I wanted to give VocalImage a shot, so I paid for the first “try it out” period. Although they have a “free trial”, they took $4.99 from my account. But it was fine, I agreed to it. After just a few days I found out that I will not have enough time to do it, so I canceled my subscription 4 days before the trial ended.
To my surprise, the next payment was deducted from my account for the subscription that I cancelled 4 days earlier.
The only thing I can imagine is that their systems are crossed account information between VocalImage Store and their website. By then the system works really badly. I only subscribed through the email you sent me and downloaded VocalImage from VocalImage Store, since there was the button to do that and that’s pretty much the only way to use VocalImage . And if you think about yourself as a fair business you should not operate this way.

The AI used to recognize your voice and match it with a celebrity doesn't work. I did an Al Pacino Scarface impression and it said I sounded like Will Smith… and on top of that they don’t have The King of New York, Christopher Walken as a celebrity. I can't say much else for VocalImage aside from someone rating my voice to be deep and sexy. I think it's just an app to milk a little cash and use AI to grab vocal patterns or something, data scraping. Doesn't seem too legit to me unless I can be proved otherwise.

As many other users noted, the process for signing up for the trial period is kind of tricky. It’s very easy to accidentally sign up for a one year subscription which costs $80. I reached out to Vocal Image and they told me they had no control and advised me to reach out to Apple. I reached out to Apple and they would not refund me. I’m going to try and report the charge as fraudulent on my credit card at this point. Ruins what have otherwise been a great experience.

You start your free trial to test everything out but when you go and click on anything interesting to see how they work it just says “start your 7 day free trial” but then you click on it and it says “you already have a free trial” and then when you click Ok it just resets to show you need a free trial.
I am not going to wait and then spend $80 to see if the content on VocalImage works or not or is actually something that you can use to help understand your voice more to use the other apps features of training your voice.

Hey, decided to give VocalImage a try after being offered a 7 day trial. I started my trial on the 18th and after looking at my account the next day realized I was charged for a year subscription. Incredibly confused and upset and I would like to be reimbursed because I never finished my trial run. The fact that money was taken out of my account before the trial run was over is the reason why I’m giving such a low review. I’ve reached out to apple to see what I can do but right now I’m extremely discontent with my experience with vocal and I’m feeling a bit duped. Please reach back out to me. It seems like your customer service was only extends to email. Would love to talk to an actual human being. Thanks.

I signed up for the “free” trial and was immediately charged for the yearly subscription. It took Apple about a day to refund my transaction, and I sincerely hope they do something about this scammy behavior because I’m apparently not the only person on here who’s experienced this. Bad behavior, and reason enough to not try this product.

The way VocalImage is designed when signing up will trick you into purchase a year account thinking you are only getting a trial. I believe this is by design. I am currently trying to get my money back. Be careful or I would suggest not even bothering using VocalImage.

I signed up for the free trial thinking this would be a cool little thing to try out. I wanted to do the vocal analysis test and see what types of results I got. Interesting stuff. However, that’s all I wanted the trial for. I forgot to cancel the trial, and I can’t get my money back from Apple, or VocalImage itself. I would not suggest doing a trial run of VocalImage if you’re at all forgetful, like myself. Your money will simply be gone. $80 down the drain for something I won’t even use again. Disgusting.

I download VocalImage and decided to check it out since it offered a 7 day trial. Upon agreeing to download it, VocalImage immediately charged me. Seeing that this a common complaint, I emailed the company at the address they’ve continuously provided. No response yet and it’s been a few days. Will be initiating a chargeback once posted. If they refund, I’ll update accordingly

Full screen freezes and won’t let you close tutorial videos. They are charging for a premium, fully functioning product but it breaks down like a 20 yr old Kia.

Don’t you dare put out a beta product and expect your customers to pay to test your product!

Come on developers, get the product working before charging full price!!

Started by requiring free trial sign up . Then drove me through all the plan details. Then required to me the rate five voices before recording mine or showing me anything. I canceled my free trial at this point in just 10 minutes, because I hated the customer experience. Very poor web business strategy. Get the client hooked on the fun and the value and then can charge them continuously over the life of their app use. Professional Web Designer.

I paid for premium (80ish dollars) but was never able to access the premium features. Tech support would email me and sit it was fixed over and over but it never was.

Somewhere along the way I found a screen where I could sign up for premium (after I had already paid the full price) for only half price.

So if you are thinking of getting premium, don’t, but if you say maybe try waiting a few extra days to see if the half price promo pops up.

I understand tech can be glitchy, and usually it’s no big deal, but the whole saying it’s fixed when it isn’t over and over gets tiresome. I just don’t understand why people are so eager to waste everyone’s time (including their own ).

