Need International roaming to use HDFC bank app

Last month I opened NRE and NRO accounts with HDFC bank. I received required information to access HDFC bank App. The previous version was working with OTP based system but this new update ask to send pre-composed message to Indian number which requires international roaming, which is quite expensive and you have to keep it active because you never know when you need it again. So for new customers, do not go for HDFC NRI accounts if App access is critical for you. I still have to open PC because HDFC website pages are full with multiple advertisements which makes it very slow and need to very careful while clicking in phone browser. It is a nightmare to open HDFC website in a phone. It is extra work for me so I decide to close my both accounts and go with some other bank which at least can provide basic online banking facilities with App and doesn’t require extra TIME and money.

Disappointing

I’ve multiple banking accounts and have never seen such unfriendly banking app for mobile. Firstly, there are tons of bugs in your app. Talking about Touch ID, can’t you just provide access through just phones Touch ID, seriously? Here go and check Deutsche Bank app or Sparkasse bank. Let’s talk among private banks in India, please learn from iMobile app of Icici bank and flexibility they give to their customers especially NRIs. I mean your app or bank don’t even take service requests from NRI customers to change phone numbers from distance and ask them to do it in person!!! losers!!!

Seriously?? I’ll have to type complete account numbers, OTPs etc
App times out spontaneously and Face ID login fails more often than not.
Random misleading KYC popup…the list is long

Worst app update for NRIs

Forcing mobile number verification to use app is absolutely worst idea for NRIs. If you really want to secure and improve app, please consider alternate 2 factor authentication ways. Yo must revert back this feature for NRIs asap.

Not able to click the agree page

Stupid user interface, how can proceed to next pages if the first not allowing to agree

Inbox

When there are new messages in the inbox, it takes ages to open them! And what kind of bad security of this App. When I go home and come back, app still does not ask for login! Bad security!

No option to disable marketing notifications

Can’t disable specific notifications. I don’t want your stupid car loan, but I want to be notified of any debits/credits - but no, I’ve to disable all notifications!

Trash

The latest version is absolute trash. It cannot be used on ipads anymore as it needs SIM. And from my phone I'm unable to send SMS as it's an international number and my phone plan does not allow international SMS. Due to this, I've reduced my online transactions. FIX IT!!

Very bad user experience

In this era of complicated and frequently rotating passwords we try to autofill or at least paste the password in the password field. But the app doesn’t allow it. Can‘t type the password every time as the passwords are not simple to remember. Had to get rid of the app. Worst design

Worst banking app out of 5 others I use

I can’t even use the app on a new mobile phone. It asks me to send an SMS to start using it and the SMS always fails. I have few other Indian bank apps and international banking apps from Finland, Germany etc. No where I have seen this stupidity of sending SMS to start using the app.

Multiple customer ID using same mobile number is not working

I am entering correct mobile number and customer ID. It is throwing error to check the details again. This might be due to two customer IDs in the family using same mobile number.

Thoughtless Touch ID function

Incorporating Touch ID to log in will definitely make it easy to log in to the app. But think about the way to incorporate this new function. Why does it need to have a separate 4 digit pin and why can't you transfer the pin to a new phone? Do you think I keep using the same phone for 3 years? It is next to impossible for me to use the new feature.

Problematic

The hdfc app is not even logging in properly if i have to check my balance. I dont know what kind of services they are maintaining. The app doesnt login many a times that stops me from doing any banking activity. Imagine you cannot check your balance, send money or get your statement whenever you needed the most. They don’t even respond to customer complaint emails. Probably will close my account here because of this poor technical team.

Awful user experience

The app kind of “gets the job done”, although not always as it’s so buggy!
However the user experience is terrible. Specially in 2020 when there are so many great apps out there.
You really need to hire a professional UX designer and redo the whole app. It feels like it was developed in 1990.

Scheduled payment not possible.

In the current version (11.0.0) of the app, there is no possibility to change the date for a scheduled payment. It always shows current date and when tapped, it shows typing cursor without onscreen keyboard.
Please try to correct it.

Click on terms and enter into infinite LOOP

I seriously dont get the new update, you have added the checkbox to click and read terms & conditions , but when clicking on it - it says read and click and continue, guess what i have done it 10 times, still cannot move to login page.. i am seriously doubting how you launch this new version without testing it properly, disappointed 😔
