Last month I opened NRE and NRO accounts with HDFC bank. I received required information to access HDFC bank App. The previous version was working with OTP based system but this new update ask to send pre-composed message to Indian number which requires international roaming, which is quite expensive and you have to keep it active because you never know when you need it again. So for new customers, do not go for HDFC NRI accounts if App access is critical for you. I still have to open PC because HDFC website pages are full with multiple advertisements which makes it very slow and need to very careful while clicking in phone browser. It is a nightmare to open HDFC website in a phone. It is extra work for me so I decide to close my both accounts and go with some other bank which at least can provide basic online banking facilities with App and doesn’t require extra TIME and money.

I’ve multiple banking accounts and have never seen such unfriendly banking app for mobile. Firstly, there are tons of bugs in your app. Talking about Touch ID, can’t you just provide access through just phones Touch ID, seriously? Here go and check Deutsche Bank app or Sparkasse bank. Let’s talk among private banks in India, please learn from iMobile app of Icici bank and flexibility they give to their customers especially NRIs. I mean your app or bank don’t even take service requests from NRI customers to change phone numbers from distance and ask them to do it in person!!! losers!!!

The hdfc app is not even logging in properly if i have to check my balance. I dont know what kind of services they are maintaining. The app doesnt login many a times that stops me from doing any banking activity. Imagine you cannot check your balance, send money or get your statement whenever you needed the most. They don’t even respond to customer complaint emails. Probably will close my account here because of this poor technical team.