From the very beginning exercise. The instructions are wrong. When you point out to the diaphragm and have the student touch “the chest to feel the diaphragm” is an inaccurate way to articulate an instruction. There is no definition of the mechanical components the body has to articulate with finesse and strength the projection the voice must have to keep the dynamic fluidity of the body in aras of protecting the throat area from extreme collision to provide longevity for the singer. The video for the beginning exercise that shows of a woman making air puffs and sucking air actually deflating the lungs rapidly and sucking the stomach area having no support mechanism.

Only got to do ONE free exercise, why? because they charge you $80 dollors from the start. Like are serious right now? Are you guys trying to not get customers? Im sure that it does work for your voice but the second I saw you only allow access to ANYTHING if you pay the $80. You know what that tells me about your company? That you guys don’t care about helping the customers and y’all are only in it for the money you greedy people. So I guess you guys got what you wanted in not getting customers because there is no way I’m paying $80 for something that should be free access to help everyone in need. Get some help honestly.

I have been trying to improve my voice using VocalImage and I use the Voice Rating section to get what I thought was feedback from real people! I just found out the ratings from other users are mostly FAKE if not all fake! Instead of saying what you’re supposed to for the recording I recorded silence, no noise or speaking whatsoever. I received votes from other so called users stating my voice is Deep, Weak, Confident, thin etc! So they’re rating silence as a deep or Confident voice?? Think about how awful you’d have to be to take people trying to improve their voice and give fake ratings as to how their voice sounds. I could be thinking my voice is great or horrible based on this fake feedback. Imagine someone getting bad ratings and never doing that podcast they planned to do or pursue a dream they intended all because they got poor fake feedback. Extremely disappointed by this! Download the free trial and see for yourself!

Cool idea, but there is no ability to read posted comments on voice samples, only few and strange options for ratings of voices, and a requirement to sign up for an account instead of just using VocalImage . The lessons are wonderful, but VocalImage itself didn’t give any explanation of how the prescribed lessons could get me closer to specific goals, so I didn’t feel confident to subscribe. It is also very expensive to get a subscription so it felt too risky.

It’s garbage that doesn’t allow you to email them, and if you mistakenly switch to another training course out of curiosity- such as the 11 step voice masculinization- it gives you no opportunity to go back and complete the original 4-step basic training as you’re now stuck on a plan you don’t want to spend 11 days on. And if there is a way around it, you can’t contact them.

I picked to masculinize my voice, and before the training it gave me something to say. It rated my voice as more muscular than feminine-- over 50 percent. After I did the training it rated me almost 100% feminine and 2% masculine every time. I tried my best to do the exercises, and I'm positive I did them correctly. I might give VocalImage a little more time but as of now it's not helping.

So no I don’t like to view but I downloaded it I saw you said saying it was $80 to one day. I would like that to be about zero dollars for new people like me I kept on having to I could do anything really I could do maybe one I could do two thanks and that’s all, I would want it to be 10×80 times less expensive take that $80 and multiply it by zero and then will make it zero dollars for new people now I know yeah it’s very good but it’s very pricey. I would like you to lower the pass possibly make it save out dollars make it seven dollars. I will be happy. I will do it again I will write another review saying it will be $5.05 stars because even without paying it, give us pretty good, but like I didn’t like that, you had to pay so much and just pay so much I understand it but I was just like that person be lowered one day it’s too expensive but that’s all. I hope you apply and see that stuff bye.

I paid for premium and I updated the iPad version today now I cannot login to my account… I tried my email address for password recovery and it won’t work with it it said invalid email!
I tried the rolling r for a few minutes I did notice my voice was clearer for a few minutes

Great app! I have really enjoyed using this. It’s giving me more awareness of my voice. Your voice is an instrument and a deep part of your personality, and sometimes we are unaware of how we’re using it. VocalImage is helping me use it the right way.
It could use a few feature enhancements. First, more adjectives are needed to rate other user’s voices, because sometimes, none are relevant.
Secondly, it would be nice if it stored all of your voice recordings in a log, that way you could go back (even back months, years) in time and compare your progress.

App is glitchy and slow, doesn’t seem to always accurately read voice recordings, and has a very limited number of sample passages to read.

