Kudos to the musicians and sound designers who participated in the creation of KingofFM. There’s literally something for everyone. I’m not a musician or sound designer. I’m a biologist interested in the sonification of plants via stomatal conductance. KingofFM works pretty well. However there may be a bug in the recording function. Sometimes the record function doesn’t take.

When I heard that KingofFM was being released, I had very high hopes for it. KingofFM/synth did NOT disappoint. I’ve been working with it, for about two hours, and I’m hearing all of the sounds that I grew up with. (I was a teen, in the 80’s, and this was my music!) For instance, the preset “DX Bass 1’ is the exact bass, used for the song “Danger Zone”. As soon as you hear it, you’ll instantly recognize it. There’s just so many iconic sounds!!! If you’ve ever wanted a DX7, like I have, and didn’t want to pay collector’s prices for one… Now, you can!!!

You may be asking yourself, “How can an app, this true to the synths, that it’s trying to emulate, be free?” Because of the immense generosity of Analog Matthew. If you enjoy KingofFM, please review it, and leave him some kind words!

I Made the purchased out of Curiosity - All these sounds for the Low - Once I dabble into the presets I was like holdup - these sounds are the Bang for the Buck - I Salute the Sound Designers - One question though when I purchased KingofFM - it said Lifetime License - Does that mean I can use the sounds in my production Royalty Free Lifetime - Please Clarify.

I love finding new piano apps that have a lot of cool synth sounds, and I love this one. It can be very buggy at sometimes, and the dark mode piano thingy gives me a headache (I changed it) but overall this is a 10/10 app, sound wise.

Glitch or bug in program where I’m unable to sync other applicators towards keyboard synthesizer. Before I had no issues in sharing applications simultaneously to create unique vibes or even samples. Crashes upon activation of program, not sure if program is equipped to work with other applicators or just only meant for specific ones when it comes to content creations. Aside from that it has been a great tool and add on for on-the-go use or just simply working from home. The extensive amount of features are overwhelming but in a good way. Many viable options that would suite your needs and make your creations even much more unique. Perfect for all sorts from protégés to advance professionals. Hope new sounds would be introduced in the near future.

This is the best app I’ve used since caustic the sounds and presets are definitely top of the line if you can’t produce something awesome or dope from KingofFM then just keep trying I give it two thumbs up amazing job they did thanks again to all of you guys and gals who made this available to everyone greatly appreciated

What a great collection of classic sounds and features. I love the chorus especially, and the sequencer which can be applied to parts individually.

If your independent artist, and you do some of your own mixing and mastering, this is a must have this upset me from sounding Ronchi to well well, I must say you must listen to my new single on, and on by AyeitsTwin thank you

I started the first midi studio in Sacramento California in 1985 with the first Macintosh, Performer version 1, and all of the Yamaha synths and Roland Synths and samplers that were available at that time. The tonal qualities of what you have created with KingofFM goes far beyond anything that existed when the Yamaha synths came out.

Others have left detailed reviews so I won’t go into too many details. Suffice to say that this is by far the most useful keyboard plugin or self contained iPad synth app that I have ever used. I’m shocked that it’s free but I’m sure not complaining.

I may be the only one experiencing this problem but when I try to play sequence sounds in beat maker 3, it doesn’t play anything. I uninstalled KingofFM and reinstalled it and it still has the same problem.

App is 5 stars tho. Love the sound it gives.

Crazy helpful tool for learning sound design, I’m very impressed with the sound quality and the ability to record directly into the files on your phone to drop into your mobile DAW, I use FLStudio Mobile and the compatibility is fantastic, great job!

Each sound is so nice, crisp, and precise. It sounds like you're sitting in front row seats!
I'm not a pro at creating music at all, but I found KingofFM easy to use.
You can tell when an App Creator devotes his time and hardwork into ensuring what he is putting out is at the highest level of quality it can be.

I'm 71 years old and still own an original Yamaha DX7 which I occasionally use as a sound module with my MOXF8. I have installed KingofFM on my iPad, connected it to my MOXF with a Roland UM-ONE, ran the Ipad 4 audio out back into the MOXF A/D in (using the MOXF's built-in effects routed to the A/D in), and disabled FM KING's effects (which slow midi response slightly) and now have a great Ipad sound module for layering the classic FM tines sound with my piano for live performance and recording.
Now to figure out how to disable midi program changes . .

KingofFM is super fun for a silly, nubie like myself to mess around with, and yet is powerful enough to make some really killer music. I can hand this to a 5 year old and they will have fun, but I could see it being used in professional music studios. Just incredible and, for that price, you can't beat it!

A wonderful piece of work! This propels iOS music making even further! And this developer will undoubtedly inspire future iOS endeavors! When someone questions the ability and power of my mobile Studio this will be the first thing I break out! Thank you for such awesome and dedicated work. 10 Stars!

I love KingofFM because it’s simple to use on a glass screen, and it works well with my midi interface. I have noticed that your collective of apps all have different modules in each one. Would there be a way to have a central app, and have the modules be the downloadable content for the one app. I love this particular app the best so far.

I remember playing around with the DX-7 back in college in the early 90s. I didn't like it as much as my Roland D20, but I could appreciate the difference in type of sound FM mod made vs the PCM in the Roland. Now the sound is totally nostalgic! And KingofFM totally does it justice. And for free!! If you're a synth head like me, and especially if you're into retro sounds, definitely get this!

This has got to be the best sounding synth I’ve heard come out of the AppStore. When you start deleting all your other synth apps because this one has everything you been looking for ….That’s when you know .
Great Developers here // ,..I’ve paid for other expensive Keyboard apps and I still love the Sound of all my AudioKit apps more….

The AudioKit synths are my go to when I just need an instrument to to start a project - fast, easy to use, and great big and wide sounds. This one is free and has enough power and customization to compete with a lot of paid apps. It’s also really easy to create your own presets without having to study FM synthesis. On top of that it’s just plain fun. Top pick.

You must have learned it’s so much more gratifying to give than receive. A masterpiece of sounds, many much better than my paid for apps and even VST instruments. Thank you, is a understatement to say the least. I am a Professional who has been writing music for forty years. That’s not ego speaking, that’s a compliment to you for making something very special!

Finally sold my DX7 a few years ago and regretted it. Bought it in 1985 or 86 - who can remember anything from back then? But Now! I have it back! Wonderful sounds from all the contributors plus highly usable sequences. I only play for churches (now that I’ve abandoned those earlier destructive days 😉😇), but KingofFM has plenty of sounds I can use with Camelot Pro, KeyStage, and Audiobus. Thank you Analog Matthew and Audiokit!!!

Great layout and even better sounds. Had a DX seven back in the day and brought back memories.

My issue is I can’t get GarageBand to recognize that I have downloaded KingofFM either via my iPhone or iPad. What am I missing?
