but the enemy team are all hitting dead on with every shot, it gets frustrating. Or when you get in a match where the entire enemy team has nothing but mortars and your whole team just has cannons. I started to feel that the game was rigged to keep you from advancing too much too quickly and began looking at other people’s win to game ratio and noticed that even the #1 player in the world is sitting just barely above 50%, nearly every player you look at their profile and they’re right close to 50% wins to games played, this tells me it’s rigged. Coincidence? I don’t think so. If it’s not rigged then why do they not allow you to team up with more than one other person?(they may have changed this since I deleted the app). I believe they don’t want you getting in with your friends who are all good players and winning too much, the game wants to keep you at 50% wins to keep you invested in the game enough to keep playing and paying into it to try and get getting stuff. I’m done with it, one start from me.

Update: I have played this game a lot & there really is no benefit except you earn more loot. Unfortunately there is a randomness to everything you receive (weapons, perks, loot, etc), & this is true even if you spend a lot of money. This game is very $ driven & there are players who have literally spent thousands of dollars. I don't mind being patient & earning things, but in 10 months I am still many months from earning my first of the highest level of weapons. Again, the game can be fun, but the rewards are minimal. You can put in a lot of effort but the rewards are very disappointing.
Original comment: This game can be fun, but the pairing algorithm is faulty & often teams are mismatched. The advantage seems to be for those who spend $ and invest in better weapons, etc. It gets very frustrating when you seem to reach a certain level, but then can't get beyond that. You lose more than you win & it's difficult to get back to where you were. When you finally get there, you start losing again. I'm not the most accomplished player, but when one team has higher level players with better weapons, it's not fun for either side.

I currently have 600+ battles. I can tell you this game can be fun, but in the end is more frustrating. Boats are matched based on “infamy” rank. Basically a scale that follows battles won. Win and infamy goes up, loose and it drops. This matching is all wrong. Wrong, wrong, wrong. And others have been reviewing this same problem for some time so the developers are not going to change it. Boats need to be matched based on how strongly they are outfitted. Low infamy players can have epic outfitted boats, because they paid real money, matched against other low infamy players with basic weapons. It doesn’t work. It’s fish in a barrel. And unless the fish pay real cash they will get creamed over and over. Frustration. But a money maker for developers as players shell out real cash in frustration just to try to build their boats to a level that they don’t get creamed over and over. Watch out for the 200 infamy mark. Crossing it pits you against jacked up boats as high as 400 infamy. Only to be crushed back down the ladder to under 200. Then you will climb again and cross over only to be kicked back down. It becomes a yo yo and you will realize it’s more frustrating than it’s worth. Another reason infamy matching doesn’t work. Developers can solve this black mark on the game. Create algorithms that match boats based on similar weapons level and maybe it might be a fair game and actually be more fun than frustrating.
