OCBC Bank in Singapore is an extremely untrustworthy institution. I live in Europe but hold a Chinese passport. Today, December 10, 2024, I received an email from them stating that because I am neither a Singaporean citizen nor a resident of Singapore, I am required to handle the funds in my bank account by December 15, or else they will close my account. When I opened my account through their online banking service, I followed all their requirements, submitting my Chinese passport, proof of residence in Europe, and European tax identification number. As required, I also deposited more than 3,000 Singapore dollars and an even larger amount in USD. Now, they give users only five days to deal with their funds, blatantly violating the original account-opening principles and treating customers like cattle or dogs to be hurriedly driven away. This kind of behavior is truly disgusting and highlights the so-called "standards" of this so-called "international bank." I will never trust any Singaporean bank again!