Next update needs:
-“Skip this exercise” option
-fine tuning and feedback for lesson choices, should be able to say “these lessons aren’t helping me reach my goal of ______”
-app doesn’t properly track or manage challenges
-graphs and stats on profile usually don’t match the results of the day’s exercises and won’t update for days
-User Interface is stale/outdated and needs an aesthetic overhaul
-app includes challenge and such for feminization and masculinization but offers very little in terms of a wide range of challenges and exercises that will help you improve those areas. Like “here’s 2 or 3 exercises for that” when there should be weeks/months longs program with intricate workout plans/strategies available for those who are dedicated to vocal changes

VocalImage does what it says but when you buy the Trial You are charged 80$ on day one. That alone made me want to give y’all a one star. Also apple wouldn’t give me a refund …. Please fix that ,it’s bad business… But VocalImage did and is still doing wonders for my voice . I’m not new to vocal coaching so VocalImage could be hard for some people to grasp certain concepts … like there a workout where your pounding you Chest and working your vocals. You don’t have to pound your chest but the point is to hear and listen to the vibrations coming from there. Most people would just think it was dumb because it wasn’t really explained before hand lol. Update ok
I see where the problems coming from . We people select the trail it doesn’t offer the monthly one only the yearly one.

Please make it so I don’t have to go through the set up every time I log in. That’s a real downer at the start of every session. No I don’t want to stay logged in. We have access to changing our objectives within VocalImage once logged in.

Please also include more description of the exercises. I know I’m not doing what the instructor is doing with their diaphragm and throat because I just don’t know

I my first lesson before the last time I went to church and someone commented on my voice sounding more resonant. Yay.

the ui is easy navigation, the progress tracking is easy to understand, and reward system for active use to the point. it would be amazing if A filtering system for what’s giving to read was added for people with reading limitations which can come as sounding less confidence.

I originally intended to download VocalImage because I thought that it would be like some thing where you could create things through AI like many of those other apps, but this is actually a very nice surprise as I have been insecure about my voice for a very long time and VocalImage actually does a very good job of helping me lighten up my mood as well as my vocal cords, from helping me boost my confidence a little bit so nice job five stars for VocalImage.👍🏻

VocalImage is the best app I can sing good test my vocal cords and it’s just the best app ever but you kinda do need to make some new updates and you shouldn’t have to pay to try to seem good so that’s all I really wanna write so goodbye

I found VocalImage over a year ago. Since then it has worked wonders for me in terms of having confidence with the way that I speak in the way that I pronounce words.

I had use this to find my very own voice to describe my life experience. I would say this would help you guys whoever has depression this will help find you for who you are in this world that we call reality. So if your feeling down or have depression than VocalImage will guide you to the right way to find your voice. Not a doctor, I once had it. I found my voice thanks to VocalImage.

I’m a non-binary professional voice teacher, n I’m absolutely amazed at how good VocalImage is. While I don’t particularly recommend it for beginners (unless under the guidance of an experienced coach/teacher), I DO recommend it for intermediate n advanced singers/public speakers.

I ESPECIALLY recommend VocalImage for transmasc n masc afab non-binary people, bc it doesn’t put a person into the ‘girl’ box. It just analyzes the voice. For trans femme ppl, I don’t recommend working with VocalImage bc it focuses a lot on deepening the voice, which can create a lot of gender dysphoria unless u r working alongside a teacher who has been trained in voice modification.

I ALSO recommend VocalImage for cis women n men who identify as contraltos n basses! I’m a (non-binary) contralto on the side of tenor who has always been told to talk n sing higher, lighter, brighter. VocalImage WILL NOT force u to do that! It seems to have no considerations of gender whatsoever, n truly allows the voice to sit where it wants to sit!

Tl;dr HIGHLY recommended for professionals n experienced intermediate singers/actors, recommended for beginners under the guidance of a teacher. Recommended for transmasc n afab non-binary ppl, not so much for trans femme ppl unless under the guidance of a teacher. HIGHLY recommended for contraltos n basses!!!!

This is a great app just by recording my voice saying some words I actually had a way better voice than before. This game is really good and you can skip through the trials! I thought you should get VocalImage and only practice your voice saying words. You’ll have a better voice every day like me. Probably………;)

After having my thyroid removed and needing to get my voice repaired, I wondered whether there was “an app for that.” Lo and behold, there was so I bought it. I am only half way through the course but am very impressed by it and already see dramatic improvement.

I just began but already feel that with that app I’m gonna go far more better speacker

VocalImage is great! It lets me monitor my progress and learn at my own pace. The price is totally worth it for the quality and the amount of lessons you get.

The vocal exercises are a breeze to follow, thanks to the helpful timer videos. My voice has definitely gained strength and control with each session.

Vocal Image has amazing features that helped me improve my theatre skills and voice strength. The videos are specific and detailed with excellent graphics. The training plans are easy to follow and are the perfect length to make sure I could get it done each day! I’m so thankful!

Interested training. I didn’t know whether this was going to be placebo or actual training- after a week, it seems to be the latter. I’m pleased to find an app that focuses on strengthening the voice, diaphragm, and face muscles through a variety of exercises. I’ve paid for the full year and hope to see continued increases in confidence- work related, and otherwise
